Deuteronomy 31 (WEBP)

[1] Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.
[2] He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old today. I can no more go out and come in. Yahweh has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’
[3] Yahweh your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua will go over before you, as Yahweh has spoken.
[4] Yahweh will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them.
[5] Yahweh will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.
[6] Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”
[7] Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.
[8] Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.”
[9] Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, and to all the elders of Israel.
[10] Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of booths,
[11] when all Israel has come to appear before Yahweh your God in the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
[12] Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and the foreigners who are within your gates, that they may hear, learn, fear Yahweh your God, and observe to do all the words of this law,
[13] and that their children, who have not known, may hear and learn to fear Yahweh your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”
[14] Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.
[15] Yahweh appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the Tent’s door.
[16] Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.
[17] Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’
[18] I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.
[19] “Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
[20] For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.
[21] It will happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song will testify before them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants; for I know their ways and what they are doing today, before I have brought them into the land which I promised them.”
[22] So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.
[23] He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them. I will be with you.”
[24] When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
[25] Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, saying,
[26] “Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, that it may be there for a witness against you.
[27] For I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. Behold, while I am yet alive with you today, you have been rebellious against Yahweh. How much more after my death?
[28] Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.
[29] For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn away from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days, because you will do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.”
[30] Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.

Deuteronomy 31 (KJVS)

[1] And Moses H4872 went H3212 (8799) and spake H1696 (8762) these words H1697 unto all Israel H3478.
[2] And he said H559 (8799) unto them, I [am] an hundred H3967 and twenty H6242 years H8141 old H1121 this day H3117; I can H3201 (8799) no more go out H3318 (8800) and come in H935 (8800): also the LORD H3068 hath said H559 (8804) unto me, Thou shalt not go over H5674 (8799) this Jordan H3383.
[3] The LORD H3068 thy God H430, he will go over H5674 (8802) before H6440 thee, [and] he will destroy H8045 (8686) these nations H1471 from before H6440 thee, and thou shalt possess H3423 (8804) them: [and] Joshua H3091, he shall go over H5674 (8802) before H6440 thee, as the LORD H3068 hath said H1696 (8765).
[4] And the LORD H3068 shall do H6213 (8804) unto them as he did H6213 (8804) to Sihon H5511 and to Og H5747, kings H4428 of the Amorites H567, and unto the land H776 of them, whom he destroyed H8045 (8689).
[5] And the LORD H3068 shall give them up H5414 (8804) before your face H6440, that ye may do H6213 (8804) unto them according unto all the commandments H4687 which I have commanded H6680 (8765) you.
[6] Be strong H2388 (8798) and of a good courage H553 (8798), fear H3372 (8799) not, nor be afraid H6206 (8799) of them H6440: for the LORD H3068 thy God H430, he [it is] that doth go H1980 (8802) with thee; he will not fail H7503 (8686) thee, nor forsake H5800 (8799) thee.
[7] And Moses H4872 called H7121 (8799) unto Joshua H3091, and said H559 (8799) unto him in the sight H5869 of all Israel H3478, Be strong H2388 (8798) and of a good courage H553 (8798): for thou must go H935 (8799) with this people H5971 unto the land H776 which the LORD H3068 hath sworn H7650 (8738) unto their fathers H1 to give H5414 (8800) them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit H5157 (8686) it.
[8] And the LORD H3068, he [it is] that doth go H1980 (8802) before H6440 thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail H7503 (8686) thee, neither forsake H5800 (8799) thee: fear H3372 (8799) not, neither be dismayed H2865 (8735).
[9] And Moses H4872 wrote H3789 (8799) this law H8451, and delivered H5414 (8799) it unto the priests H3548 the sons H1121 of Levi H3878, which bare H5375 (8802) the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068, and unto all the elders H2205 of Israel H3478.
[10] And Moses H4872 commanded H6680 (8762) them, saying H559 (8800), At the end H7093 of [every] seven H7651 years H8141, in the solemnity H4150 of the year H8141 of release H8059, in the feast H2282 of tabernacles H5521,
[11] When all Israel H3478 is come H935 (8800) to appear H7200 (8736) before H6440 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 in the place H4725 which he shall choose H977 (8799), thou shalt read H7121 (8799) this law H8451 before all Israel H3478 in their hearing H241.
[12] Gather H6950 the people H5971 together H6950 (8685), men H582, and women H802, and children H2945, and thy stranger H1616 that [is] within thy gates H8179, that they may hear H8085 (8799), and that they may learn H3925 (8799), and fear H3372 (8804) the LORD H3068 your God H430, and observe H8104 (8804) to do H6213 (8800) all the words H1697 of this law H8451:
[13] And [that] their children H1121, which have not known H3045 (8804) [any thing], may hear H8085 (8799), and learn H3925 (8804) to fear H3372 (8800) the LORD H3068 your God H430, as long as H3117 ye live H2416 in the land H127 whither ye go over H5674 (8802) Jordan H3383 to possess H3423 (8800) it.
[14] And the LORD H3068 said H559 (8799) unto Moses H4872, Behold, thy days H3117 approach H7126 (8804) that thou must die H4191 (8800): call H7121 (8798) Joshua H3091, and present H3320 (8690) yourselves in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150, that I may give him a charge H6680 (8762). And Moses H4872 and Joshua H3091 went H3212 (8799), and presented H3320 (8691) themselves in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150.
[15] And the LORD H3068 appeared H7200 (8735) in the tabernacle H168 in a pillar H5982 of a cloud H6051: and the pillar H5982 of the cloud H6051 stood H5975 (8799) over the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168.
[16] And the LORD H3068 said H559 (8799) unto Moses H4872, Behold, thou shalt sleep H7901 (8802) with thy fathers H1; and this people H5971 will rise up H6965 (8804), and go a whoring H2181 (8804) after H310 the gods H430 of the strangers H5236 of the land H776, whither they go H935 (8802) [to be] among H7130 them, and will forsake H5800 (8804) me, and break H6565 (8689) my covenant H1285 which I have made H3772 (8804) with them.
[17] Then my anger H639 shall be kindled H2734 (8804) against them in that day H3117, and I will forsake H5800 (8804) them, and I will hide H5641 (8689) my face H6440 from them, and they shall be devoured H398 (8800), and many H7227 evils H7451 and troubles H6869 shall befall H4672 (8804) them; so that they will say H559 (8804) in that day H3117, Are not these evils H7451 come H4672 (8804) upon us, because our God H430 [is] not among H7130 us?
[18] And I will surely H5641 (8687) hide H5641 (8686) my face H6440 in that day H3117 for all the evils H7451 which they shall have wrought H6213 (8804), in that H3588 they are turned H6437 (8804) unto other H312 gods H430.
[19] Now therefore write H3789 (8798) ye this song H7892 for you, and teach H3925 (8761) it the children H1121 of Israel H3478: put H7760 (8798) it in their mouths H6310, that this song H7892 may be a witness H5707 for me against the children H1121 of Israel H3478.
[20] For when I shall have brought H935 (8686) them into the land H127 which I sware H7650 (8738) unto their fathers H1, that floweth H2100 (8802) with milk H2461 and honey H1706; and they shall have eaten H398 (8804) and filled H7646 (8804) themselves, and waxen fat H1878 (8804); then will they turn H6437 (8804) unto other H312 gods H430, and serve H5647 (8804) them, and provoke H5006 (8765) me, and break H6565 (8689) my covenant H1285.
[21] And it shall come to pass, when many H7227 evils H7451 and troubles H6869 are befallen H4672 (8799) them, that this song H7892 shall testify H6030 (8804) against H6440 them as a witness H5707; for it shall not be forgotten H7911 (8735) out of the mouths H6310 of their seed H2233: for I know H3045 (8804) their imagination H3336 which they go about H6213 (8802), even now H3117, before I have brought H935 (8686) them into the land H776 which I sware H7650 (8738).
[22] Moses H4872 therefore wrote H3789 (8799) this song H7892 the same day H3117, and taught H3925 (8762) it the children H1121 of Israel H3478.
[23] And he gave Joshua H3091 the son H1121 of Nun H5126 a charge H6680 (8762), and said H559 (8799), Be strong H2388 (8798) and of a good courage H553 (8798): for thou shalt bring H935 (8686) the children H1121 of Israel H3478 into the land H776 which I sware H7650 (8738) unto them: and I will be with thee.
[24] And it came to pass, when Moses H4872 had made an end H3615 (8763) of writing H3789 (8800) the words H1697 of this law H8451 in a book H5612, until they were finished H8552 (8800),
[25] That Moses H4872 commanded H6680 (8762) the Levites H3881, which bare H5375 (8802) the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068, saying H559 (8800),
[26] Take H3947 (8800) this book H5612 of the law H8451, and put H7760 (8804) it in the side H6654 of the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 your God H430, that it may be there for a witness H5707 against thee.
[27] For I know H3045 (8804) thy rebellion H4805, and thy stiff H7186 neck H6203: behold, while I am yet alive H2416 with you this day H3117, ye have been rebellious H4784 (8688) against the LORD H3068; and how much more after H310 my death H4194?
[28] Gather H6950 (8685) unto me all the elders H2205 of your tribes H7626, and your officers H7860 (8802), that I may speak H1696 (8762) these words H1697 in their ears H241, and call H5749 heaven H8064 and earth H776 to record H5749 (8686) against them.
[29] For I know H3045 (8804) that after H310 my death H4194 ye will utterly H7843 (8687) corrupt H7843 (8686) [yourselves], and turn aside H5493 (8804) from the way H1870 which I have commanded H6680 (8765) you; and evil H7451 will befall H7122 (8804) you in the latter H319 days H3117; because ye will do H6213 (8799) evil H7451 in the sight H5869 of the LORD H3068, to provoke him to anger H3707 (8687) through the work H4639 of your hands H3027.
[30] And Moses H4872 spake H1696 (8762) in the ears H241 of all the congregation H6951 of Israel H3478 the words H1697 of this song H7892, until they were ended H8552 (8800).

Young’s Literal Translation

Deuteronomy 31 (YLT)

[1] And Moses goeth and speaketh these words unto all Israel,
[2] and he saith unto them, ‘A son of a hundred and twenty years am I to-day; I am not able any more to go out and to come in, and Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou dost not pass over this Jordan,
[3] ‘Jehovah thy God He is passing over before thee, He doth destroy these nations from before thee, and thou hast possessed them; Joshua-he is passing over before thee as Jehovah hath spoken,
[4] and Jehovah hath done to them as he hath done to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorite, and to their land, whom He destroyed.
[5] And Jehovah hath given them before your face, and ye have done to them according to all the command which I have commanded you;
[6] be strong and courageous, fear not, nor be terrified because of them, for Jehovah thy God is He who is going with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee.’
[7] And Moses calleth for Joshua, and saith unto him before the eyes of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for thou-thou dost go in with this people unto the land which Jehovah hath sworn to their fathers to give to them, and thou-thou dost cause them to inherit it;
[8] and Jehovah is He who is going before thee, He himself is with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee; fear not, nor be affrighted.’
[9] And Moses writeth this law, and giveth it unto the priests (sons of Levi, those bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah), and unto all the elders of Israel,
[10] and Moses commandeth them, saying, ‘At the end of seven years, in the appointed time, the year of release, in the feast of booths,
[11] in the coming in of all Israel to see the face of Jehovah in the place which He chooseth, thou dost proclaim this law before all Israel, in their ears.
[12] ‘Assemble the people, the men, and the women, and the infants, and thy sojourner who is within thy gates, so that they hear, and so that they learn, and have feared Jehovah your God, and observed to do all the words of this law;
[13] and their sons, who have not known, do hear, and have learned to fear Jehovah your God all the days which ye are living on the ground whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it.’
[14] And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘Lo, thy days have drawn near to die; call Joshua, and station yourselves in the tent of meeting, and I charge him;’ and Moses goeth-Joshua also-and they station themselves in the tent of meeting,
[15] and Jehovah is seen in the tent, in a pillar of a cloud; and the pillar of the cloud standeth at the opening of the tent.
[16] And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘Lo, thou art lying down with thy fathers, and this people hath risen, and gone a-whoring after the gods of the stranger of the land into the midst of which it hath entered, and forsaken Me, and broken My covenant which I made with it;
[17] and Mine anger hath burned against it in that day, and I have forsaken them, and hidden My face from them, and it hath been for consumption, and many evils and distresses have found it, and it hath said in that day, Is it not because that my God is not in my midst-these evils have found me?
[18] and I certainly hide My face in that day for all the evil which it hath done, for it hath turned unto other gods.
[19] ‘And now, write for you this song, and teach it the sons of Israel; put it in their mouths, so that this song is to Me for a witness against the sons of Israel,
[20] and I bring them in unto the ground which I have sworn to their fathers-flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, and been fat, and have turned unto other gods, and they have served them, and despised Me, and broken My covenant.
[21] ‘And it hath been, when many evils and distresses do meet it, that this song hath testified to its face for a witness; for it is not forgotten out of the mouth of its seed, for I have known its imagining which it is doing to-day, before I bring them in unto the land of which I have sworn.’
[22] And Moses writeth this song on that day, and doth teach it the sons of Israel,
[23] and He commandeth Joshua son of Nun, and saith, ‘Be strong and courageous, for thou dost bring in the sons of Israel unto the land which I have sworn to them, and I-I am with thee.’
[24] And it cometh to pass, when Moses finisheth to write the words of this law on a book till their completion,
[25] that Moses commandeth the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,
[26] ‘Take this Book of the Law, and thou hast set it on the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and it hath been there against thee for a witness;
[27] for I-I have known thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck; lo, in my being yet alive with you to-day, rebellious ye have been with Jehovah, and also surely after my death.
[28] ‘Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your authorities, and I speak in their ears these words, and cause to testify against them the heavens and the earth,
[29] for I have known that after my death ye do very corruptly, and have turned aside out of the way which I commanded you, and evil hath met you in the latter end of the days, because ye do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to make Him angry with the work of your hands.’
[30] And Moses speaketh in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, till their completion:-
