Joshua 11 (WEBP)

[1] When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,
[2] and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,
[3] to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
[4] They went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.
[5] All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
[6] Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
[7] So Joshua came suddenly, with all the warriors, against them by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.
[8] Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.
[9] Joshua did to them as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
[10] Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.
[11] They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burned Hazor with fire.
[12] Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.
[13] But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.
[14] The children of Israel took all the plunder of these cities, with the livestock, as plunder for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.
[15] As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
[16] So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same,
[17] from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon. He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.
[18] Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
[19] There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.
[20] For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
[21] Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
[22] There were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
[23] So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh spoke to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land had rest from war.

Joshua 11 (KJVS)

[1] And it came to pass, when Jabin H2985 king H4428 of Hazor H2674 had heard H8085 (8800) [those things], that he sent H7971 (8799) to Jobab H3103 king H4428 of Madon H4068, and to the king H4428 of Shimron H8110, and to the king H4428 of Achshaph H407,
[2] And to the kings H4428 that [were] on the north H6828 of the mountains H2022, and of the plains H6160 south H5045 of Chinneroth H3672, and in the valley H8219, and in the borders H5299 of Dor H1756 on the west H3220,
[3] [And to] the Canaanite H3669 on the east H4217 and on the west H3220, and [to] the Amorite H567, and the Hittite H2850, and the Perizzite H6522, and the Jebusite H2983 in the mountains H2022, and [to] the Hivite H2340 under Hermon H2768 in the land H776 of Mizpeh H4709.
[4] And they went out H3318 (8799), they and all their hosts H4264 with them, much H7227 people H5971, even as the sand H2344 that [is] upon the sea H3220 shore H8193 in multitude H7230, with horses H5483 and chariots H7393 very H3966 many H7227.
[5] And when all these kings H4428 were met together H3259 (8735), they came H935 (8799) and pitched H2583 (8799) together H3162 at the waters H4325 of Merom H4792, to fight H3898 (8736) against Israel H3478.
[6] And the LORD H3068 said H559 (8799) unto Joshua H3091, Be not afraid H3372 (8799) because H6440 of them: for to morrow H4279 about this time H6256 will I deliver them up H5414 (8802) all slain H2491 before H6440 Israel H3478: thou shalt hough H6131 (8762) their horses H5483, and burn H8313 (8799) their chariots H4818 with fire H784.
[7] So Joshua H3091 came H935 (8799), and all the people H5971 of war H4421 with him, against them by the waters H4325 of Merom H4792 suddenly H6597; and they fell upon H5307 (8799) them.
[8] And the LORD H3068 delivered H5414 (8799) them into the hand H3027 of Israel H3478, who smote H5221 (8686) them, and chased H7291 (8799) them unto great H7227 Zidon H6721, and unto Misrephothmaim H4956, and unto the valley H1237 of Mizpeh H4708 eastward H4217; and they smote H5221 (8686) them, until they left H7604 (8689) them none remaining H8300.
[9] And Joshua H3091 did H6213 (8799) unto them as the LORD H3068 bade H559 (8804) him: he houghed H6131 (8765) their horses H5483, and burnt H8313 (8804) their chariots H4818 with fire H784.
[10] And Joshua H3091 at that time H6256 turned back H7725 (8799), and took H3920 (8799) Hazor H2674, and smote H5221 (8689) the king H4428 thereof with the sword H2719: for Hazor H2674 beforetime H6440 was the head H7218 of all those kingdoms H4467.
[11] And they smote H5221 (8686) all the souls H5315 that [were] therein with the edge H6310 of the sword H2719, utterly destroying H2763 (8687) [them]: there was not any left H3498 (8738) to breathe H5397: and he burnt H8313 (8804) Hazor H2674 with fire H784.
[12] And all the cities H5892 of those kings H4428, and all the kings H4428 of them, did Joshua H3091 take H3920 (8804), and smote H5221 (8686) them with the edge H6310 of the sword H2719, [and] he utterly destroyed H2763 (8689) them, as Moses H4872 the servant H5650 of the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765).
[13] But [as for] the cities H5892 that stood H5975 (8802) still in their strength H8510, Israel H3478 burned H8313 (8804) none of them, save H2108 Hazor H2674 only; [that] did Joshua H3091 burn H8313 (8804).
[14] And all the spoil H7998 of these cities H5892, and the cattle H929, the children H1121 of Israel H3478 took for a prey H962 (8804) unto themselves; but every man H120 they smote H5221 (8689) with the edge H6310 of the sword H2719, until they had destroyed H8045 (8687) them, neither left H7604 (8689) they any to breathe H5397.
[15] As the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765) Moses H4872 his servant H5650, so did Moses H4872 command H6680 (8765) Joshua H3091, and so did H6213 (8804) Joshua H3091; he left H5493 nothing H1697 undone H5493 (8689) of all that the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765) Moses H4872.
[16] So Joshua H3091 took H3947 (8799) all that land H776, the hills H2022, and all the south country H5045, and all the land H776 of Goshen H1657, and the valley H8219, and the plain H6160, and the mountain H2022 of Israel H3478, and the valley H8219 of the same;
[17] [Even] from the mount H2022 Halak H2510, that goeth up H5927 (8802) to Seir H8165, even unto Baalgad H1171 in the valley H1237 of Lebanon H3844 under mount H2022 Hermon H2768: and all their kings H4428 he took H3920 (8804), and smote H5221 (8686) them, and slew H4191 (8686) them.
[18] Joshua H3091 made H6213 (8804) war H4421 a long H7227 time H3117 with all those kings H4428.
[19] There was not a city H5892 that made peace H7999 (8689) with the children H1121 of Israel H3478, save the Hivites H2340 the inhabitants H3427 (8802) of Gibeon H1391: all [other] they took H3947 (8804) in battle H4421.
[20] For it was of the LORD H3068 to harden H2388 (8763) their hearts H3820, that they should come against H7125 (8800) Israel H3478 in battle H4421, that he might destroy them utterly H2763 (8687), [and] that they might have no favour H8467, but that he might destroy H8045 (8687) them, as the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765) Moses H4872.
[21] And at that time H6256 came H935 (8799) Joshua H3091, and cut off H3772 (8686) the Anakims H6062 from the mountains H2022, from Hebron H2275, from Debir H1688, from Anab H6024, and from all the mountains H2022 of Judah H3063, and from all the mountains H2022 of Israel H3478: Joshua H3091 destroyed them utterly H2763 (8689) with their cities H5892.
[22] There was none of the Anakims H6062 left H3498 (8738) in the land H776 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478: only in Gaza H5804, in Gath H1661, and in Ashdod H795, there remained H7604 (8738).
[23] So Joshua H3091 took H3947 (8799) the whole land H776, according to all that the LORD H3068 said H1696 (8765) unto Moses H4872; and Joshua H3091 gave H5414 (8799) it for an inheritance H5159 unto Israel H3478 according to their divisions H4256 by their tribes H7626. And the land H776 rested H8252 (8804) from war H4421.

Young’s Literal Translation

Joshua 11 (YLT)

[1] And it cometh to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heareth, that he sendeth unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph,
[2] and unto the kings who are on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,
[3] to the Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh-
[4] and they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which is on the sea-shore for multitude, and horse and charioteer very many;
[5] and all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
[6] And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, ‘Be not afraid of their presence, for to-morrow about this time I am giving all of them wounded before Israel; their horses thou dost hough, and their chariots burn with fire.’
[7] And Joshua cometh, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and they fall on them;
[8] and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of Israel, and they smite them and pursue them unto the great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-Maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they smite them, till he hath not left to them a remnant;
[9] and Joshua doth to them as Jehovah said to him; their horses he hath houghed, and their chariots burnt with fire.
[10] And Joshua turneth back at that time, and captureth Hazor, and its king he hath smitten by the sword; for Hazor formerly is head of all these kingdoms;
[11] and they smite every person who is in it by the mouth of the sword; he hath devoted-he hath not left any one breathing, and Hazor he hath burnt with fire;
[12] and all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, hath Joshua captured, and he smiteth them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded.
[13] Only, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel hath not burned them, save Hazor only, it hath Joshua burnt;
[14] and all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, have the sons of Israel spoiled for themselves; only, every human being they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, till their destroying them; they have not left any one breathing.
[15] As Jehovah commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so hath Joshua done; he hath not turned aside a thing of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.
[16] And Joshua taketh all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,
[17] from the mount of Halak, which is going up to Seir, and unto Baal-Gad, in the valley of Lebanon, under mount Hermon; and all their kings he hath captured, and he smiteth them, and putteth them to death.
[18] Many days hath Joshua made with all these kings war;
[19] there hath not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel save the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; the whole they have taken in battle;
[20] for from Jehovah it hath been to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.
[21] And Joshua cometh at that time, and cutteth off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, even from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; with their cities hath Joshua devoted them.
[22] There hath not been left Anakim in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.
[23] And Joshua taketh the whole of the land, according to all that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and Joshua giveth it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land hath rest from war.
