Jeremiah 24 (WEBP)
[1] Yahweh showed me, and behold, two baskets of figs were set before Yahweh’s temple, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.
[2] One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.
[3] Then Yahweh asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “Figs. The good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, so bad that they can’t be eaten.”
[4] Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
[5] “Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.
[6] For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land. I will build them, and not pull them down. I will plant them, and not pluck them up.
[7] I will give them a heart to know me, that I am Yahweh. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with their whole heart.
[8] “ ‘As the bad figs, which can’t be eaten, they are so bad,’ surely Yahweh says, ‘So I will give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt.
[9] I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.
[10] I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them, until they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.’ ”

Jeremiah 24 (KJVS)
[1] The LORD H3068 shewed H7200 (8689) me, and, behold, two H8147 baskets H1736 of figs H8384 [were] set H3259 (8716) before H6440 the temple H1964 of the LORD H3068, after H310 that Nebuchadrezzar H5019 king H4428 of Babylon H894 had carried away captive H1540 (8687) Jeconiah H3204 the son H1121 of Jehoiakim H3079 king H4428 of Judah H3063, and the princes H8269 of Judah H3063, with the carpenters H2796 and smiths H4525, from Jerusalem H3389, and had brought H935 (8686) them to Babylon H894.
[2] One H259 basket H1731 [had] very H3966 good H2896 figs H8384, [even] like the figs H8384 [that are] first ripe H1073: and the other H259 basket H1731 [had] very H3966 naughty H7451 figs H8384, which could not be eaten H398 (8735), they were so bad H7455.
[3] Then said H559 (8799) the LORD H3068 unto me, What seest H7200 (8802) thou, Jeremiah H3414? And I said H559 (8799), Figs H8384; the good H2896 figs H8384, very H3966 good H2896; and the evil H7451, very H3966 evil H7451, that cannot be eaten H398 (8735), they are so evil H7455.
[4] Again the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 came unto me, saying H559 (8800),
[5] Thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068, the God H430 of Israel H3478; Like these good H2896 figs H8384, so will I acknowledge H5234 (8686) them that are carried away captive H1546 of Judah H3063, whom I have sent H7971 (8765) out of this place H4725 into the land H776 of the Chaldeans H3778 for [their] good H2896.
[6] For I will set H7760 (8804) mine eyes H5869 upon them for good H2896, and I will bring them again H7725 (8689) to this land H776: and I will build H1129 (8804) them, and not pull [them] down H2040 (8799); and I will plant H5193 (8804) them, and not pluck [them] up H5428 (8799).
[7] And I will give H5414 (8804) them an heart H3820 to know H3045 (8800) me, that I [am] the LORD H3068: and they shall be my people H5971, and I will be their God H430: for they shall return H7725 (8799) unto me with their whole heart H3820.
[8] And as the evil H7451 figs H8384, which cannot be eaten H398 (8735), they are so evil H7455; surely thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068, So will I give H5414 (8799) Zedekiah H6667 the king H4428 of Judah H3063, and his princes H8269, and the residue H7611 of Jerusalem H3389, that remain H7604 (8737) in this land H776, and them that dwell H3427 (8802) in the land H776 of Egypt H4714:
[9] And I will deliver H5414 (8804) them to be removed H2189 (8675) H2113 into all the kingdoms H4467 of the earth H776 for [their] hurt H7451, [to be] a reproach H2781 and a proverb H4912, a taunt H8148 and a curse H7045, in all places H4725 whither I shall drive H5080 (8686) them.
[10] And I will send H7971 (8765) the sword H2719, the famine H7458, and the pestilence H1698, among them, till they be consumed H8552 (8800) from off the land H127 that I gave H5414 (8804) unto them and to their fathers H1.
Young’s Literal Translation
Jeremiah 24 (YLT)
[1] Jehovah hath shewed me, and lo, two baskets of figs, appointed before the temple of Jehovah,-after the removing by Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, of Jeconiah, son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the heads of Judah, and the artisan, and the smith, from Jerusalem, when he bringeth them into Babylon-
[2] In the one basket are figs very good, like the first-ripe figs, and in the other basket are figs very bad, that are not eaten for badness.
[3] And Jehovah saith unto me, ‘What art thou seeing, Jeremiah?’ and I say, ‘Figs, the good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, that are not eaten for badness.’
[4] And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
[5] Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Like these good figs so do I acknowledge The removed of Judah-that I sent from this place, To the land of the Chaldeans-for good.
[6] And I have set Mine eyes on them for good, And have brought them back to this land, And built them up, and I throw not down, And have planted them, and pluck not up.
[7] And have given to them a heart to know Me, For I am Jehovah, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for God, For they turned back unto Me with all their heart.
[8] And like the bad figs, that are not eaten for badness, Surely thus said Jehovah: So do I make Zedekiah king of Judah, And his heads, and the remnant of Jerusalem, Who are left in this land, And who are dwelling in the land of Egypt,
[9] And I have given them for a trembling, For evil-to all kingdoms of the earth, For a reproach, and for a simile, For a byword, and for a reviling, In all the places whither I drive them.
[10] And I have sent against them the sword, The famine and the pestilence, Till their consumption from off the ground, That I gave to them and to their fathers!
