Jeremiah 33

1.  Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,
2.  Thus saith Jehovah that doeth it, Jehovah that formeth it to establish it; Jehovah is his name:
3.  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great things, and difficult, which thou knowest not.
4.  For thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are broken down to make a defence against the mounds and against the sword;
5.  while men come to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my wrath, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city:
6.  Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them; and I will reveal unto them abundance of peace and truth.
7.  And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
8.  And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
9.  And this city shall be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them, and shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure unto it.
10.  Thus saith Jehovah: Yet again there shall be heard in this place, whereof ye say, It is waste, without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,
11.  the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; and of them that bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah.  For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.
12.  Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet again shall there be in this place, which is waste, without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
13.  In the cities of the hill-country, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks again pass under the hands of him that numbereth them, saith Jehovah.
14.  Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will perform that good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah.
15.  In those days, and at that time, will I cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
 16.  In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name whereby she shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.
 17.  For thus saith Jehovah: David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
 18.  neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt-offerings, and to burn meal-offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
19.  And the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, saying,
20.  Thus saith Jehovah: If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there shall not be day and night in their season;
21.  then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he shall not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
22.  As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured; so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
23.  And the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, saying,
24.  Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which Jehovah did choose, he hath cast them off?  thus do they despise my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
25.  Thus saith Jehovah: If my covenant of day and night stand not, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
26.  then will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them.

12.  Thus saith [0559] (8804) the LORD [3068] of hosts [6635]; Again in this place [4725], which is desolate [2720] without man [0120] and without beast [0929], and in all the cities [5892] thereof, shall be an habitation [5116] of shepherds [7462] (8802) causing [their] flocks [6629] to lie down [7257] (8688).
13.  In the cities [5892] of the mountains [2022], in the cities [5892] of the vale [8219], and in the cities [5892] of the south [5045], and in the land [0776] of Benjamin [1144], and in the places about [5439] Jerusalem [3389], and in the cities [5892] of Judah [3063], shall the flocks [6629] pass again [5674] (8799) under the hands [3027] of him that telleth [4487] (8802) [them], saith [0559] (8804) the LORD [3068].
14.  Behold, the days [3117] come [0935] (8802), saith [5002] (8803) the LORD [3068], that I will perform [6965] (8689) that good [2896] thing [1697] which I have promised [1696] (8765) unto the house [1004] of Israel [3478] and to the house [1004] of Judah [3063].
15.  In those days [3117], and at that time [6256], will I cause the Branch [6780] of righteousness [6666] to grow up [6779] (8686) unto David [1732]; and he shall execute [6213] (8804) judgment [4941] and righteousness [6666] in the land [0776].
 16.  In those days [3117] shall Judah [3063] be saved [3467] (8735), and Jerusalem [3389] shall dwell [7931] (8799) safely [0983]: and this [is the name] wherewith she shall be called [7121] (8799), The LORD our righteousness [3072].
 17.  For thus saith [0559] (8804) the LORD [3068]; David [1732] shall never [3808] want [3772] (8735) a man [0376] to sit [3427] (8802) upon the throne [3678] of the house [1004] of Israel [3478];
 18.  Neither shall the priests [3548] the Levites [3881] want [3772] (8735) a man [0376] before [6440] me to offer [5927] (8688) burnt offerings [5930], and to kindle [6999] (8688) meat offerings [4503], and to do [6213] (8802) sacrifice [2077] continually [3117].
19.  And the word [1697] of the LORD [3068] came unto Jeremiah [3414], saying [0559] (8800),
20.  Thus saith [0559] (8804) the LORD [3068]; If ye can break [6565] (8686) my covenant [1285] of the day [3117], and my covenant [1285] of the night [3915], and that there should not be day [3119] and night [3915] in their season [6256];
21.  [Then] may also my covenant [1285] be broken [6565] (8714) with David [1732] my servant [5650], that he should not have a son [1121] to reign [4427] (8802) upon his throne [3678]; and with the Levites [3881] the priests [3548], my ministers [8334] (8764).
22.  As the host [6635] of heaven [8064] cannot be numbered [5608] (8735), neither the sand [2344] of the sea [3220] measured [4058] (8735): so will I multiply [7235] (8686) the seed [2233] of David [1732] my servant [5650], and the Levites [3881] that minister [8334] (8764) unto me.
23.  Moreover the word [1697] of the LORD [3068] came to Jeremiah [3414], saying [0559] (8800),
24.  Considerest [7200] (8804) thou not what this people [5971] have spoken [1696] (8765), saying [0559] (8800), The two [8147] families [4940] which the LORD [3068] hath chosen [0977] (8804), he hath even cast them off [3988] (8799)?  thus they have despised [5006] (8799) my people [5971], that they should be no more a nation [1471] before [6440] them.
25.  Thus saith [0559] (8804) the LORD [3068]; If my covenant [1285] [be] not with day [3119] and night [3915], [and if] I have not appointed [7760] (8804) the ordinances [2708] of heaven [8064] and earth [0776];

Jeremiah 33

1.  And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah a second time-and he is yet detained in the court of the prison-saying:
2.  Thus said Jehovah its maker, Jehovah its former, at establishing it, Jehovah is His name:
3.  Call unto Me, and I do answer thee, yea, I declare to thee great and fenced things-thou hast not known them.
4.  For thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, that are broken down for the mounts, and for the tool;
5.  they are coming in to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the carcases of men, whom I have smitten in Mine anger, and in My fury, and for whom I have hidden My face from this city, because of all their evil:
6.  Lo, I am increasing to it health and cure, And have healed them, and revealed to them The abundance of peace and truth.
7.  And I have turned back the captivity of Judah, And the captivity of Israel, And I have built them as at the first,
8.  And cleansed them from all their iniquity, That they have sinned against Me, And I have pardoned all their iniquities, That they have sinned against Me, And that they transgressed against Me.
9.  And it hath been to Me for a name of joy, For praise, and for beauty, to all nations of the earth, Who hear of all the good that I am doing them, And they have feared, And they have trembled for all the good, And for all the peace, that I am doing to it.
10.  Thus said Jehovah: Again heard in this place of which ye are saying, Waste it is, without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast,
11.  Is a voice of joy and a voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, The voice of those saying, Thank Jehovah of Hosts, for Jehovah is good, For His kindness is to the age, Who are bringing in thanksgiving to the house of Jehovah, For I turn back the captivity of the land, As at the first, said Jehovah.
12.  Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again there is in this place-that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities-a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down.
13.  In the cities of the hill-country, In the cities of the low country, And in the cities of the south, And in the land of Benjamin, And in the suburbs of Jerusalem, And in the cities of Judah, Again doth the flock pass by under the hands of the numberer, said Jehovah.
14.  Lo, days are coming, an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have established the good word That I spake unto the house of Israel, And concerning the house of Judah.
15.  In those days, and at that time, I cause to shoot up to David a shoot of righteousness, And he hath done judgment and righteousness in the earth.
 16.  In those days is Judah saved, And Jerusalem doth dwell confidently, And this is he whom Jehovah proclaimeth to her: 'Our Righteousness.'
 17.  For thus said Jehovah: 'Not cut off to David is one sitting on the throne of the house of Israel,
 18.  And to the priests-the Levites, Not cut off from before Me is one, Causing a burnt-offering to ascend, And perfuming a present, and making sacrifice-all the days.'
19.  And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,
20.  'Thus said Jehovah: If ye do break My covenant of the day, And My covenant of the night, So that they are not daily and nightly in their season,
21.  Also My covenant is broken with David My servant, So that he hath not a son reigning on his throne, And with the Levites the priests, My ministers.
22.  As the host of the heavens is not numbered, Nor the sand of the sea measured, So I multiply the seed of David My servant, And the Levites My ministers.'
23.  And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying:
24.  'Hast thou not considered what this people have spoken, saying: The two families on which Jehovah fixed, He doth reject them, And my people they despise- So that they are no more a people before them!
25.  Thus said Jehovah: If My covenant is not daily and nightly, The statutes of heaven and earth I have not appointed-
26.  Also the seed of Jacob, and David My servant, I reject, Against taking from his seed rulers For the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, For I turn back to their captivity, and have pitied them.'
