Psalm 142:1-5 (ASV, KJVS, YLT)
American Standard VersionPsalm 1421. I cry with my voice unto Jehovah; With my voice unto Jehovah do I make supplication.2. I pour out my complaint before him; I show before him my trouble. 3. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walk Have they hidden a snare for me. 4. Look on my right hand, and see; For there is no man that knoweth me: Refuge hath failed me; No man careth for my soul. 5. I cried unto thee, O Jehovah; I said, Thou art my refuge, My portion in the land of the living. 6. Attend unto my cry; For I am brought very low: Deliver me from my persecutors; For they are stronger than I. 7. Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks unto thy name: The righteous shall compass me about; For thou wilt deal bountifully with me. |
King James w/Strong's #'sPsalm 1421. <<Maschil [4905] (8688) of David [1732]; A Prayer [8605] when he was in the cave [4631].>> I cried [2199] (8799) unto the LORD [3068] with my voice [6963]; with my voice [6963] unto the LORD [3068] did I make my supplication [2603] (8691).2. I poured out [8210] (8799) my complaint [7879] before [6440] him; I shewed [5046] (8686) before [6440] him my trouble [6869]. 3. When my spirit [7307] was overwhelmed [5848] (8692) within me, then thou knewest [3045] (8804) my path [5410]. In the way [0734] wherein [2098] I walked [1980] (8762) have they privily laid [2934] (8804) a snare [6341] for me. 4. I looked [5027] (8685) on [my] right hand [3225], and beheld [7200] (8798), but [there was] no man that would know [5234] (8688) me: refuge [4498] failed [0006] (8804) me; no man cared [1875] (8802) for my soul [5315]. 5. I cried [2199] (8804) unto thee, O LORD [3068]: I said [0559] (8804), Thou [art] my refuge [4268] [and] my portion [2506] in the land [0776] of the living [2416]. 6. Attend [7181] (8685) unto my cry [7440]; for I am brought [1809] very [3966] low [1809] (8804): deliver [5337] (8685) me from my persecutors [7291] (8802); for they are stronger [0553] (8804) than I. 7. Bring [3318] (8685) my soul [5315] out of prison [4525], that I may praise [3034] (8687) thy name [8034]: the righteous [6662] shall compass me about [3803] (8686); for thou shalt deal bountifully [1580] (8799) with me. |
Young's Literal TranslationPsalm 1421. My voice is unto Jehovah, I cry, My voice is unto Jehovah, I entreat grace.2. I pour forth before Him my meditation, My distress before Him I declare. 3. When my spirit hath been feeble in me, Then Thou hast known my path; In the way in which I walk, They have hid a snare for me. 4. Looking on the right hand-and seeing, And I have none recognizing; Perished hath refuge from me, There is none inquiring for my soul. 5. I have cried unto thee, O Jehovah, I have said, 'Thou art my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.' 6. Attend Thou unto my loud cry, For I have become very low, Deliver Thou me from my pursuers, For they have been stronger than I. 7. Bring forth from prison my soul to confess Thy name, The righteous do compass me about, When Thou conferrest benefits upon me! |
