Spiritual Renovation EGP Blog post from August 26, 2012

Some people think that when you become a Christian, that you “have it all together,” but here’s what really happens…

Our spiritual (inner) man was dead in sin, but upon conversion, was quickened (made alive) with Christ by the Spirit. Now, “though our outer man [i.e., our body] is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.”

The Greek word translated “renewed” here is “anakainoo” [G341] and can also be translated “renovated.” So, we DON’T have it all together when we become Christians, instead, we’re “under construction” in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit!
