The Defiled Made Clean Again EGP Blog post from October 11, 2012

Psalm 18:25–26 ()

[25] To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. [26] To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the wicked you show yourself hostile.

At first glance, this may seem like God is putting on different faces for different people. In reality, it is saying that we see Him differently, depending on the condition of our mind and conscience.

Titus 1:15 ()

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are defiled.

Thank God that, though were defiled, we were made clean again!

Hebrews 10:21–22 ()

[21] And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s people, [22] let us go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trusting him. For our evil consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
