Romans is the first and longest of Paul's letters to the churches, written to believers in a city he had not yet visited. It is the most systematic thing he wrote, working through the guilt of the whole world, justification by faith, life in the Spirit, and the place of Israel, before turning eleven chapters of doctrine into how to live.
