Now when all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, Johanan the son of Kareah, Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

και ηκουσαν παντες οι αρχοντες της δυναμεως αυτοι και οι ανδρες αυτων οτι κατεστησεν βασιλευς βαβυλωνος τον γοδολιαν και ηλθον προς γοδολιαν εις μασσηφαθ και ισμαηλ υιος ναθανιου και ιωαναν υιος καρηε και σαραιας υιος θανεμαθ ο νετωφαθιτης και ιεζονιας υιος του μαχαθι αυτοι και οι ανδρες αυτων

then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men came to Gedaliah to Mizpah.

Then they came H935 (QalImpf) to Gedaliah H1436 to Mizpah, H4708 even Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 and Johanan H3110 and Jonathan H3129 the sons H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and Seraiah H8304 the son H1121 of Tanhumeth, H8576 and the sons H1121 of Ephai H5778 the Netophathite, H5200 and Jezaniah H3153 the son H1121 of a Maachathite, H4602 they and their men. ^[47:8] και ηλθεν προς γοδολιαν εις μασσηφα ισμαηλ υιος ναθανιου και ιωαναν υιος καρηε και σαραιας υιος θαναεμεθ και υιοι ωφε του νετωφατι και ιεζονιας υιος του μοχατι αυτοι και οι ανδρες αυτων

Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,

^[47:13] και ιωαναν υιος καρηε και παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως οι εν τοις αγροις ηλθον προς γοδολιαν εις μασσηφα

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, “Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man will know it. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”

Then Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah H7143 spake H559 (QalPerf) to Gedaliah H1436 in Mizpah H4709 secretly, H5643 saying, H559 (QalInf) Let me go, H3212 (QalImpf) I pray thee, and I will slay H5221 (HiphImpf) Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 and no man H376 shall know H3045 (QalImpf) [it]: wherefore should he slay H5221 (HiphImpf) H5315 thee, that all the Jews H3064 which are gathered H6908 (NiphPtc) unto thee should be scattered, H6327 (NiphPerf) and the remnant H7611 in Judah H3063 perish? ^[47:15] και ιωαναν ειπεν τω γοδολια κρυφαιως εν μασσηφα πορευσομαι δη και παταξω τον ισμαηλ και μηθεις γνωτω μη παταξη σου ψυχην και διασπαρη πας ιουδα οι συνηγμενοι προς σε και απολουνται οι καταλοιποι ιουδα

But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, “You shall not do this thing, for you speak falsely of Ishmael.”

But Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam H296 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 Thou shalt not do H6213 (QalImpf) this thing: H1697 for thou speakest H1696 (QalActPtc) falsely H8267 of Ishmael. H3458

^[47:16] και ειπεν γοδολιας προς ιωαναν μη ποιησης το πραγμα τουτο οτι ψευδη συ λεγεις περι ισμαηλ

But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,

But when Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428 that [were] with him, heard H8085 (QalImpf) of all the evil H7451 that Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah H5418 had done, H6213 (QalPerf)

^[48:11] και ηκουσεν ιωαναν υιος καρηε και παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως οι μετ αυτου παντα τα κακα α εποιησεν ισμαηλ

Now when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad.

Now it came to pass, [that] when all the people H5971 which [were] with Ishmael H3458 saw H7200 (QalInf) Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428 that [were] with him, then they were glad. H8055 (QalImpf)

^[48:13] και εγενετο οτε ειδον πας ο λαος ο μετα ισμαηλ τον ιωαναν και τους ηγεμονας της δυναμεως της μετ αυτου

So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.

So all the people H5971 that Ishmael H3458 had carried away captive H7617 (QalPerf) from Mizpah H4709 cast about H5437 (QalImpf) and returned, H7725 (QalImpf) and went H3212 (QalImpf) unto Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah. H7143

^[48:14] και ανεστρεψαν προς ιωαναν

Then Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after he had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam—the men of war, with the women, the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon.

Then took H3947 (QalImpf) Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428 that [were] with him, all the remnant H7611 of the people H5971 whom he had recovered H7725 (HiphPerf) from Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 from Mizpah, H4709 after H310 [that] he had slain H5221 (HiphPerf) Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam, H296 [even] mighty H1397 men H582 of war, H4421 and the women, H802 and the children, H2945 and the eunuchs, H5631 whom he had brought again H7725 (HiphPerf) from Gibeon: H1391

^[48:16] και ελαβεν ιωαναν και παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως οι μετ αυτου παντας τους καταλοιπους του λαου ους απεστρεψεν απο ισμαηλ δυνατους ανδρας εν πολεμω και τας γυναικας και τα λοιπα και τους ευνουχους ους απεστρεψεν απο γαβαων

Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

Then all the captains H8269 of the forces, H2428 and Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and Jezaniah H3153 the son H1121 of Hoshaiah, H1955 and all the people H5971 from the least H6996 even unto the greatest, H1419 came near, H5066 (QalImpf)

^[49:1] και προσηλθον παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως και ιωαναν και αζαριας υιος μαασαιου και πας ο λαος απο μικρου εως μεγαλου

Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

Then called H7121 (QalImpf) he Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428 which [were] with him, and all the people H5971 from the least H6996 even to the greatest, H1419

^[49:8] και εκαλεσεν τον ιωαναν και τους ηγεμονας της δυναμεως και παντα τον λαον απο μικρου εως μεγαλου

then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, “You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, ‘You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’

Then spake H559 (QalImpf) Azariah H5838 the son H1121 of Hoshaiah, H1955 and Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the proud H2086 men, H582 saying H559 (QalActPtc) unto Jeremiah, H3414 Thou speakest H1696 (PielPtc) falsely: H8267 the Lord H3068 our God H430 hath not sent H7971 (QalPerf) thee to say, H559 (QalInf) Go H935 (QalImpf) not into Egypt H4714 to sojourn H1481 (QalInf) there:

^[50:2] και ειπεν αζαριας υιος μαασαιου και ιωαναν υιος καρηε και παντες οι ανδρες οι ειπαντες τω ιερεμια λεγοντες ψευδη ουκ απεστειλεν σε κυριος προς ημας λεγων μη εισελθητε εις αιγυπτον οικειν εκει

So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn’t obey Yahweh’s voice, to dwell in the land of Judah.

So Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces, H2428 and all the people, H5971 obeyed H8085 (QalPerf) not the voice H6963 of the Lord, H3068 to dwell H3427 (QalInf) in the land H776 of Judah. H3063

^[50:4] και ουκ ηκουσεν ιωαναν και παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως και πας ο λαος της φωνης κυριου κατοικησαι εν γη ιουδα

But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces took all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah—

But Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah, H7143 and all the captains H8269 of the forces, H2428 took H3947 (QalImpf) all the remnant H7611 of Judah, H3063 that were returned H7725 (QalPerf) from all nations, H1471 whither they had been driven, H5080 (NiphPerf) to dwell H1481 (QalInf) in the land H776 of Judah; H3063
