Jeremiah 43 (WEBP)

[1] When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of Yahweh their God, with which Yahweh their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
[2] then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, “You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say, ‘You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’
[3] but Baruch the son of Neriah has turned you against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death or carry us away captive to Babylon.”
[4] So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn’t obey Yahweh’s voice, to dwell in the land of Judah.
[5] But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces took all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah—
[6] the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
[7] They came into the land of Egypt, for they didn’t obey Yahweh’s voice; and they came to Tahpanhes.
[8] Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
[9] “Take great stones in your hand and hide them in mortar in the brick work which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah.
[10] Tell them, Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
[11] He will come, and will strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death will be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.
[12] I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt. He will burn them, and carry them away captive. He will array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he will go out from there in peace.
[13] He will also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh that is in the land of Egypt; and he will burn the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.’ ”

Jeremiah 43 (KJVS)

[1] And it came to pass, [that] when Jeremiah H3414 had made an end H3615 (8763) of speaking H1696 (8763) unto all the people H5971 all the words H1697 of the LORD H3068 their God H430, for which the LORD H3068 their God H430 had sent H7971 (8804) him to them, [even] all these words H1697,
[2] Then spake H559 (8799) Azariah H5838 the son H1121 of Hoshaiah H1955, and Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah H7143, and all the proud H2086 men H582, saying H559 (8802) unto Jeremiah H3414, Thou speakest H1696 (8764) falsely H8267: the LORD H3068 our God H430 hath not sent H7971 (8804) thee to say H559 (8800), Go H935 (8799) not into Egypt H4714 to sojourn H1481 (8800) there:
[3] But Baruch H1263 the son H1121 of Neriah H5374 setteth thee on H5496 (8688) against us, for to H4616 deliver H5414 (8800) us into the hand H3027 of the Chaldeans H3778, that they might put us to death H4191 (8687), and carry us away captives H1540 (8687) into Babylon H894.
[4] So Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah H7143, and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428, and all the people H5971, obeyed H8085 (8804) not the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068, to dwell H3427 (8800) in the land H776 of Judah H3063.
[5] But Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah H7143, and all the captains H8269 of the forces H2428, took H3947 (8799) all the remnant H7611 of Judah H3063, that were returned H7725 (8804) from all nations H1471, whither they had been driven H5080 (8738), to dwell H1481 (8800) in the land H776 of Judah H3063;
[6] [Even] men H1397, and women H802, and children H2945, and the king’s H4428 daughters H1323, and every person H5315 that Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 of the guard H2876 had left H3240 (8689) with Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam H296 the son H1121 of Shaphan H8227, and Jeremiah H3414 the prophet H5030, and Baruch H1263 the son H1121 of Neriah H5374.
[7] So they came H935 (8799) into the land H776 of Egypt H4714: for they obeyed H8085 (8804) not the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068: thus came H935 (8799) they [even] to Tahpanhes H8471.
[8] Then came the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 unto Jeremiah H3414 in Tahpanhes H8471, saying H559 (8800),
[9] Take H3947 (8798) great H1419 stones H68 in thine hand H3027, and hide H2934 (8804) them in the clay H4423 in the brickkiln H4404, which [is] at the entry H6607 of Pharaoh’s H6547 house H1004 in Tahpanhes H8471, in the sight H5869 of the men H582 of Judah H3064;
[10] And say H559 (8804) unto them, Thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068 of hosts H6635, the God H430 of Israel H3478; Behold, I will send H7971 (8802) and take H3947 (8804) Nebuchadrezzar H5019 the king H4428 of Babylon H894, my servant H5650, and will set H7760 (8804) his throne H3678 upon H4605 these stones H68 that I have hid H2934 (8804); and he shall spread H5186 (8804) his royal pavilion H8237 over them.
[11] And when he cometh H935 (8804), he shall smite H5221 (8689) the land H776 of Egypt H4714, [and deliver] such [as are] for death H4194 to death H4194; and such [as are] for captivity H7628 to captivity H7628; and such [as are] for the sword H2719 to the sword H2719.
[12] And I will kindle H3341 (8689) a fire H784 in the houses H1004 of the gods H430 of Egypt H4714; and he shall burn H8313 (8804) them, and carry them away captives H7617 (8804): and he shall array H5844 (8804) himself with the land H776 of Egypt H4714, as a shepherd H7462 (8802) putteth on H5844 (8799) his garment H899; and he shall go forth H3318 (8804) from thence in peace H7965.
[13] He shall break H7665 (8765) also the images H4676 of Bethshemesh H1053, that [is] in the land H776 of Egypt H4714; and the houses H1004 of the gods H430 of the Egyptians H4714 shall he burn H8313 (8799) with fire H784.

Young’s Literal Translation

Jeremiah 43 (YLT)

[1] And it cometh to pass, when Jeremiah doth finish to speak unto all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, with which Jehovah their God hath sent him unto them-all these words-
[2] that Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the proud men, speak unto Jeremiah, saying, ‘Falsehood thou art speaking; Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Do not enter Egypt to sojourn there;
[3] for Baruch son of Neriah is moving thee against us, in order to give us up into the hand of the Chaldeans, to put us to death, and to remove us to Babylon.’
[4] And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, and all the people, have not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah, to dwell in the land of Judah;
[5] and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, take all the remnant of Judah who have turned from all the nations whither they were driven to sojourn in the land of Judah,
[6] the men, and the women, and the infant, and the daughters of the king, and every person that Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch son of Neriah,
[7] and they enter the land of Egypt, for they have not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah, and they enter unto Tahpanhes.
[8] And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
[9] ‘Take in thy hand great stones, and thou hast hidden them, in the clay, in the brick-kiln, that is at the opening of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, before the eyes of the men of Judah,
[10] and thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: ‘Lo, I am sending, and I have taken Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have set his throne above these stones that I have hid, and he hath stretched out his pavilion over them,
[11] and he hath come, and smitten the land of Egypt-those who are for death to death, and those who are for captivity to captivity, and those who are for the sword to the sword.
[12] And I have kindled a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and it hath burned them, and he hath taken them captive, and covered himself with the land of Egypt, as cover himself doth the shepherd with his garment, and he hath gone forth thence in peace;
[13] and he hath broken the standing pillars of the house of the sun, that is in the land of Egypt, and the houses of the gods of Egypt he doth burn with fire.’
