λαλησον τοις υιοις ισραηλ και ερεις προς αυτους και ποιησατωσαν εαυτοις κρασπεδα επι τα πτερυγια των ιματιων αυτων εις τας γενεας αυτων και επιθησετε επι τα κρασπεδα των πτερυγιων κλωσμα υακινθινον

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Yahweh’s assembly?”

συνεστησαν επι μωυσην και ααρων και ειπαν εχετω υμιν οτι πασα η συναγωγη παντες αγιοι και εν αυτοις κυριος και δια τι κατανιστασθε επι την συναγωγην κυριου

He said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning, Yahweh will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.

και ελαλησεν προς κορε και προς πασαν αυτου την συναγωγην λεγων επεσκεπται και εγνω ο θεος τους οντας αυτου και τους αγιους και προσηγαγετο προς εαυτον και ους εξελεξατο εαυτω προσηγαγετο προς εαυτον

Moses said to Korah, “Hear now, you sons of Levi!

και ειπεν μωυσης προς κορε εισακουσατε μου υιοι λευι

Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, “We won’t come up!

και απεστειλεν μωυσης καλεσαι δαθαν και αβιρων υιους ελιαβ και ειπαν ουκ αναβαινομεν

Moses was very angry, and said to Yahweh, “Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”

And Moses H4872 was very H3966 wroth, H2734 (QalImpf) and said H559 (QalImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 Respect H6437 (QalImpf) not thou their offering: H4503 I have not taken H5375 (QalPerf) one H259 ass H2543 from them, neither have I hurt H7489 (HiphPerf) one H259 of them.

και εβαρυθυμησεν μωυσης σφοδρα και ειπεν προς κυριον μη προσχης εις την θυσιαν αυτων ουκ επιθυμημα ουδενος αυτων ειληφα ουδε εκακωσα ουδενα αυτων

Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company go before Yahweh, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Korah, H7141 Be thou and all thy company H5712 before H6440 the Lord, H3068 thou, and they, and Aaron, H175 to morrow: H4279

και ειπεν μωυσης προς κορε αγιασον την συναγωγην σου και γινεσθε ετοιμοι εναντι κυριου συ και αυτοι και ααρων αυριον

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων λεγων

They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

“Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘Get away from around the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!’ ”

λαλησον τη συναγωγη λεγων αναχωρησατε κυκλω απο της συναγωγης κορε

He spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!”

και ελαλησεν προς την συναγωγην λεγων αποσχισθητε απο των σκηνων των ανθρωπων των σκληρων τουτων και μη απτεσθε απο παντων ων εστιν αυτοις μη συναπολησθε εν παση τη αμαρτια αυτων

Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that Yahweh has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

And Moses H4872 said, H559 (QalImpf) Hereby ye shall know H3045 (QalImpf) that the Lord H3068 hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) me to do H6213 (QalInf) all these works; H4639 for I have not done them of mine own mind. H3820

και ειπεν μωυσης εν τουτω γνωσεσθε οτι κυριος απεστειλεν με ποιησαι παντα τα εργα ταυτα οτι ουκ απ εμαυτου

All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!”

And all Israel H3478 that were round about H5439 them fled H5127 (QalPerf) at the cry H6963 of them: for they said, H559 (QalPerf) Lest the earth H776 swallow us up H1104 (QalImpf) also.

και πας ισραηλ οι κυκλω αυτων εφυγον απο της φωνης αυτων οτι λεγοντες μηποτε καταπιη ημας η γη

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

“Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire away from the camp; for they are holy,

^[17:2] και προς ελεαζαρ τον υιον ααρων τον ιερεα ανελεσθε τα πυρεια τα χαλκα εκ μεσου των κατακεκαυμενων και το πυρ το αλλοτριον τουτο σπειρον εκει οτι ηγιασαν

But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed Yahweh’s people!”

But on the morrow H4283 all the congregation H5712 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 murmured H3885 (NiphImpf) against Moses H4872 and against Aaron, H175 saying, H559 (QalInf) Ye have killed H4191 (HiphPerf) the people H5971 of the Lord. H3068

^[17:6] και εγογγυσαν οι υιοι ισραηλ τη επαυριον επι μωυσην και ααρων λεγοντες υμεις απεκταγκατε τον λαον κυριου

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) unto Moses, H4872 saying, H559 (QalInf)

^[17:9] και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων λεγων

Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from Yahweh! The plague has begun.”

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Aaron, H175 Take H3947 (QalImpv) a censer, H4289 and put H5414 (QalImpv) fire H784 therein from off H6440 the altar, H4196 and put H7760 (QalImpv) on incense, H7004 and go H3212 (HiphImpv) quickly H4120 unto the congregation, H5712 and make an atonement H3722 (PielImpv) for them: for there is wrath H7110 gone out H3318 (QalPerf) from the Lord; H3068 the plague H5063 is begun. ^[17:11] και ειπεν μωυσης προς ααρων λαβε το πυρειον και επιθες επ αυτο πυρ απο του θυσιαστηριου και επιβαλε επ αυτο θυμιαμα και απενεγκε το ταχος εις την παρεμβολην και εξιλασαι περι αυτων εξηλθεν γαρ οργη απο προσωπου κυριου ηρκται θραυειν τον λαον

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

Yahweh said to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the covenant, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their complaining against me, that they not die.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Bring H7725 Aaron’s H175 rod H4294 again H7725 (HiphImpv) before H6440 the testimony, H5715 to be kept H4931 for a token H226 against the rebels;^§ H4805 H1121 and thou shalt quite take away H3615 (PielImpf) their murmurings H8519 from me, that they die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

^[17:25] και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην αποθες την ραβδον ααρων ενωπιον των μαρτυριων εις διατηρησιν σημειον τοις υιοις των ανηκοων και παυσασθω ο γογγυσμος αυτων απ εμου και ου μη αποθανωσιν

The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, “Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 spake H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 saying, H559 (QalInf) Behold, we die, H1478 (QalPerf) we perish, H6 (QalPerf) we all perish. H6 (QalPerf)

^[17:27] και ειπαν οι υιοι ισραηλ προς μωυσην λεγοντες ιδου εξανηλωμεθα απολωλαμεν παρανηλωμεθα

Yahweh said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your fathers’ house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Aaron, H175 Thou and thy sons H1121 and thy father’s H1 house H1004 with thee shall bear H5375 (QalImpf) the iniquity H5771 of the sanctuary: H4720 and thou and thy sons H1121 with thee shall bear H5375 (QalImpf) the iniquity H5771 of your priesthood. και ειπεν κυριος προς ααρων λεγων συ και οι υιοι σου και ο οικος πατριας σου λημψεσθε τας αμαρτιας των αγιων και συ και οι υιοι σου λημψεσθε τας αμαρτιας της ιερατειας υμων

Yahweh said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.

And the Lord H3068 spake H559 (QalImpf) unto Aaron, H175 Thou shalt have no inheritance H5157 (QalImpf) in their land, H776 neither shalt thou have any part H2506 among H8432 them: I am thy part H2506 and thine inheritance H5159 among H8432 the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς ααρων εν τη γη αυτων ου κληρονομησεις και μερις ουκ εσται σοι εν αυτοις οτι εγω μερις σου και κληρονομια σου εν μεσω των υιων ισραηλ

For the tithe of the children of Israel, which they offer as a wave offering to Yahweh, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance. Therefore I have said to them, ‘Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.’ ”

οτι τα επιδεκατα των υιων ισραηλ οσα αν αφορισωσιν κυριω αφαιρεμα δεδωκα τοις λευιταις εν κληρω δια τουτο ειρηκα αυτοις εν μεσω υιων ισραηλ ου κληρονομησουσιν κληρον

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων

“Moreover you shall speak to the Levites, and tell them, ‘When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a wave offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe.

Thus speak H1696 (PielImpf) unto the Levites, H3881 and say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, When ye take H3947 (QalImpf) of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 the tithes H4643 which I have given H5414 (QalPerf) you from them for your inheritance, H5159 then ye shall offer H7311 (HiphPerf) up an heave offering H8641 of it for the Lord, H3068 even a tenth H4643 part of the tithe. και τοις λευιταις λαλησεις και ερεις προς αυτους εαν λαβητε παρα των υιων ισραηλ το επιδεκατον ο δεδωκα υμιν παρ αυτων εν κληρω και αφελειτε υμεις απ αυτου αφαιρεμα κυριω επιδεκατον απο του επιδεκατου

“Therefore you shall tell them, ‘When you heave its best from it, then it shall be credited to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the wine press.

Therefore thou shalt say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, When ye have heaved H7311 (HiphInf) the best H2459 thereof from it, then it shall be counted H2803 (NiphPerf) unto the Levites H3881 as the increase H8393 of the threshingfloor, H1637 and as the increase H8393 of the winepress. H3342

και ερεις προς αυτους οταν αφαιρητε την απαρχην απ αυτου και λογισθησεται τοις λευιταις ως γενημα απο αλω και ως γενημα απο ληνου

Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) unto Moses H4872 and unto Aaron, H175 saying, H559 (QalInf)

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων λεγων

“This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked.

This is the ordinance H2708 of the law H8451 which the Lord H3068 hath commanded, H6680 (PielPerf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Speak H1696 (PielImpv) unto the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 that they bring H3947 (QalImpf) thee a red H122 heifer H6510 without spot, H8549 wherein is no blemish, H3971 and upon which never H3808 came H5927 (QalPerf) yoke: H5923

αυτη η διαστολη του νομου οσα συνεταξεν κυριος λεγων λαλησον τοις υιοις ισραηλ και λαβετωσαν προς σε δαμαλιν πυρραν αμωμον ητις ουκ εχει εν αυτη μωμον και η ουκ επεβληθη επ αυτην ζυγος

The people quarreled with Moses, and spoke, saying, “We wish that we had died when our brothers died before Yahweh!

And the people H5971 chode H7378 (QalImpf) with Moses, H4872 and spake, H559 (QalImpf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Would God that H3863 we had died H1478 (QalPerf) when our brethren H251 died H1478 (QalInf) before H6440 the Lord! H3068

και ελοιδορειτο ο λαος προς μωυσην λεγοντες οφελον απεθανομεν εν τη απωλεια των αδελφων ημων εναντι κυριου

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) unto Moses, H4872 saying, H559 (QalInf)

και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων

Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Shall we bring water out of this rock for you?”

And Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 gathered H6950 (HiphImpf) the congregation H6951 together before H6440 the rock, H5553 and he said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Hear H8085 (QalImpv) now, ye rebels; H4784 (QalActPtc) must we fetch H3318 (HiphImpf) you water H4325 out of this rock? H5553

και εξεκκλησιασεν μωυσης και ααρων την συναγωγην απεναντι της πετρας και ειπεν προς αυτους ακουσατε μου οι απειθεις μη εκ της πετρας ταυτης εξαξομεν υμιν υδωρ

Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you didn’t believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

And the Lord H3068 spake H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses H4872 and Aaron, H175 Because ye believed H539 (HiphPerf) me not, to sanctify H6942 (HiphInf) me in the eyes H5869 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 therefore ye shall not bring H935 (HiphImpf) this congregation H6951 into the land H776 which I have given H5414 (QalPerf) them.

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων οτι ουκ επιστευσατε αγιασαι με εναντιον υιων ισραηλ δια τουτο ουκ εισαξετε υμεις την συναγωγην ταυτην εις την γην ην δεδωκα αυτοις

Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying: “Your brother Israel says: You know all the travail that has happened to us;

And Moses H4872 sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 from Kadesh H6946 unto the king H4428 of Edom, H123 Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) thy brother H251 Israel, H3478 Thou knowest H3045 (QalPerf) all the travail H8513 that hath befallen H4672 (QalPerf) us:

και απεστειλεν μωυσης αγγελους εκ καδης προς βασιλεα εδωμ λεγων ταδε λεγει ο αδελφος σου ισραηλ συ επιστη παντα τον μοχθον τον ευροντα ημας

Edom said to him, “You shall not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against you.”

And Edom H123 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Thou shalt not pass H5674 (QalImpf) by me, lest I come out H3318 (QalImpf) against H7125 (QalInf) thee with the sword. H2719

και ειπεν προς αυτον εδωμ ου διελευση δι εμου ει δε μη εν πολεμω εξελευσομαι εις συναντησιν σοι

The children of Israel said to him, “We will go up by the highway; and if we drink your water, I and my livestock, then I will give its price. Only let me, without doing anything else, pass through on my feet.”

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, We will go H5927 (QalImpf) by the high way: H4546 and if I and my cattle H4735 drink H8354 (QalImpf) of thy water, H4325 then I will pay H5414 (QalPerf) H4377 for it: I will only, without doing any thing H1697 else, go through H5674 (QalImpf) on my feet. και λεγουσιν αυτω οι υιοι ισραηλ παρα το ορος παρελευσομεθα εαν δε του υδατος σου πιωμεν εγω τε και τα κτηνη δωσω τιμην σοι αλλα το πραγμα ουδεν εστιν παρα το ορος παρελευσομεθα

He said, “You shall not pass through.” Edom came out against him with many people, and with a strong hand.

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Thou shalt not go through. H5674 (QalImpf) And Edom H123 came out H3318 (QalImpf) against H7125 (QalInf) him with much H3515 people, H5971 and with a strong H2389 hand. H3027

ο δε ειπεν ου διελευση δι εμου και εξηλθεν εδωμ εις συναντησιν αυτω εν οχλω βαρει και εν χειρι ισχυρα

Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying,

And the Lord H3068 spake H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 in mount H2022 Hor, H2023 by the coast H1366 of the land H776 of Edom, H123 saying, H559 (QalInf)

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων εν ωρ τω ορει επι των οριων γης εδωμ λεγων

Israel vowed a vow to Yahweh, and said, “If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.”

And Israel H3478 vowed H5087 (QalImpf) a vow H5088 unto the Lord, H3068 and said, H559 (QalImpf) If thou wilt indeed H5414 (QalInf) deliver H5414 (QalImpf) this people H5971 into my hand, H3027 then I will utterly destroy H2763 (HiphPerf) their cities. H5892

και ηυξατο ισραηλ ευχην κυριω και ειπεν εαν μοι παραδως τον λαον τουτον υποχειριον αναθεματιω αυτον και τας πολεις αυτου

The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.

Therefore the people H5971 came H935 (QalImpf) to Moses, H4872 and said, H559 (QalImpf) We have sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) for we have spoken H1696 (PielPerf) against the Lord, H3068 and against thee; pray H6419 (HithImpv) unto the Lord, H3068 that he take away H5493 (HiphImpf) the serpents H5175 from us. And Moses H4872 prayed H6419 (HithImpf) for the people. H5971

και παραγενομενος ο λαος προς μωυσην ελεγον οτι ημαρτομεν οτι κατελαλησαμεν κατα του κυριου και κατα σου ευξαι ουν προς κυριον και αφελετω αφ ημων τον οφιν και ηυξατο μωυσης προς κυριον περι του λαου

Yahweh said to Moses, “Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Make H6213 (QalImpv) thee a fiery serpent, H8314 and set H7760 (QalImpv) it upon a pole: H5251 and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, H5391 (QalPasPtc) when he looketh H7200 (QalPerf) upon it, shall live. H2425 (QalPerf)

δια τουτο ερουσιν οι αινιγματισται ελθετε εις εσεβων ινα οικοδομηθη και κατασκευασθη πολις σηων

Yahweh said to Moses, “Don’t fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people, and his land. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην μη φοβηθης αυτον οτι εις τας χειρας σου παραδεδωκα αυτον και παντα τον λαον αυτου και πασαν την γην αυτου και ποιησεις αυτω καθως εποιησας τω σηων βασιλει των αμορραιων ος κατωκει εν εσεβων

και ειπεν μωαβ τη γερουσια μαδιαμ νυν εκλειξει η συναγωγη αυτη παντας τους κυκλω ημων ως εκλειξαι ο μοσχος τα χλωρα εκ του πεδιου και βαλακ υιος σεπφωρ βασιλευς μωαβ ην κατα τον καιρον εκεινον
