Seek God’s Heart, Follow His Voice EGP Blog post from March 18, 2018

“It’s always been about seeking God’s heart with yours, and hearing and following His voice. God has always and will always bring it back to these core values.” —Equip God’s People

It can easily feel like the “Books of the Law” (specifically, ExodusDeuteronomy) are simply chock full of antiquated and inapplicable laws and commandments. However, God doesn’t change. [Malachi 3:6] And yet, Christ fulfilled the law for us and freed us from it. [Galatians 3:10–13] So, as we read in the Old Testament, we must remember that God is still showing us what love and holiness look like. It is a picture of God Himself.

With God, it’s always been about seeking His heart with yours, and hearing and following His voice. This is true even for the people in the Old Testament. God has always and will always bring it back to these core values.

Deuteronomy 4:29–31 (NASB)

[29] “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. [30] “When you are in distress and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days you will return to the Lord your God and listen to His voice. [31] “For the Lord your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.
