Deuteronomy 28 (WEBP)
[1] It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
[2] All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.
[3] You shall be blessed in the city, and you shall be blessed in the field.
[4] You shall be blessed in the fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the fruit of your animals, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock.
[5] Your basket and your kneading trough shall be blessed.
[6] You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out.
[7] Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.
[8] Yahweh will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to. He will bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
[9] Yahweh will establish you for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and walk in his ways.
[10] All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by Yahweh’s name, and they will be afraid of you.
[11] Yahweh will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give you.
[12] Yahweh will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.
[13] Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do,
[14] and shall not turn away from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
[15] But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come on you and overtake you.
[16] You will be cursed in the city, and you will be cursed in the field.
[17] Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.
[18] The fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock will be cursed.
[19] You will be cursed when you come in, and you will be cursed when you go out.
[20] Yahweh will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings, by which you have forsaken me.
[21] Yahweh will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from off the land where you go in to possess it.
[22] Yahweh will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with fiery heat, with the sword, with blight, and with mildew. They will pursue you until you perish.
[23] Your sky that is over your head will be bronze, and the earth that is under you will be iron.
[24] Yahweh will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed.
[25] Yahweh will cause you to be struck before your enemies. You will go out one way against them, and will flee seven ways before them. You will be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.
[26] Your dead bodies will be food to all birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth; and there will be no one to frighten them away.
[27] Yahweh will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with the tumors, with the scurvy, and with the itch, of which you can not be healed.
[28] Yahweh will strike you with madness, with blindness, and with astonishment of heart.
[29] You will grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. You will only be oppressed and robbed always, and there will be no one to save you.
[30] You will betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her. You will build a house, and you won’t dwell in it. You will plant a vineyard, and not use its fruit.
[31] Your ox will be slain before your eyes, and you will not eat any of it. Your donkey will be violently taken away from before your face, and will not be restored to you. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and you will have no one to save you.
[32] Your sons and your daughters will be given to another people. Your eyes will look and fail with longing for them all day long. There will be no power in your hand.
[33] A nation which you don’t know will eat the fruit of your ground and all of your work. You will only be oppressed and crushed always,
[34] so that the sights that you see with your eyes will drive you mad.
[35] Yahweh will strike you in the knees and in the legs with a sore boil, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.
[36] Yahweh will bring you, and your king whom you will set over yourselves, to a nation that you have not known, you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods of wood and stone.
[37] You will become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh will lead you away.
[38] You will carry much seed out into the field, and will gather little in, for the locust will consume it.
[39] You will plant vineyards and dress them, but you will neither drink of the wine, nor harvest, because worms will eat them.
[40] You will have olive trees throughout all your borders, but you won’t anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.
[41] You will father sons and daughters, but they will not be yours, for they will go into captivity.
[42] Locusts will consume all of your trees and the fruit of your ground.
[43] The foreigner who is among you will mount up above you higher and higher, and you will come down lower and lower.
[44] He will lend to you, and you won’t lend to him. He will be the head, and you will be the tail.
[45] All these curses will come on you, and will pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you didn’t listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded you.
[46] They will be for a sign and for a wonder to you and to your offspring forever.
[47] Because you didn’t serve Yahweh your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things;
[48] therefore you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh sends against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in lack of all things. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.
[49] Yahweh will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies: a nation whose language you will not understand,
[50] a nation of fierce facial expressions, that doesn’t respect the elderly, nor show favor to the young.
[51] They will eat the fruit of your livestock and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed. They also won’t leave you grain, new wine, oil, the increase of your livestock, or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish.
[52] They will besiege you in all your gates until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout all your land. They will besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land which Yahweh your God has given you.
[53] You will eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, whom Yahweh your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies will distress you.
[54] The man who is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye will be evil toward his brother, toward the wife whom he loves, and toward the remnant of his children whom he has remaining,
[55] so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left to him, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in all your gates.
[56] The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye will be evil toward the husband that she loves, toward her son, toward her daughter,
[57] toward her young one who comes out from between her feet, and toward her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of all things in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in your gates.
[58] If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, YAHWEH your God,
[59] then Yahweh will make your plagues and the plagues of your offspring fearful, even great plagues, and of long duration, and severe sicknesses, and of long duration.
[60] He will bring on you again all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they will cling to you.
[61] Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, Yahweh will bring them on you until you are destroyed.
[62] You will be left few in number, even though you were as the stars of the sky for multitude, because you didn’t listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.
[63] It will happen that as Yahweh rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Yahweh will rejoice over you to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be plucked from the land that you are going in to possess.
[64] Yahweh will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. There you will serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, even wood and stone.
[65] Among these nations you will find no ease, and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot; but Yahweh will give you there a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and pining of soul.
[66] Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be afraid night and day, and will have no assurance of your life.
[67] In the morning you will say, “I wish it were evening!” and at evening you will say, “I wish it were morning!” for the fear of your heart which you will fear, and for the sights which your eyes will see.
[68] Yahweh will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I told to you that you would never see it again. There you will offer yourselves to your enemies for male and female slaves, and nobody will buy you.

Deuteronomy 28 (KJVS)
[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken H8085 (8799) diligently H8085 (8800) unto the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, to observe H8104 (8800) [and] to do H6213 (8800) all his commandments H4687 which I command H6680 (8764) thee this day H3117, that the LORD H3068 thy God H430 will set H5414 (8804) thee on high H5945 above all nations H1471 of the earth H776:
[2] And all these blessings H1293 shall come H935 (8804) on thee, and overtake H5381 (8689) thee, if thou shalt hearken H8085 (8799) unto the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430.
[3] Blessed H1288 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] in the city H5892, and blessed H1288 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] in the field H7704.
[4] Blessed H1288 (8803) [shall be] the fruit H6529 of thy body H990, and the fruit H6529 of thy ground H127, and the fruit H6529 of thy cattle H929, the increase H7698 of thy kine H504, and the flocks H6251 of thy sheep H6629.
[5] Blessed H1288 (8803) [shall be] thy basket H2935 and thy store H4863.
[6] Blessed H1288 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest in H935 (8800), and blessed H1288 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest out H3318 (8800).
[7] The LORD H3068 shall cause H5414 (8799) thine enemies H341 (8802) that rise up H6965 (8801) against thee to be smitten H5062 (8737) before thy face H6440: they shall come out H3318 (8799) against thee one H259 way H1870, and flee H5127 (8799) before H6440 thee seven H7651 ways H1870.
[8] The LORD H3068 shall command H6680 (8762) the blessing H1293 upon thee in thy storehouses H618, and in all that thou settest H4916 thine hand H3027 unto; and he shall bless H1288 (8765) thee in the land H776 which the LORD H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (8802) thee.
[9] The LORD H3068 shall establish H6965 (8686) thee an holy H6918 people H5971 unto himself, as he hath sworn H7650 (8738) unto thee, if thou shalt keep H8104 (8799) the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, and walk H1980 (8804) in his ways H1870.
[10] And all people H5971 of the earth H776 shall see H7200 (8804) that thou art called H7121 (8738) by the name H8034 of the LORD H3068; and they shall be afraid H3372 (8804) of thee.
[11] And the LORD H3068 shall make thee plenteous H3498 (8689) in goods H2896, in the fruit H6529 of thy body H990, and in the fruit H6529 of thy cattle H929, and in the fruit H6529 of thy ground H127, in the land H127 which the LORD H3068 sware H7650 (8738) unto thy fathers H1 to give H5414 (8800) thee.
[12] The LORD H3068 shall open H6605 (8799) unto thee his good H2896 treasure H214, the heaven H8064 to give H5414 (8800) the rain H4306 unto thy land H776 in his season H6256, and to bless H1288 (8763) all the work H4639 of thine hand H3027: and thou shalt lend H3867 (8689) unto many H7227 nations H1471, and thou shalt not borrow H3867 (8799).
[13] And the LORD H3068 shall make H5414 (8804) thee the head H7218, and not the tail H2180; and thou shalt be above only H4605, and thou shalt not be beneath H4295; if that thou hearken H8085 (8799) unto the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, which I command H6680 (8764) thee this day H3117, to observe H8104 (8800) and to do H6213 (8800) [them]:
[14] And thou shalt not go aside H5493 (8799) from any of the words H1697 which I command H6680 (8764) thee this day H3117, [to] the right hand H3225, or [to] the left H8040, to go H3212 (8800) after H310 other H312 gods H430 to serve H5647 (8800) them.
[15] But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken H8085 (8799) unto the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, to observe H8104 (8800) to do H6213 (8800) all his commandments H4687 and his statutes H2708 which I command H6680 (8764) thee this day H3117; that all these curses H7045 shall come H935 (8804) upon thee, and overtake H5381 (8689) thee:
[16] Cursed H779 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] in the city H5892, and cursed H779 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] in the field H7704.
[17] Cursed H779 (8803) [shall be] thy basket H2935 and thy store H4863.
[18] Cursed H779 (8803) [shall be] the fruit H6529 of thy body H990, and the fruit H6529 of thy land H127, the increase H7698 of thy kine H504, and the flocks H6251 of thy sheep H6629.
[19] Cursed H779 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] when thou comest in H935 (8800), and cursed H779 (8803) [shalt] thou [be] when thou goest out H3318 (8800).
[20] The LORD H3068 shall send H7971 (8762) upon thee cursing H3994, vexation H4103, and rebuke H4045, in all that thou settest H4916 thine hand H3027 unto for to do H6213 (8799), until thou be destroyed H8045 (8736), and until thou perish H6 (8800) quickly H4118; because H6440 of the wickedness H7455 of thy doings H4611, whereby thou hast forsaken H5800 (8804) me.
[21] The LORD H3068 shall make the pestilence H1698 cleave H1692 (8686) unto thee, until he have consumed H3615 (8763) thee from off the land H127, whither thou goest H935 (8802) to possess H3423 (8800) it.
[22] The LORD H3068 shall smite H5221 (8686) thee with a consumption H7829, and with a fever H6920, and with an inflammation H1816, and with an extreme burning H2746, and with the sword H2719, and with blasting H7711, and with mildew H3420; and they shall pursue H7291 (8804) thee until thou perish H6 (8800).
[23] And thy heaven H8064 that [is] over thy head H7218 shall be brass H5178, and the earth H776 that is under thee [shall be] iron H1270.
[24] The LORD H3068 shall make H5414 (8799) the rain H4306 of thy land H776 powder H80 and dust H6083: from heaven H8064 shall it come down H3381 (8799) upon thee, until thou be destroyed H8045 (8736).
[25] The LORD H3068 shall cause H5414 (8799) thee to be smitten H5062 (8737) before H6440 thine enemies H341 (8802): thou shalt go out H3318 (8799) one H259 way H1870 against them, and flee H5127 (8799) seven H7651 ways H1870 before H6440 them: and shalt be removed H2189 into all the kingdoms H4467 of the earth H776.
[26] And thy carcase H5038 shall be meat H3978 unto all fowls H5775 of the air H8064, and unto the beasts H929 of the earth H776, and no man shall fray [them] away H2729 (8688).
[27] The LORD H3068 will smite H5221 (8686) thee with the botch H7822 of Egypt H4714, and with the emerods H2914 (8675) H6076, and with the scab H1618, and with the itch H2775, whereof thou canst H3201 (8799) not be healed H7495 (8736).
[28] The LORD H3068 shall smite H5221 (8686) thee with madness H7697, and blindness H5788, and astonishment H8541 of heart H3824:
[29] And thou shalt grope H4959 (8764) at noonday H6672, as the blind H5787 gropeth H4959 (8762) in darkness H653, and thou shalt not prosper H6743 (8686) in thy ways H1870: and thou shalt be only oppressed H6231 (8803) and spoiled H1497 (8803) evermore H3117, and no man shall save H3467 (8688) [thee].
[30] Thou shalt betroth H781 (8762) a wife H802, and another H312 man H376 shall lie H7901 (8799) (8675) H7693 (8799) with her: thou shalt build H1129 (8799) an house H1004, and thou shalt not dwell H3427 (8799) therein: thou shalt plant H5193 (8799) a vineyard H3754, and shalt not gather the grapes H2490 (8762) thereof.
[31] Thine ox H7794 [shall be] slain H2873 (8803) before thine eyes H5869, and thou shalt not eat H398 (8799) thereof: thine ass H2543 [shall be] violently taken away H1497 (8803) from before thy face H6440, and shall not be restored H7725 (8799) to thee: thy sheep H6629 [shall be] given H5414 (8803) unto thine enemies H341 (8802), and thou shalt have none to rescue H3467 (8688) [them].
[32] Thy sons H1121 and thy daughters H1323 [shall be] given H5414 (8803) unto another H312 people H5971, and thine eyes H5869 shall look H7200 (8802), and fail H3616 [with longing] for them all the day H3117 long: and [there shall be] no might H410 in thine hand H3027.
[33] The fruit H6529 of thy land H127, and all thy labours H3018, shall a nation H5971 which thou knowest H3045 (8804) not eat up H398 (8799); and thou shalt be only oppressed H6231 (8803) and crushed H7533 (8803) alway H3117:
[34] So that thou shalt be mad H7696 (8794) for the sight H4758 of thine eyes H5869 which thou shalt see H7200 (8799).
[35] The LORD H3068 shall smite H5221 (8686) thee in the knees H1290, and in the legs H7785, with a sore H7451 botch H7822 that cannot H3201 (8799) be healed H7495 (8736), from the sole H3709 of thy foot H7272 unto the top of thy head H6936.
[36] The LORD H3068 shall bring H3212 (8686) thee, and thy king H4428 which thou shalt set H6965 (8686) over thee, unto a nation H1471 which neither thou nor thy fathers H1 have known H3045 (8804); and there shalt thou serve H5647 (8804) other H312 gods H430, wood H6086 and stone H68.
[37] And thou shalt become an astonishment H8047, a proverb H4912, and a byword H8148, among all nations H5971 whither the LORD H3068 shall lead H5090 (8762) thee.
[38] Thou shalt carry H3318 much H7227 seed H2233 out H3318 (8686) into the field H7704, and shalt gather H622 [but] little H4592 in H622 (8799); for the locust H697 shall consume H2628 (8799) it.
[39] Thou shalt plant H5193 (8799) vineyards H3754, and dress H5647 (8804) [them], but shalt neither drink H8354 (8799) [of] the wine H3196, nor gather H103 (8799) [the grapes]; for the worms H8438 shall eat H398 (8799) them.
[40] Thou shalt have olive trees H2132 throughout all thy coasts H1366, but thou shalt not anoint H5480 (8799) [thyself] with the oil H8081; for thine olive H2132 shall cast H5394 (8799) [his fruit].
[41] Thou shalt beget H3205 (8686) sons H1121 and daughters H1323, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go H3212 (8799) into captivity H7628.
[42] All thy trees H6086 and fruit H6529 of thy land H127 shall the locust H6767 consume H3423 (8762).
[43] The stranger H1616 that [is] within H7130 thee shall get up H5927 (8799) above thee very H4605 high H4605; and thou shalt come down H3381 (8799) very H4295 low H4295.
[44] He shall lend H3867 (8686) to thee, and thou shalt not lend H3867 (8686) to him: he shall be the head H7218, and thou shalt be the tail H2180.
[45] Moreover all these curses H7045 shall come H935 (8804) upon thee, and shall pursue H7291 (8804) thee, and overtake H5381 (8689) thee, till thou be destroyed H8045 (8736); because thou hearkenedst H8085 (8804) not unto the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, to keep H8104 (8800) his commandments H4687 and his statutes H2708 which he commanded H6680 (8765) thee:
[46] And they shall be upon thee for a sign H226 and for a wonder H4159, and upon thy seed H2233 for H5704 ever H5769.
[47] Because thou servedst H5647 (8804) not the LORD H3068 thy God H430 with joyfulness H8057, and with gladness H2898 of heart H3824, for the abundance H7230 of all [things];
[48] Therefore shalt thou serve H5647 (8804) thine enemies H341 (8802) which the LORD H3068 shall send H7971 (8762) against thee, in hunger H7458, and in thirst H6772, and in nakedness H5903, and in want H2640 of all [things]: and he shall put H5414 (8804) a yoke H5923 of iron H1270 upon thy neck H6677, until he have destroyed H8045 (8687) thee.
[49] The LORD H3068 shall bring H5375 (8799) a nation H1471 against thee from far H7350, from the end H7097 of the earth H776, [as swift] as the eagle H5404 flieth H1675 (8799); a nation H1471 whose tongue H3956 thou shalt not understand H8085 (8799);
[50] A nation H1471 of fierce H5794 countenance H6440, which shall not regard H5375 (8799) the person H6440 of the old H2205, nor shew favour H2603 (8799) to the young H5288:
[51] And he shall eat H398 (8804) the fruit H6529 of thy cattle H929, and the fruit H6529 of thy land H127, until thou be destroyed H8045 (8736): which [also] shall not leave H7604 (8686) thee [either] corn H1715, wine H8492, or oil H3323, [or] the increase H7698 of thy kine H504, or flocks H6251 of thy sheep H6629, until he have destroyed H6 (8687) thee.
[52] And he shall besiege H6887 (8689) thee in all thy gates H8179, until thy high H1364 and fenced H1219 (8803) walls H2346 come down H3381 (8800), wherein H2004 thou trustedst H982 (8802), throughout all thy land H776: and he shall besiege H6887 (8689) thee in all thy gates H8179 throughout all thy land H776, which the LORD H3068 thy God H430 hath given H5414 (8804) thee.
[53] And thou shalt eat H398 (8804) the fruit H6529 of thine own body H990, the flesh H1320 of thy sons H1121 and of thy daughters H1323, which the LORD H3068 thy God H430 hath given H5414 (8804) thee, in the siege H4692, and in the straitness H4689, wherewith thine enemies H341 (8802) shall distress H6693 (8686) thee:
[54] [So that] the man H376 [that is] tender H7390 among you, and very H3966 delicate H6028, his eye H5869 shall be evil H3415 (8799) toward his brother H251, and toward the wife H802 of his bosom H2436, and toward the remnant H3499 of his children H1121 which he shall leave H3498 (8686):
[55] So that he will not give H5414 (8800) to any H259 of them of the flesh H1320 of his children H1121 whom he shall eat H398 (8799): because he hath nothing left H7604 (8689) him in the siege H4692, and in the straitness H4689, wherewith thine enemies H341 (8802) shall distress H6693 (8686) thee in all thy gates H8179.
[56] The tender H7390 and delicate H6028 woman among you, which would not adventure H5254 (8765) to set H3322 (8687) the sole H3709 of her foot H7272 upon the ground H776 for delicateness H6026 (8692) and tenderness H7391, her eye H5869 shall be evil H3415 (8799) toward the husband H376 of her bosom H2436, and toward her son H1121, and toward her daughter H1323,
[57] And toward her young one H7988 that cometh out H3318 (8802) from between her feet H7272, and toward her children H1121 which she shall bear H3205 (8799): for she shall eat H398 (8799) them for want H2640 of all [things] secretly H5643 in the siege H4692 and straitness H4689, wherewith thine enemy H341 (8802) shall distress H6693 (8686) thee in thy gates H8179.
[58] If thou wilt not observe H8104 (8799) to do H6213 (8800) all the words H1697 of this law H8451 that are written H3789 (8803) in this book H5612, that thou mayest fear H3372 (8800) this glorious H3513 (8737) and fearful H3372 (8737) name H8034, THE LORD H3068 THY GOD H430;
[59] Then the LORD H3068 will make H6381 thy plagues H4347 wonderful H6381 (8689), and the plagues H4347 of thy seed H2233, [even] great H1419 plagues H4347, and of long continuance H539 (8737), and sore H7451 sicknesses H2483, and of long continuance H539 (8737).
[60] Moreover he will bring H7725 (8689) upon thee all the diseases H4064 of Egypt H4714, which thou wast afraid H3025 (8804) of H6440; and they shall cleave H1692 (8804) unto thee.
[61] Also every sickness H2483, and every plague H4347, which [is] not written H3789 (8803) in the book H5612 of this law H8451, them will the LORD H3068 bring H5927 (8686) upon thee, until thou be destroyed H8045 (8736).
[62] And ye shall be left H7604 (8738) few H4592 in number H4962, whereas H834 ye were as the stars H3556 of heaven H8064 for multitude H7230; because thou wouldest not obey H8085 (8804) the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430.
[63] And it shall come to pass, [that] as the LORD H3068 rejoiced H7797 (8804) over you to do you good H3190 (8687), and to multiply H7235 (8687) you; so the LORD H3068 will rejoice H7797 (8799) over you to destroy H6 (8687) you, and to bring you to nought H8045 (8687); and ye shall be plucked H5255 (8738) from off the land H127 whither thou goest H935 (8802) to possess H3423 (8800) it.
[64] And the LORD H3068 shall scatter H6327 (8689) thee among all people H5971, from the one end H7097 of the earth H776 even unto the other H7097; and there thou shalt serve H5647 (8804) other H312 gods H430, which neither thou nor thy fathers H1 have known H3045 (8804), [even] wood H6086 and stone H68.
[65] And among these H1992 nations H1471 shalt thou find no ease H7280 (8686), neither shall the sole H3709 of thy foot H7272 have rest H4494: but the LORD H3068 shall give H5414 (8804) thee there a trembling H7268 heart H3820, and failing H3631 of eyes H5869, and sorrow H1671 of mind H5315:
[66] And thy life H2416 shall hang H8511 (8803) in doubt before H5048 thee; and thou shalt fear H6342 (8804) day H3119 and night H3915, and shalt have none assurance H539 (8686) of thy life H2416:
[67] In the morning H1242 thou shalt say H559 (8799), Would God it were H5414 (8799) even H6153! and at even H6153 thou shalt say H559 (8799), Would God it were H5414 (8799) morning H1242! for the fear H6343 of thine heart H3824 wherewith thou shalt fear H6342 (8799), and for the sight H4758 of thine eyes H5869 which thou shalt see H7200 (8799).
[68] And the LORD H3068 shall bring H7725 thee into Egypt H4714 again H7725 (8689) with ships H591, by the way H1870 whereof I spake H559 (8804) unto thee, Thou shalt see H7200 (8800) it no more again H3254 (8686): and there ye shall be sold H4376 (8694) unto your enemies H341 (8802) for bondmen H5650 and bondwomen H8198, and no man shall buy H7069 (8802) [you].
Young’s Literal Translation
Deuteronomy 28 (YLT)
[1] ‘And it hath been, if thou dost hearken diligently to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all His commands which I am commanding thee to-day, that Jehovah thy God hath made thee uppermost above all the nations of the earth,
[2] and all these blessings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee, because thou dost hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God:
[3] ‘Blessed art thou in the city, and blessed art thou in the field.
[4] ‘Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock.
[5] ‘Blessed is thy basket and thy kneading-trough.
[6] ‘Blessed art thou in thy coming in, and blessed art thou in thy going out.
[7] ‘Jehovah giveth thine enemies, who are rising up against thee-smitten before thy face; in one way they come out unto thee, and in seven ways they flee before thee.
[8] ‘Jehovah commandeth with thee the blessing in thy storehouses, and in every putting forth of thy hand, and hath blessed thee in the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee.
[9] ‘Jehovah doth establish thee to Himself for a holy people, as He hath sworn to thee, when thou keepest the commands of Jehovah thy God, and hast walked in His ways;
[10] and all the peoples of the land have seen that the name of Jehovah is called upon thee, and they have been afraid of thee.
[11] ‘And Jehovah hath made thee abundant in good, in the fruit of the womb, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, on the ground which Jehovah hath sworn to thy fathers to give to thee.
[12] ‘Jehovah doth open to thee his good treasure-the heavens-to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand, and thou hast lent to many nations, and thou-thou dost not borrow.
[13] ‘And Jehovah hath given thee for head, and not for tail; and thou hast been only above, and art not beneath, for thou dost hearken unto the commands of Jehovah thy God, which I am commanding thee to-day, to keep and to do,
[14] and thou dost not turn aside from all the words which I am commanding you to-day-right or left-to go after other gods, to serve them.
[15] ‘And it hath been, if thou dost not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God to observe to do all His commands, and His statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day, that all these revilings have come upon thee, and overtaken thee:
[16] ‘Cursed art thou in the city, and cursed art thou in the field.
[17] ‘Cursed is thy basket and thy kneading-trough.
[18] ‘Cursed is the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock.
[19] ‘Cursed art thou in thy coming in, and cursed art thou in thy going out.
[20] ‘Jehovah doth send on thee the curse, the trouble, and the rebuke, in every putting forth of thy hand which thou dost, till thou art destroyed, and till thou perish hastily, because of the evil of thy doings by which thou hast forsaken Me.
[21] ‘Jehovah doth cause to cleave to thee the pestilence, till He consume thee from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it.
[22] ‘Jehovah doth smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with extreme burning, and with sword, and with blasting, and with mildew, and they have pursued thee till thou perish
[23] ‘And thy heavens which are over thy head have been brass, and the earth which is under thee iron;
[24] Jehovah giveth the rain of thy land-dust and ashes; from the heavens it cometh down on thee till thou art destroyed.
[25] ‘Jehovah giveth thee smitten before thine enemies; in one way thou goest out unto them, and in seven ways dost flee before them, and thou hast been for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth;
[26] and thy carcase hath been for food to every fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth, and there is none causing trembling.
[27] ‘Jehovah doth smite thee with the ulcer of Egypt, and with emerods, and with scurvy, and with itch, of which thou art not able to be healed.
[28] ‘Jehovah doth smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;
[29] and thou hast been gropling at noon, as the blind gropeth in darkness; and thou dost not cause thy ways to prosper; and thou hast been only oppressed and plundered all the days, and there is no saviour.
[30] ‘A woman thou dost betroth, and another man doth lie with her; a house thou dost build, and dost not dwell in it; a vineyard thou dost plant, and dost not make it common;
[31] thine ox is slaughtered before thine eyes, and thou dost not eat of it; thine ass is taken violently away from before thee, and it is not given back to thee; thy sheep are given to thine enemies, and there is no saviour for thee.
[32] ‘Thy sons and thy daughters are given to another people, and thine eyes are looking and consuming for them all the day, and thy hand is not to God!
[33] The fruit of thy ground, and all thy labour, eat up doth a people whom thou hast not known; and thou hast been only oppressed and bruised all the days;
[34] and thou hast been mad, because of the sight of thine eyes which thou dost see.
[35] ‘Jehovah doth smite thee with an evil ulcer, on the knees, and on the legs (of which thou art not able to be healed), from the sole of thy foot even unto thy crown.
[36] ‘Jehovah doth cause thee to go, and thy king whom thou raisest up over thee, unto a nation which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers, and thou hast served there other gods, wood and stone;
[37] and thou hast been for an astonishment, for a simile, and for a byword among all the peoples whither Jehovah doth lead thee.
[38] ‘Much seed thou dost take out into the field, and little thou dost gather in, for the locust doth consume it;
[39] vineyards thou dost plant, and hast laboured, and wine thou dost not drink nor gather, for the worm doth consume it;
[40] olives are to thee in all thy border, and oil thou dost not pour out, for thine olive doth fall off.
[41] ‘Sons and daughters thou dost beget, and they are not with thee, for they go into captivity;
[42] all thy trees and the fruit of thy ground doth the locust possess;
[43] the sojourner who is in thy midst goeth up above thee very high, and thou goest down very low;
[44] he doth lend to thee, and thou dost not lend to him; he is for head, and thou art for tail.
[45] ‘And come upon thee have all these curses, and they have pursued thee, and overtaken thee, till thou art destroyed, because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep His commands, and His statutes, which he hath commanded thee;
[46] and they have been on thee for a sign and for a wonder, also on thy seed-to the age.
[47] ‘Because that thou hast not served Jehovah thy God with joy, and with gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things-
[48] thou hast served thine enemies, whom Jehovah sendeth against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in lack of all things; and he hath put a yoke of iron on thy neck, till He hath destroyed thee.
[49] ‘Jehovah doth lift up against thee a nation, from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle it flieth; a nation whose tongue thou hast not heard,
[50] a nation-fierce of countenance-which accepteth not the face of the aged, and the young doth not favour;
[51] and it hath eaten the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, till thou art destroyed; which leaveth not to thee corn, new wine, and oil, increase of thine oxen, and wealth of thy flock, till it hath destroyed thee.
[52] ‘And it hath laid siege to thee in all thy gates, till thy walls come down, the high and the fenced ones in which thou art trusting, in all thy land; yea, it hath laid siege to thee in all thy gates, in all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given to thee;
[53] and thou hast eaten the fruit of thy body, flesh of thy sons and thy daughters (whom Jehovah thy God hath given to thee), in the siege, and in the straitness with which thine enemies do straiten thee.
[54] ‘The man who is tender in thee, and who is very delicate-his eye is evil against his brother, and against the wife of his bosom, and against the remnant of his sons whom he leaveth,
[55] against giving to one of them of the flesh of his sons whom he eateth, because he hath nothing left to him, in the siege, and in the straitness with which thine enemy doth straiten thee in all thy gates.
[56] ‘The tender woman in thee, and the delicate, who hath not tried the sole of her foot to place on the ground because of delicateness and because of tenderness-her eye is evil against the husband of her bosom, and against her son, and against her daughter,
[57] and against her seed which cometh out from between her feet, even against her sons whom she doth bear, for she doth eat them for the lacking of all things in secret, in the siege and in the straitness with which thine enemy doth straiten thee within thy gates.
[58] ‘If thou dost not observe to do all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honoured and fearful name-Jehovah thy God-
[59] then hath Jehovah made wonderful thy strokes, and the strokes of thy seed-great strokes, and stedfast, and evil sicknesses, and stedfast.
[60] ‘And He hath brought back on thee all the diseases of Egypt, of the presence of which thou hast been afraid, and they have cleaved to thee;
[61] also every sickness and every stroke which is not written in the book of this law; Jehovah doth cause them to go up upon thee till thou art destroyed,
[62] and ye have been left with few men, instead of which ye have been as stars of the heavens for multitude, because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God.
[63] ‘And it hath been, as Jehovah hath rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so doth Jehovah rejoice over you to destroy you, and to lay you waste; and ye have been pulled away from off the ground whither thou art going in to possess it;
[64] and Jehovah hath scattered thee among all the peoples, from the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth; and thou hast served there other gods which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers-wood and stone.
[65] ‘And among those nations thou dost not rest, yea, there is no resting-place for the sole of thy foot, and Jehovah hath given to thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and grief of soul;
[66] and thy life hath been hanging in suspense before thee, and thou hast been afraid by night and by day, and dost not believe in thy life;
[67] in the morning thou sayest, O that it were evening! and in the evening thou sayest, O that it were morning! from the fear of thy heart, with which thou art afraid, and from the sight of thine eyes which thou seest.
[68] ‘And Jehovah hath brought thee back to Egypt with ships, by a way of which I said to thee, Thou dost not add any more to see it, and ye have sold yourselves there to thine enemies, for men-servants and for maid-servants, and there is no buyer.’
