Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.

But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.

αλλα πασας τας πολεις τας κεχωματισμενας ουκ ενεπρησεν ισραηλ πλην ασωρ μονην ενεπρησεν ιησους

The children of Israel took all the plunder of these cities, with the livestock, as plunder for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.

There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.

For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

και ουτοι οι βασιλεις των αμορραιων ους ανειλεν ιησους και οι υιοι ισραηλ εν τω περαν του ιορδανου παρα θαλασσαν βααλγαδ εν τω πεδιω του λιβανου και εως του ορους χελχα αναβαινοντων εις σηιρ και εδωκεν αυτην ιησους ταις φυλαις ισραηλ κληρονομειν κατα κληρον αυτων

all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, even all the Sidonians. I will drive them out from before the children of Israel. Just allocate it to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

Nevertheless the children of Israel didn’t drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath live within Israel to this day.

και νυν διεθρεψεν με κυριος ον τροπον ειπεν τουτο τεσσαρακοστον και πεμπτον ετος αφ ου ελαλησεν κυριος το ρημα τουτο προς μωυσην και επορευθη ισραηλ εν τη ερημω και νυν ιδου εγω σημερον ογδοηκοντα και πεντε ετων

Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed Yahweh, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.

και κατελειφθησαν οι υιοι ισραηλ οι ουκ εκληρονομησαν επτα φυλαι

Joshua said to the children of Israel, “How long will you neglect to go in to possess the land, which Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has given you?

και ειπεν ιησους τοις υιοις ισραηλ εως τινος εκλυθησεσθε κληρονομησαι την γην ην εδωκεν κυριος ο θεος ημων

Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Yahweh. There Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.

και ενεβαλεν αυτοις ιησους κληρον εν σηλω εναντι κυριου

So they finished distributing the land for inheritance by its borders. The children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them.

και επορευθησαν εμβατευσαι την γην κατα το οριον αυτων και εδωκαν οι υιοι ισραηλ κληρον ιησοι τω υιω ναυη εν αυτοις

These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance by lot in Shiloh before Yahweh, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. So they finished dividing the land.

αυται αι διαιρεσεις ας κατεκληρονομησεν ελεαζαρ ο ιερευς και ιησους ο του ναυη και οι αρχοντες των πατριων εν ταις φυλαις ισραηλ κατα κληρους εν σηλω εναντιον κυριου παρα τας θυρας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου και επορευθησαν εμβατευσαι την γην

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Assign the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by Moses,

These were the appointed cities for all the children of Israel, and for the alien who lives among them, that whoever kills any person unintentionally might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stands trial before the congregation.

αυται αι πολεις αι επικλητοι τοις υιοις ισραηλ και τω προσηλυτω τω προσκειμενω εν αυτοις καταφυγειν εκει παντι παιοντι ψυχην ακουσιως ινα μη αποθανη εν χειρι του αγχιστευοντος το αιμα εως αν καταστη εναντι της συναγωγης εις κρισιν

Then the heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites came near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel.

και προσηλθοσαν οι αρχιπατριωται των υιων λευι προς ελεαζαρ τον ιερεα και προς ιησουν τον του ναυη και προς τους αρχιφυλους πατριων εκ των φυλων ισραηλ

The children of Israel gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of Yahweh, these cities with their pasture lands.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 gave H5414 (QalImpf) unto the Levites H3881 out of their inheritance, H5159 at the commandment H6310 of the Lord, H3068 these cities H5892 and their suburbs. H4054

και εδωκαν οι υιοι ισραηλ τοις λευιταις εν τω κατακληρονομειν δια προσταγματος κυριου τας πολεις και τα περισπορια αυτων

The children of Israel gave these cities with their pasture lands by lot to the Levites, as Yahweh commanded by Moses.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 gave H5414 (QalImpf) by lot H1486 unto the Levites H3881 these cities H5892 with their suburbs, H4054 as the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) by the hand H3027 of Moses. H4872

και εδωκαν οι υιοι ισραηλ τοις λευιταις τας πολεις και τα περισπορια αυτων ον τροπον ενετειλατο κυριος τω μωυση κληρωτι

All the cities of the Levites among the possessions of the children of Israel were forty-eight cities with their pasture lands.

All the cities H5892 of the Levites H3881 within H8432 the possession H272 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 were forty H705 and eight H8083 cities H5892 with their suburbs. H4054

πασαι αι πολεις των λευιτων εν μεσω κατασχεσεως υιων ισραηλ τεσσαρακοντα οκτω πολεις και τα περισπορια αυτων

So Yahweh gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers. They possessed it, and lived in it.

And the Lord H3068 gave H5414 (QalImpf) unto Israel H3478 all the land H776 which he sware H7650 (NiphPerf) to give H5414 (QalInf) unto their fathers; H1 and they possessed H3423 (QalImpf) it, and dwelt H3427 (QalImpf) therein.

και εδωκεν κυριος τω ισραηλ πασαν την γην ην ωμοσεν δουναι τοις πατρασιν αυτων και κατεκληρονομησαν αυτην και κατωκησαν εν αυτη

Nothing failed of any good thing which Yahweh had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

ου διεπεσεν απο παντων των ρηματων των καλων ων ελαλησεν κυριος τοις υιοις ισραηλ παντα παρεγενετο

The children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the land of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

And the children H1121 of Reuben H7205 and the children H1121 of Gad H1410 and the half H2677 tribe H7626 of Manasseh H4519 returned, H7725 (QalImpf) and departed H3212 (QalImpf) from the children H1121 of Israel H3478 out of Shiloh, H7887 which is in the land H776 of Canaan, H3667 to go H3212 (QalInf) unto the country H776 of Gilead, H1568 to the land H776 of their possession, H272 whereof they were possessed, H270 (NiphPerf) according to the word H6310 of the Lord H3068 by the hand H3027 of Moses. και επορευθησαν οι υιοι ρουβην και οι υιοι γαδ και το ημισυ φυλης υιων μανασση απο των υιων ισραηλ εκ σηλω εν γη χανααν απελθειν εις γην γαλααδ εις γην κατασχεσεως αυτων ην εκληρονομησαν αυτην δια προσταγματος κυριου εν χειρι μωυση
