Joshua 14 (WEBP)

[1] These are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed to them,
[2] by the lot of their inheritance, as Yahweh commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe.
[3] For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
[4] For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. They gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their pasture lands for their livestock and for their property.
[5] The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses, and they divided the land.
[6] Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the thing that Yahweh spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh Barnea.
[7] I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
[8] Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Yahweh my God.
[9] Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed Yahweh my God.’
[10] “Now, behold, Yahweh has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.
[11] As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.
[12] Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Yahweh spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as Yahweh said.”
[13] Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
[14] Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed Yahweh, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.
[15] Now the name of Hebron before was Kiriath Arba, after the greatest man among the Anakim. Then the land had rest from war.

Joshua 14 (KJVS)

[1] And these [are the countries] which the children H1121 of Israel H3478 inherited H5157 (8804) in the land H776 of Canaan H3667, which Eleazar H499 the priest H3548, and Joshua H3091 the son H1121 of Nun H5126, and the heads H7218 of the fathers H1 of the tribes H4294 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478, distributed for inheritance H5157 (8765) to them.
[2] By lot H1486 [was] their inheritance H5159, as the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765) by the hand H3027 of Moses H4872, for the nine H8672 tribes H4294, and [for] the half H2677 tribe H4294.
[3] For Moses H4872 had given H5414 (8804) the inheritance H5159 of two H8147 tribes H4294 and an half H2677 tribe H4294 on the other side H5676 Jordan H3383: but unto the Levites H3881 he gave H5414 (8804) none inheritance H5159 among H8432 them.
[4] For the children H1121 of Joseph H3130 were two H8147 tribes H4294, Manasseh H4519 and Ephraim H669: therefore they gave H5414 (8804) no part H2506 unto the Levites H3881 in the land H776, save cities H5892 to dwell H3427 (8800) [in], with their suburbs H4054 for their cattle H4735 and for their substance H7075.
[5] As the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 (8765) Moses H4872, so the children H1121 of Israel H3478 did H6213 (8804), and they divided H2505 (8799) the land H776.
[6] Then the children H1121 of Judah H3063 came H5066 (8799) unto Joshua H3091 in Gilgal H1537: and Caleb H3612 the son H1121 of Jephunneh H3312 the Kenezite H7074 said H559 (8799) unto him, Thou knowest H3045 (8804) the thing H1697 that the LORD H3068 said H1696 (8765) unto Moses H4872 the man H376 of God H430 concerning me H182 and thee H182 in Kadeshbarnea H6947.
[7] Forty H705 years H8141 old H1121 [was] I when Moses H4872 the servant H5650 of the LORD H3068 sent H7971 (8800) me from Kadeshbarnea H6947 to espy out H7270 (8763) the land H776; and I brought H7725 him word H1697 again H7725 (8686) as [it was] in mine heart H3824.
[8] Nevertheless my brethren H251 that went up H5927 (8804) with me made the heart H3820 of the people H5971 melt H4529 (8689): but I wholly H4390 (8765) followed H310 the LORD H3068 my God H430.
[9] And Moses H4872 sware H7650 (8735) on that day H3117, saying H559 (8800), Surely the land H776 whereon thy feet H7272 have trodden H1869 (8804) shall be thine inheritance H5159, and thy children’s H1121 for H5704 ever H5769, because thou hast wholly H4390 (8765) followed H310 the LORD H3068 my God H430.
[10] And now, behold, the LORD H3068 hath kept me alive H2421 (8689), as he said H1696 (8765), these forty H705 and five H2568 years H8141, even since H227 the LORD H3068 spake H1696 (8765) this word H1697 unto Moses H4872, while [the children of] Israel H3478 wandered H1980 (8804) in the wilderness H4057: and now, lo, I [am] this day H3117 fourscore H8084 and five H2568 years H8141 old H1121.
[11] As yet I [am as] strong H2389 this day H3117 as [I was] in the day H3117 that Moses H4872 sent H7971 (8800) me: as my strength H3581 [was] then, even so [is] my strength H3581 now, for war H4421, both to go out H3318 (8800), and to come in H935 (8800).
[12] Now therefore give H5414 (8798) me this mountain H2022, whereof the LORD H3068 spake H1696 (8765) in that day H3117; for thou heardest H8085 (8804) in that day H3117 how the Anakims H6062 [were] there, and [that] the cities H5892 [were] great H1419 [and] fenced H1219 (8803): if so be H194 the LORD H3068 [will be] with H854 me, then I shall be able to drive them out H3423 (8689), as the LORD H3068 said H1696 (8765).
[13] And Joshua H3091 blessed H1288 (8762) him, and gave H5414 (8799) unto Caleb H3612 the son H1121 of Jephunneh H3312 Hebron H2275 for an inheritance H5159.
[14] Hebron H2275 therefore became the inheritance H5159 of Caleb H3612 the son H1121 of Jephunneh H3312 the Kenezite H7074 unto this day H3117, because that he wholly H4390 (8765) followed H310 the LORD H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478.
[15] And the name H8034 of Hebron H2275 before H6440 [was] Kirjatharba H7153; [which Arba was] a great H1419 man H120 among the Anakims H6062. And the land H776 had rest H8252 (8804) from war H4421.

Young’s Literal Translation

Joshua 14 (YLT)

[1] And these are they of the sons of Israel who inherited in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, caused to inherit;
[2] by lot is their inheritance, as Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine of the tribes, and the half of the tribe;
[3] for Moses hath given the inheritance of two of the tribes, and of half of the tribe, beyond the Jordan, and to the Levites he hath not given an inheritance in their midst;
[4] for the sons of Joseph hath been two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they have not given a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle, and for their possessions;
[5] as Jehovah commanded Moses, so have the sons of Israel done, and they apportion the land.
[6] And the sons of Judah come nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite saith unto him, ‘Thou hast known the word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses the man of God, concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh-Barnea:
[7] a son of forty years am I in Moses, servant of Jehovah, sending me from Kadesh-Barnea, to spy the land, and I bring him back word as with my heart;
[8] and my brethren who have gone up with me have caused the heart of the people to melt, and I have been fully after Jehovah my God;
[9] and Moses sweareth in that day, saying, If not-the land on which thy foot hath trodden, to thee it is for inheritance, and to thy sons-to the age, for thou hast been fully after Jehovah my God.
[10] ‘And, now, lo, Jehovah hath kept me alive, as He hath spoken, these forty and five years, since Jehovah spake this word unto Moses, when Israel went in the wilderness; and now, lo, I am to-day a son of five and eighty years;
[11] yet am I to-day strong as in the day of Moses’ sending me; as my power then, so is my power now, for battle, and to go out, and to come in.
[12] ‘And now, give to me this hill-country, of which Jehovah spake in that day, for thou didst hear in that day, for Anakim are there, and cities, great, fenced; if so be Jehovah is with me, then I have dispossessed them, as Jehovah hath spoken.’
[13] And Joshua blesseth him, and giveth Hebron to Caleb son of Jephunneh for an inheritance,
[14] therefore hath Hebron been to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite for an inheritance unto this day, because that he was fully after Jehovah, God of Israel;
[15] and the name of Hebron formerly is Kirjath-Arba (he is the great man among the Anakim); and the land hath rest from war.
