Joshua 6 (WEBP)
[1] Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.
[2] Yahweh said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.
[3] All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.
[4] Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
[5] It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the city wall will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”
[6] Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh’s ark.”
[7] They said to the people, “Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before Yahweh’s ark.”
[8] It was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before Yahweh advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of Yahweh’s covenant followed them.
[9] The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the ark went after them. The trumpets sounded as they went.
[10] Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout.”
[11] So he caused Yahweh’s ark to go around the city, circling it once. Then they came into the camp, and stayed in the camp.
[12] Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up Yahweh’s ark.
[13] The seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams’ horns in front of Yahweh’s ark went on continually, and blew the trumpets. The armed men went in front of them. The rear guard came after Yahweh’s ark. The trumpets sounded as they went.
[14] The second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.
[15] On the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. On this day only they marched around the city seven times.
[16] At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for Yahweh has given you the city!
[17] The city shall be devoted, even it and all that is in it, to Yahweh. Only Rahab the prostitute shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
[18] But as for you, only keep yourselves from what is devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the devoted thing; so you would make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it.
[19] But all the silver, gold, and vessels of bronze and iron are holy to Yahweh. They shall come into Yahweh’s treasury.”
[20] So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they took the city.
[21] They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
[22] Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house, and bring the woman and all that she has out from there, as you swore to her.”
[23] The young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rahab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all of her relatives, and they set them outside of the camp of Israel.
[24] They burned the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of Yahweh’s house.
[25] But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
[26] Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
[27] So Yahweh was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.

Joshua 6 (KJVS)
[1] Now Jericho H3405 was straitly H5462 (8802) shut up H5462 (8794) because H6440 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478: none went out H3318 (8802), and none came in H935 (8802).
[2] And the LORD H3068 said H559 (8799) unto Joshua H3091, See H7200 (8798), I have given H5414 (8804) into thine hand H3027 Jericho H3405, and the king H4428 thereof, [and] the mighty men H1368 of valour H2428.
[3] And ye shall compass H5437 (8804) the city H5892, all [ye] men H582 of war H4421, [and] go round about H5362 (8687) the city H5892 once H6471 H259. Thus shalt thou do H6213 (8799) six H8337 days H3117.
[4] And seven H7651 priests H3548 shall bear H5375 (8799) before H6440 the ark H727 seven H7651 trumpets H7782 of rams’ horns H3104: and the seventh H7637 day H3117 ye shall compass H5437 (8799) the city H5892 seven H7651 times H6471, and the priests H3548 shall blow H8628 (8799) with the trumpets H7782.
[5] And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long H4900 (8800) [blast] with the ram’s H3104 horn H7161, [and] when ye hear H8085 (8800) the sound H6963 of the trumpet H7782, all the people H5971 shall shout H7321 (8686) with a great H1419 shout H8643; and the wall H2346 of the city H5892 shall fall down H5307 (8804) flat H8478, and the people H5971 shall ascend up H5927 (8804) every man H376 straight before him.
[6] And Joshua H3091 the son H1121 of Nun H5126 called H7121 (8799) the priests H3548, and said H559 (8799) unto them, Take up H5375 (8798) the ark H727 of the covenant H1285, and let seven H7651 priests H3548 bear H5375 (8799) seven H7651 trumpets H7782 of rams’ horns H3104 before H6440 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068.
[7] And he said H559 (8799) unto the people H5971, Pass on H5674 (8798), and compass H5437 (8798) the city H5892, and let him that is armed H2502 (8803) pass on H5674 (8799) before H6440 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068.
[8] And it came to pass, when Joshua H3091 had spoken H559 (8800) unto the people H5971, that the seven H7651 priests H3548 bearing H5375 (8802) the seven H7651 trumpets H7782 of rams’ horns H3104 passed on H5674 (8804) before H6440 the LORD H3068, and blew H8628 (8804) with the trumpets H7782: and the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 followed H1980 (8802) them H310.
[9] And the armed H2502 (8803) men went H1980 (8802) before H6440 the priests H3548 that blew H8628 (8802) (8675) H8628 (8804) with the trumpets H7782, and the rereward H622 (8764) came H1980 (8802) after H310 the ark H727, [the priests] going on H1980 (8800), and blowing H8628 (8800) with the trumpets H7782.
[10] And Joshua H3091 had commanded H6680 (8765) the people H5971, saying H559 (8800), Ye shall not shout H7321 (8686), nor make any noise H8085 (8686) with your voice H6963, neither shall [any] word H1697 proceed H3318 (8799) out of your mouth H6310, until the day H3117 I bid H559 (8800) you shout H7321 (8685); then shall ye shout H7321 (8689).
[11] So the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 compassed H5437 (8686) the city H5892, going about H5362 (8687) [it] once H6471 H259: and they came H935 (8799) into the camp H4264, and lodged H3885 (8799) in the camp H4264.
[12] And Joshua H3091 rose early H7925 (8686) in the morning H1242, and the priests H3548 took up H5375 (8799) the ark H727 of the LORD H3068.
[13] And seven H7651 priests H3548 bearing H5375 (8802) seven H7651 trumpets H7782 of rams’ horns H3104 before H6440 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068 went on H1980 (8802) continually H1980 (8800), and blew H8628 (8804) with the trumpets H7782: and the armed men H2502 (8803) went H1980 (8802) before H6440 them; but the rereward H622 (8764) came H1980 (8802) after H310 the ark H727 of the LORD H3068, [the priests] going on H1980 (8800), and blowing H8628 (8800) with the trumpets H7782.
[14] And the second H8145 day H3117 they compassed H5437 (8799) the city H5892 once H6471 H259, and returned H7725 (8799) into the camp H4264: so they did H6213 (8804) six H8337 days H3117.
[15] And it came to pass on the seventh H7637 day H3117, that they rose early H7925 (8686) about the dawning H5927 (8800) of the day H7837, and compassed H5437 (8799) the city H5892 after the same manner H4941 seven H7651 times H6471: only on that day H3117 they compassed H5437 (8804) the city H5892 seven H7651 times H6471.
[16] And it came to pass at the seventh H7637 time H6471, when the priests H3548 blew H8628 (8804) with the trumpets H7782, Joshua H3091 said H559 (8799) unto the people H5971, Shout H7321 (8685); for the LORD H3068 hath given H5414 (8804) you the city H5892.
[17] And the city H5892 shall be accursed H2764, [even] it, and all that [are] therein, to the LORD H3068: only Rahab H7343 the harlot H2181 (8802) shall live H2421 (8799), she and all that [are] with her in the house H1004, because she hid H2244 (8689) the messengers H4397 that we sent H7971 (8804).
[18] And ye, in any wise H7535 keep H8104 (8798) [yourselves] from the accursed thing H2764, lest ye make [yourselves] accursed H2763 (8686), when ye take H3947 (8804) of the accursed thing H2764, and make H7760 (8804) the camp H4264 of Israel H3478 a curse H2764, and trouble H5916 (8804) it.
[19] But all the silver H3701, and gold H2091, and vessels H3627 of brass H5178 and iron H1270, [are] consecrated H6944 unto the LORD H3068: they shall come H935 (8799) into the treasury H214 of the LORD H3068.
[20] So the people H5971 shouted H7321 (8686) when [the priests] blew H8628 (8799) with the trumpets H7782: and it came to pass, when the people H5971 heard H8085 (8800) the sound H6963 of the trumpet H7782, and the people H5971 shouted H7321 (8686) with a great H1419 shout H8643, that the wall H2346 fell down flat H5307 (8799), so that the people H5971 went up H5927 (8799) into the city H5892, every man H376 straight before him, and they took H3920 (8799) the city H5892.
[21] And they utterly destroyed H2763 (8686) all that [was] in the city H5892, both man H376 and woman H802, young H5288 and old H2205, and ox H7794, and sheep H7716, and ass H2543, with the edge H6310 of the sword H2719.
[22] But Joshua H3091 had said H559 (8804) unto the two H8147 men H582 that had spied out H7270 (8764) the country H776, Go H935 (8798) into the harlot’s H2181 (8802) house H1004, and bring out H3318 (8685) thence the woman H802, and all that she hath, as ye sware H7650 (8738) unto her.
[23] And the young men H5288 that were spies H7270 (8764) went in H935 (8799), and brought out H3318 (8686) Rahab H7343, and her father H1, and her mother H517, and her brethren H251, and all that she had; and they brought out H3318 (8689) all her kindred H4940, and left H3240 (8686) them without H2351 the camp H4264 of Israel H3478.
[24] And they burnt H8313 (8804) the city H5892 with fire H784, and all that [was] therein: only the silver H3701, and the gold H2091, and the vessels H3627 of brass H5178 and of iron H1270, they put H5414 (8804) into the treasury H214 of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068.
[25] And Joshua H3091 saved H2421 Rahab H7343 the harlot H2181 (8802) alive H2421 (8689), and her father’s H1 household H1004, and all that she had; and she dwelleth H3427 (8799) in H7130 Israel H3478 [even] unto this day H3117; because she hid H2244 (8689) the messengers H4397, which Joshua H3091 sent H7971 (8804) to spy out H7270 (8763) Jericho H3405.
[26] And Joshua H3091 adjured H7650 (8686) [them] at that time H6256, saying H559 (8800), Cursed H779 (8803) [be] the man H376 before H6440 the LORD H3068, that riseth up H6965 (8799) and buildeth H1129 (8804) this city H5892 Jericho H3405: he shall lay the foundation H3245 (8762) thereof in his firstborn H1060, and in his youngest H6810 [son] shall he set up H5324 (8686) the gates H1817 of it.
[27] So the LORD H3068 was with Joshua H3091; and his fame H8089 was [noised] throughout all the country H776.
Young’s Literal Translation
Joshua 6 (YLT)
[1] (And Jericho shutteth itself up, and is shut up, because of the presence of the sons of Israel-none going out, and none coming in;)
[2] And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, ‘See, I have given into thy hand Jericho and its king-mighty ones of valour,
[3] and ye have compassed the city-all the men of battle-going round the city once; thus thou dost six days;
[4] and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark, and on the seventh day ye compass the city seven times, and the priests blow with the trumpets,
[5] and it hath been, in the prolongation of the horn of the jubilee, in your hearing the voice of the trumpet, all the people shout-a great shout, and the wall of the city hath fallen under it, and the people have gone up, each over-against him.’
[6] And Joshua son of Nun calleth unto the priests, and saith unto them, ‘Bear ye the ark of the covenant, and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark of Jehovah;’
[7] and He said unto the people, ‘Pass over, and compass the city, and he who is armed doth pass over before the ark of Jehovah.’
[8] And it cometh to pass, when Joshua speaketh unto the people, that the seven priests bearing seven trumpets of the jubilee before Jehovah have passed over and blown with the trumpets, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is going after them;
[9] and he who is armed is going before the priests blowing the trumpets, and he who is gathering up is going after the ark, going on and blowing with the trumpets;
[10] and the people hath Joshua commanded, saying, ‘Ye do not shout, nor cause your voice to be heard, nor doth there go out from your mouth a word, till the day of my saying unto you, Shout ye-then ye have shouted.’
[11] And the ark of Jehovah doth compass the city, going round once, and they come into the camp, and lodge in the camp.
[12] And Joshua riseth early in the morning, and the priests bear the ark of Jehovah,
[13] and seven priests bearing seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark of Jehovah are walking, going on, and they have blown with the trumpets-and he who is armed is going before them, and he who is gathering up is going behind the ark of Jehovah-going on and blowing with the trumpets.
[14] And they compass the city on the second day once, and turn back to the camp; thus they have done six days.
[15] And it cometh to pass, on the seventh day, that they rise early, at the ascending of the dawn, and compass the city, according to this manner, seven times; (only, on that day they have compassed the city seven times);
[16] and it cometh to pass, at the seventh time, the priests have blown with the trumpets, and Joshua saith unto the people, ‘Shout ye, for Jehovah hath given to you the city;
[17] and the city hath been devoted, it and all that is in it, to Jehovah; only Rahab the harlot doth live, she and all who are with her in the house, for she hid the messengers whom we sent;
[18] and surely ye have kept from the devoted thing, lest ye devote yourselves, and have taken from the devoted thing, and have made the camp of Israel become a devoted thing, and have troubled it;
[19] and all the silver and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, holy they are to Jehovah; into the treasury of Jehovah they come.’
[20] And the people shout, and blow with the trumpets, and it cometh to pass when the people hear the voice of the trumpet, that the people shout-a great shout, and the wall falleth under it, and the people goeth up into the city, each over-against him, and they capture the city;
[21] and they devote all that is in the city, from man even unto woman, from young even unto aged, even unto ox, and sheep, and ass, by the mouth of the sword.
[22] And to the two men who are spying the land Joshua said, ‘Go into the house of the woman, the harlot, and bring out thence the woman, and all whom she hath, as ye have sworn to her.’
[23] And the young man, the spies, go in and bring out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all whom she hath; yea, all her families they have brought out, and place them at the outside of the camp of Israel.
[24] And the city they have burnt with fire, and all that is in it; only, the silver and the gold, and the vessels of brass, and of iron, they have given to the treasury of the house of Jehovah;
[25] and Rahab the harlot, and the house of her father, and all whom she hath, hath Joshua kept alive; and she dwelleth in the midst of Israel unto this day, for she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
[26] And Joshua adjureth them at that time, saying, ‘Cursed is the man before Jehovah who raiseth up and hath built this city, even Jericho; in his first-born he doth lay its foundation, and in his youngest he doth set up its doors;’
[27] and Jehovah is with Joshua, and his fame is in all the land.
