και εγενετο εν τω τριακοστω ετει εν τω τεταρτω μηνι πεμπτη του μηνος και εγω ημην εν μεσω της αιχμαλωσιας επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και ηνοιχθησαν οι ουρανοι και ειδον ορασεις θεου

Yahweh’s^§ word came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and Yahweh’s hand was there on him.

Ezekiel 1:3 “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “Lord” (all caps) in other translations.

the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came expressly unto Ezekiel^§ H3168 the priest, H3548 the son H1121 of Buzi, H941 in the land H776 of the Chaldeans H3778 by the river H5104 Chebar; H3529 and the hand H3027 of the Lord H3068 was there upon him.

Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel Aviv who lived by the river Chebar, and to where they lived; and I sat there overwhelmed among them seven days.

Then I arose, and went out into the plain, and behold, Yahweh’s glory stood there, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar. Then I fell on my face.

και ανεστην και εξηλθον εις το πεδιον και ιδου εκει δοξα κυριου ειστηκει καθως η ορασις και καθως η δοξα ην ειδον επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου

The cherubim mounted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

και ηραν τα χερουβιν τουτο το ζωον ο ειδον επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ

This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim.

This is the living creature H2416 that I saw H7200 (QalPerf) under the God H430 of Israel H3478 by the river H5104 of Chebar; H3529 and I knew H3045 (QalImpf) that they were the cherubims. H3742

τουτο το ζωον εστιν ο ειδον υποκατω θεου ισραηλ επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και εγνων οτι χερουβιν εστιν

As for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves. They each went straight forward.

και ομοιωσις των προσωπων αυτων ταυτα τα προσωπα εστιν α ειδον υποκατω της δοξης θεου ισραηλ επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και αυτα εκαστον κατα προσωπον αυτων επορευοντο

It was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
