The servants of Achish said to him, “Isn’t this David the king of the land? Didn’t they sing to one another about him in dances, saying, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

^[21:12] και ειπαν οι παιδες αγχους προς αυτον ουχι ουτος δαυιδ ο βασιλευς της γης ουχι τουτω εξηρχον αι χορευουσαι λεγουσαι επαταξεν σαουλ εν χιλιασιν αυτου και δαυιδ εν μυριασιν αυτου

David laid up these words in his heart, and was very afraid of Achish the king of Gath.

Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you see the man is insane. Why then have you brought him to me?

David arose and passed over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

David lived with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.

και εκαθισεν δαυιδ μετα αγχους εν γεθ αυτος και οι ανδρες αυτου εκαστος και ο οικος αυτου και δαυιδ και αμφοτεραι αι γυναικες αυτου αχινααμ η ιεζραηλιτις και αβιγαια η γυνη ναβαλ του καρμηλιου

David said to Achish, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?”

And David H1732 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Achish, H397 If I have now found H4672 (QalPerf) grace H2580 in thine eyes, H5869 let them give H5414 (QalImpf) me a place H4725 in some H259 town H5892 in the country, H7704 that I may dwell H3427 (QalImpf) there: for why should thy servant H5650 dwell H3427 (QalImpf) in the royal H4467 city H5892 with thee?

και ειπεν δαυιδ προς αγχους ει δη ευρηκεν ο δουλος σου χαριν εν οφθαλμοις σου δοτωσαν δη μοι τοπον εν μια των πολεων των κατ αγρον και καθησομαι εκει και ινα τι καθηται ο δουλος σου εν πολει βασιλευομενη μετα σου

Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: therefore Ziklag belongs to the kings of Judah to this day.

David struck the land, and saved no man or woman alive, and took away the sheep, the cattle, the donkeys, the camels, and the clothing. Then he returned, and came to Achish.

και ετυπτε την γην και ουκ εζωογονει ανδρα και γυναικα και ελαμβανεν ποιμνια και βουκολια και ονους και καμηλους και ιματισμον και ανεστρεψαν και ηρχοντο προς αγχους

Achish said, “Against whom have you made a raid today?” David said, “Against the South of Judah, against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.”

And Achish H397 said, H559 (QalImpf) Whither H408 have ye made a road H6584 (QalPerf) to day? H3117 And David H1732 said, H559 (QalImpf) Against the south H5045 of Judah, H3063 and against the south H5045 of the Jerahmeelites, H3397 and against the south H5045 of the Kenites. H7017

και ειπεν αγχους προς δαυιδ επι τινα επεθεσθε σημερον και ειπεν δαυιδ προς αγχους κατα νοτον της ιουδαιας και κατα νοτον ιεσμεγα και κατα νοτον του κενεζι

Achish believed David, saying, “He has made his people Israel utterly to abhor him. Therefore he will be my servant forever.”

And Achish H397 believed H539 (HiphImpf) David, H1732 saying, H559 (QalInf) He hath made his people H5971 Israel H3478 utterly H887 (HiphInf) to abhor H887 (HiphPerf) him; therefore he shall be my servant H5650 for ever. H5769

και επιστευθη δαυιδ εν τω αγχους σφοδρα λεγων ησχυνται αισχυνομενος εν τω λαω αυτου εν ισραηλ και εσται μοι δουλος εις τον αιωνα

In those days, the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. Achish said to David, “Know assuredly that you will go out with me in the army, you and your men.”

And it came to pass in those days, H3117 that the Philistines H6430 gathered H6908 their armies H4264 together H6908 (QalImpf) for warfare, H6635 to fight H3898 (NiphInf) with Israel. H3478 And Achish H397 said H559 (QalImpf) unto David, H1732 Know H3045 (QalImpf) thou assuredly, H3045 (QalInf) that thou shalt go out H3318 (QalImpf) with me to battle, H4264 thou and thy men. H582

και εγενηθη εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και συναθροιζονται αλλοφυλοι εν ταις παρεμβολαις αυτων εξελθειν πολεμειν μετα ισραηλ και ειπεν αγχους προς δαυιδ γινωσκων γνωσει οτι μετ εμου εξελευσει εις πολεμον συ και οι ανδρες σου

David said to Achish, “Therefore you will know what your servant can do.” Achish said to David, “Therefore I will make you my bodyguard forever.”

και ειπεν δαυιδ προς αγχους ουτω νυν γνωσει α ποιησει ο δουλος σου και ειπεν αγχους προς δαυιδ ουτως αρχισωματοφυλακα θησομαι σε πασας τας ημερας

The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.

And the lords H5633 of the Philistines H6430 passed on H5674 (QalActPtc) by hundreds, H3967 and by thousands: H505 but David H1732 and his men H582 passed on H5674 (QalActPtc) in the rereward H314 with Achish. H397

και σατραπαι αλλοφυλων παρεπορευοντο εις εκατονταδας και χιλιαδας και δαυιδ και οι ανδρες αυτου παρεπορευοντο επ εσχατων μετα αγχους

Then the princes of the Philistines said, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, “Isn’t this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years? I have found no fault in him since he fell away until today.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) the princes H8269 of the Philistines, H6430 What [do] these Hebrews H5680 [here]? And Achish H397 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the princes H8269 of the Philistines, H6430 [Is] not this David, H1732 the servant H5650 of Saul H7586 the king H4428 of Israel, H3478 which hath been with me these days, H3117 or these years, H8141 and I have found H4672 (QalPerf) no fault H3972 in him since H3117 he fell H5307 (QalInf) [unto me] unto this day? H3117

και ειπον οι σατραπαι των αλλοφυλων τινες οι διαπορευομενοι ουτοι και ειπεν αγχους προς τους στρατηγους των αλλοφυλων ουχ ουτος δαυιδ ο δουλος σαουλ βασιλεως ισραηλ γεγονεν μεθ ημων ημερας τουτο δευτερον ετος και ουχ ευρηκα εν αυτω ουθεν αφ ης ημερας ενεπεσεν προς με και εως της ημερας ταυτης

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.

Then Achish H397 called H7121 (QalImpf) David, H1732 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Surely, [as] the Lord H3068 liveth, H2416 thou hast been upright, H3477 and thy going out H3318 (QalInf) and thy coming in H935 (QalInf) with me in the host H4264 [is] good H2896 in my sight: H5869 for I have not found H4672 (QalPerf) evil H7451 in thee since the day H3117 of thy coming H935 (QalInf) unto me unto this day: H3117 nevertheless the lords H5633 favour H2896 thee not. H5869

και εκαλεσεν αγχους τον δαυιδ και ειπεν αυτω ζη κυριος οτι ευθης συ και αγαθος εν οφθαλμοις μου και η εξοδος σου και η εισοδος σου μετ εμου εν τη παρεμβολη και οτι ουχ ευρηκα κατα σου κακιαν αφ ης ημερας ηκεις προς με εως της σημερον ημερας και εν οφθαλμοις των σατραπων ουκ αγαθος συ

David said to Achish, “But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”

And David H1732 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Achish, H397 But what have I done? H6213 (QalPerf) and what hast thou found H4672 (QalPerf) in thy servant H5650 so long as H3117 I have been with thee H6440 unto this day, H3117 that I may not go H935 (QalImpf) fight H3898 (NiphPerf) against the enemies H341 (QalActPtc) of my lord H113 the king? και ειπεν δαυιδ προς αγχους τι πεποιηκα σοι και τι ευρες εν τω δουλω σου αφ ης ημερας ημην ενωπιον σου και εως της ημερας ταυτης οτι ου μη ελθω πολεμησαι τους εχθρους του κυριου μου του βασιλεως

Achish answered David, “I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’

And Achish H397 answered H6030 (QalImpf) and said H559 (QalImpf) to David, H1732 I know H3045 (QalPerf) that thou [art] good H2896 in my sight, H5869 as an angel H4397 of God: H430 notwithstanding the princes H8269 of the Philistines H6430 have said, H559 (QalPerf) He shall not go up H5927 (QalImpf) with us to the battle. H4421

και απεκριθη αγχους προς δαυιδ οιδα οτι αγαθος συ εν οφθαλμοις μου αλλ οι σατραπαι των αλλοφυλων λεγουσιν ουχ ηξει μεθ ημων εις πολεμον

At the end of three years, two of Shimei’s slaves ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, “Behold, your slaves are in Gath.”

And it came to pass at the end H7093 of three H7969 years, H8141 that two H8147 of the servants H5650 of Shimei H8096 ran away H1272 (QalImpf) unto Achish H397 son H1121 of Maachah H4601 king H4428 of Gath. H1661 And they told H5046 (HiphImpf) Shimei, H8096 saying, H559 (QalInf) Behold, thy servants H5650 [be] in Gath. H1661

και εγενηθη μετα τρια ετη και απεδρασαν δυο δουλοι του σεμει προς αγχους υιον μααχα βασιλεα γεθ και απηγγελη τω σεμει λεγοντες ιδου οι δουλοι σου εν γεθ

Shimei arose, saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his slaves; and Shimei went and brought his slaves from Gath.

And Shimei H8096 arose, H6965 (QalImpf) and saddled H2280 (QalImpf) his ass, H2543 and went H3212 (QalImpf) to Gath H1661 to Achish H397 to seek H1245 (PielInf) his servants: H5650 and Shimei H8096 went, H3212 (QalImpf) and brought H935 (HiphImpf) his servants H5650 from Gath. H1661

και ανεστη σεμει και επεσαξε την ονον αυτου και επορευθη εις γεθ προς αγχους του εκζητησαι τους δουλους αυτου και επορευθη σεμει και ηγαγεν τους δουλους αυτου εκ γεθ
