Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, “Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”

τοτε ηρωτησαμεν τους πρεσβυτερους εκεινους και ουτως ειπαμεν αυτοις τις εθηκεν υμιν γνωμην τον οικον τουτον οικοδομησαι και την χορηγιαν ταυτην καταρτισασθαι

Moreover I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king’s goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses must be given with all diligence to these men, that they not be hindered.

και απ εμου ετεθη γνωμη μηποτε τι ποιησητε μετα των πρεσβυτερων των ιουδαιων του οικοδομησαι οικον του θεου εκεινον και απο υπαρχοντων βασιλεως των φορων περαν του ποταμου επιμελως δαπανη εστω διδομενη τοις ανδρασιν εκεινοις το μη καταργηθηναι

There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, have not respected you. They don’t serve your gods, and don’t worship the golden image which you have set up.”

εισιν ανδρες ιουδαιοι ους κατεστησας επι τα εργα της χωρας βαβυλωνος σεδραχ μισαχ αβδεναγω οι ανδρες εκεινοι ουχ υπηκουσαν βασιλευ τω δογματι σου τοις θεοις σου ου λατρευουσιν και τη εικονι τη χρυση η εστησας ου προσκυνουσιν

Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. Then these men were brought before the king.

τοτε ναβουχοδονοσορ εν θυμω και οργη ειπεν αγαγειν τον σεδραχ μισαχ και αβδεναγω και ηχθησαν ενωπιον του βασιλεως

Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were cast into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

τοτε οι ανδρες εκεινοι επεδηθησαν συν τοις σαραβαροις αυτων και τιαραις και περικνημισι και ενδυμασιν αυτων και εβληθησαν εις μεσον της καμινου του πυρος της καιομενης

Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Therefore H3606 H6903 because H4481 H1836 the king’s H4430 commandment H4406 was urgent, H2685 (AphPtc) and the furnace H861 exceeding H3493 hot, H228 (PealPasPtc) the flame H7631 of the fire H5135 slew H6992 (PaelPerf) those H479 men H1400 H1994 that took up H5267 (AphPerf) Shadrach, H7715 Meshach, H4336 and Abednego. επει το ρημα του βασιλεως υπερισχυεν και η καμινος εξεκαυθη εκ περισσου

These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

And these H479 three H8532 men, H1400 Shadrach, H7715 Meshach, H4336 and Abednego, H5665 fell down H5308 (PealPerf) bound H3729 (PaelPtc) into the midst H1459 of the burning H3345 (PealActPtc) fiery H5135 furnace. H861

και οι τρεις ουτοι σεδραχ μισαχ και αβδεναγω επεσον εις μεσον της καμινου του πυρος της καιομενης πεπεδημενοι ^[3:24] και περιεπατουν εν μεσω της φλογος υμνουντες τον θεον και ευλογουντες τον κυριον

The local governors, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies. The hair of their head wasn’t singed. Their pants weren’t changed. The smell of fire wasn’t even on them.

And the princes, H324 governors, H5460 and captains, H6347 and the king’s H4430 counsellors, H1907 being gathered together, H3673 (ItpaPtc) saw H2370 (PealActPtc) these H479 men, H1400 upon whose bodies H1655 the fire H5135 had no H3809 power, H7981 (PealPerf) nor H3809 was an hair H8177 of their head H7217 singed, H2761 (ItpaPerf) neither H3809 were their coats H5622 changed, H8133 (PealPerf) nor H3809 the smell H7382 of fire H5135 had passed H5709 (PealPerf) on them.

^[3:94] και συναγονται οι σατραπαι και οι στρατηγοι και οι τοπαρχαι και οι δυνασται του βασιλεως και εθεωρουν τους ανδρας οτι ουκ εκυριευσεν το πυρ του σωματος αυτων και η θριξ της κεφαλης αυτων ουκ εφλογισθη και τα σαραβαρα αυτων ουκ ηλλοιωθη και οσμη πυρος ουκ ην εν αυτοις

Then these men said, “We won’t find any occasion against this Daniel, unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

^[6:6] και ειπον οι τακτικοι ουχ ευρησομεν κατα δανιηλ προφασιν ει μη εν νομιμοις θεου αυτου

Then these men assembled together, and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.

Then these men assembled together to the king, and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no decree nor statute which the king establishes may be changed.”

^[6:16] τοτε οι ανδρες εκεινοι λεγουσιν τω βασιλει γνωθι βασιλευ οτι δογμα μηδοις και περσαις του παν ορισμον και στασιν ην αν ο βασιλευς στηση ου δει παραλλαξαι

The king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions—them, their children, and their wives; and the lions mauled them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they came to the bottom of the den.

^[6:25] και ειπεν ο βασιλευς και ηγαγοσαν τους ανδρας τους διαβαλοντας τον δανιηλ και εις τον λακκον των λεοντων ενεβληθησαν αυτοι και οι υιοι αυτων και αι γυναικες αυτων και ουκ εφθασαν εις το εδαφος του λακκου εως ου εκυριευσαν αυτων οι λεοντες και παντα τα οστα αυτων ελεπτυναν
