Yahweh said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal° to this day.

He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of Yahweh’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”

ο δε ειπεν αυτω εγω αρχιστρατηγος δυναμεως κυριου νυνι παραγεγονα και ιησους επεσεν επι προσωπον επι την γην και ειπεν αυτω δεσποτα τι προστασσεις τω σω οικετη

The prince of Yahweh’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals, for the place on which you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.

Joshua 6:10 Heb. make your voice to be heard

τω δε λαω ενετειλατο ιησους λεγων μη βοατε μηδε ακουσατω μηθεις υμων την φωνην εως αν ημεραν αυτος διαγγειλη αναβοησαι και τοτε αναβοησετε

Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up Yahweh’s ark.

But Rahab the prostitute, her father’s household, and all that she had, Joshua saved alive. She lives in the middle of Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

So Yahweh was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.

Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, “Go up and spy out the land.” The men went up and spied out Ai.

Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before Yahweh’s ark until the evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.

Yahweh said to Joshua, “Get up! Why have you fallen on your face like that?

So Joshua rose up early in the morning and brought Israel near by their tribes. The tribe of Judah was selected.

Joshua said to Achan, “My son, please give glory to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and make confession to him. Tell me now what you have done! Don’t hide it from me!”

και ειπεν ιησους τω αχαρ δος δοξαν σημερον τω κυριω θεω ισραηλ και δος την εξομολογησιν και αναγγειλον μοι τι εποιησας και μη κρυψης απ εμου

Achan answered Joshua, and said, “I have truly sinned against Yahweh, the God of Israel, and this is what I have done.

And Achan H5912 answered H6030 (QalImpf) Joshua, H3091 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Indeed H546 I have sinned H2398 (QalPerf) against the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel, H3478 and thus and thus have I done: H6213 (QalPerf)

και απεκριθη αχαρ τω ιησοι και ειπεν αληθως ημαρτον εναντιον κυριου θεου ισραηλ ουτως και ουτως εποιησα

So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent. Behold, it was hidden in his tent, with the silver under it.

They took them from the middle of the tent, and brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel. They laid them down before Yahweh.

Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? Yahweh will trouble you today.” All Israel stoned him with stones, and they burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.

And Joshua H3091 said, H559 (QalImpf) Why H4100 hast thou troubled H5916 (QalPerf) us? the Lord H3068 shall trouble H5916 (QalImpf) thee this day. και ειπεν ιησους τω αχαρ τι ωλεθρευσας ημας εξολεθρευσαι σε κυριος καθα και σημερον και ελιθοβολησαν αυτον λιθοις πας ισραηλ

Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed. Take all the warriors with you, and arise, go up to Ai. Behold, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, with his people, his city, and his land.

και ειπεν κυριος προς ιησουν μη φοβηθης μηδε δειλιασης λαβε μετα σου τους ανδρας παντας τους πολεμιστας και αναστας αναβηθι εις γαι ιδου δεδωκα εις τας χειρας σου τον βασιλεα γαι και την γην αυτου

So Joshua arose, with all the warriors, to go up to Ai. Joshua chose thirty thousand men, the mighty men of valor, and sent them out by night.

Joshua sent them out; and they went to set up the ambush, and stayed between Bethel and Ai on the west side of Ai; but Joshua stayed among the people that night.

Joshua rose up early in the morning, mustered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai.

So they set the people, even all the army who was on the north of the city, and their ambush on the west of the city; and Joshua went that night into the middle of the valley.

Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.

All the people who were in the city were called together to pursue after them. They pursued Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.

και κατεδιωξαν οπισω των υιων ισραηλ και αυτοι απεστησαν απο της πολεως

Yahweh said to Joshua, “Stretch out the javelin that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” Joshua stretched out the javelin that was in his hand toward the city.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Joshua, H3091 Stretch out H5186 (QalImpv) the spear H3591 that is in thy hand H3027 toward Ai; H5857 for I will give H5414 (QalImpf) it into thine hand. Israel took for themselves only the livestock and the goods of that city, according to Yahweh’s word which he commanded Joshua.
