και ανεστη αβια απο του ορους σομορων ο εστιν εν τω ορει εφραιμ και ειπεν ακουσατε ιεροβοαμ και πας ισραηλ

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord.

και νυν λεγετε υμεις αντιστηναι κατα προσωπον βασιλειας κυριου δια χειρος υιων δαυιδ και υμεις πληθος πολυ και μεθ υμων μοσχοι χρυσοι ους εποιησεν υμιν ιεροβοαμ εις θεους

But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.

Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took cities from him: Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages, and Ephron with its villages.

And Abijah H29 pursued H7291 (QalImpf) after H310 Jeroboam, H3379 and took H3920 (QalImpf) cities H5892 from him, Beth-el H1008 with the towns H1323 thereof, and Jeshanah H3466 with the towns H1323 thereof, and Ephrain H6085 with the towns H1323 thereof.

και κατεδιωξεν αβια οπισω ιεροβοαμ και προκατελαβετο παρ αυτου πολεις την βαιθηλ και τας κωμας αυτης και την ισανα και τας κωμας αυτης και την εφρων και τας κωμας αυτης

Jeroboam didn’t recover strength again in the days of Abijah. Yahweh struck him, and he died.

Neither did Jeroboam H3379 recover H6113 (QalPerf) strength H3581 again in the days H3117 of Abijah: H29 and the Lord H3068 struck H5062 (QalImpf) him, and he died. H4191 (QalImpf)

For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’ ”
