και ανδρας δια παντος διαστελουσιν επιπορευομενους την γην θαψαι τους καταλελειμμενους επι προσωπου της γης καθαρισαι αυτην μετα την επταμηνον και εκζητησουσιν

In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, in the same day, Yahweh’s hand was on me, and he brought me there.

και εγενετο εν τω πεμπτω και εικοστω ετει της αιχμαλωσιας ημων εν τω πρωτω μηνι δεκατη του μηνος εν τω τεσσαρεσκαιδεκατω ετει μετα το αλωναι την πολιν εν τη ημερα εκεινη εγενετο επ εμε χειρ κυριου και ηγαγεν με

It shall be the prince’s part to give the burnt offerings, the meal offerings, and the drink offerings, in the feasts, and on the new moons, and on the Sabbaths, in all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He shall prepare the sin offering, the meal offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.”

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull without defect, and you shall cleanse the sanctuary.

ταδε λεγει κυριος θεος εν τω πρωτω μηνι μια του μηνος λημψεσθε μοσχον εκ βοων αμωμον του εξιλασασθαι το αγιον

So you shall do on the seventh day of the month for everyone who errs, and for him who is simple. So you shall make atonement for the house.

“ ‘ “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.

“ ‘ “In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, during the feast, he shall do like that for seven days. He shall make the same provision for sin offering, the burnt offering, the meal offering, and the oil.”

και εν τω εβδομω μηνι πεντεκαιδεκατη του μηνος εν τη εορτη ποιησεις κατα τα αυτα επτα ημερας καθως τα υπερ της αμαρτιας και καθως τα ολοκαυτωματα και καθως το μαναα και καθως το ελαιον

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “The gate of the inner court that looks toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

ταδε λεγει κυριος θεος πυλη η εν τη αυλη τη εσωτερα η βλεπουσα προς ανατολας εσται κεκλεισμενη εξ ημερας τας ενεργους εν δε τη ημερα των σαββατων ανοιχθησεται και εν τη ημερα της νουμηνιας ανοιχθησεται

The people of the land shall worship at the door of that gate before Yahweh on the Sabbaths and on the new moons.

Likewise the people H5971 of the land H776 shall worship H7812 (HithPerf) at the door H6607 of this gate H8179 before H6440 the Lord H3068 in the sabbaths H7676 and in the new moons. H2320

και προσκυνησει ο λαος της γης κατα τα προθυρα της πυλης εκεινης εν τοις σαββατοις και εν ταις νουμηνιαις εναντιον κυριου

On the day of the new moon it shall be a young bull without defect, six lambs, and a ram. They shall be without defect.

και εν τη ημερα της νουμηνιας μοσχον αμωμον και εξ αμνους και κριος αμωμος εσται

By the river banks, on both sides, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.”

και επι του ποταμου αναβησεται επι του χειλους αυτου ενθεν και ενθεν παν ξυλον βρωσιμον ου μη παλαιωθη επ αυτου ουδε μη εκλιπη ο καρπος αυτου της καινοτητος αυτου πρωτοβολησει διοτι τα υδατα αυτων εκ των αγιων ταυτα εκπορευεται και εσται ο καρπος αυτων εις βρωσιν και αναβασις αυτων εις υγιειαν

εν ημερα εικοστη και τεταρτη του μηνος του πρωτου και εγω ημην εχομενα του ποταμου του μεγαλου αυτος εστιν εδδεκελ

I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.

^[2:13] και αποστρεψω πασας τας ευφροσυνας αυτης εορτας αυτης και τας νουμηνιας αυτης και τα σαββατα αυτης και πασας τας πανηγυρεις αυτης

They are unfaithful to Yahweh; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their fields.

“I also have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One field was rained on, and the field where it didn’t rain withered.

και εγω ανεσχον εξ υμων τον υετον προ τριων μηνων του τρυγητου και βρεξω επι πολιν μιαν επι δε πολιν μιαν ου βρεξω μερις μια βραχησεται και μερις εφ ην ου βρεξω επ αυτην ξηρανθησεται

saying, ‘When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, making the ephah° small, and the shekel° large, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;

Amos 8:5a 1 ephah is about 22 liters or about ²⁄₃ of a bushel
Amos 8:5b a normal shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces.

οι λεγοντες ποτε διελευσεται ο μην και εμπολησομεν και τα σαββατα και ανοιξομεν θησαυρους του ποιησαι μικρον μετρον και του μεγαλυναι σταθμια και ποιησαι ζυγον αδικον

In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s^§ word came by Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

In the seventh month, in the twenty-first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

In the seventh H7637 [month], in the one H259 and twentieth H6242 [day] of the month, H2320 came the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 by H3027 the prophet H5030 Haggai, H2292 saying, H559 (QalInf)

τω εβδομω μηνι μια και εικαδι του μηνος ελαλησεν κυριος εν χειρι αγγαιου του προφητου λεγων

Yahweh’s word came the second time to Haggai in the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, Yahweh’s word came to the prophet Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,

Upon the four H702 and twentieth H6242 day H3117 of the eleventh H6249 H6240 month, H2320 which [is] the month H2320 Sebat, H7627 in the second H8147 year H8141 of Darius, H1867 came the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 unto Zechariah, H2148 the son H1121 of Berechiah, H1296 the son H1121 of Iddo H5714 the prophet, H5030 saying, H559 (QalInf)

τη τετραδι και εικαδι τω ενδεκατω μηνι ουτος εστιν ο μην σαβατ εν τω δευτερω ετει επι δαρειου εγενετο λογος κυριου προς ζαχαριαν τον του βαραχιου υιον αδδω τον προφητην λεγων

In the fourth year of King Darius, Yahweh’s word came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, the month of Chislev.

And it came to pass in the fourth H702 year H8141 of king H4428 Darius, H1867 [that] the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto Zechariah H2148 in the fourth H702 [day] of the ninth H8671 month, H2320 [even] in Chisleu; H3691

και εγενετο εν τω τεταρτω ετει επι δαρειου του βασιλεως εγενετο λογος κυριου προς ζαχαριαν τετραδι του μηνος του ενατου ος εστιν χασελευ

and to speak to the priests of the house of Yahweh of Armies and to the prophets, saying, “Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?”

[And] to speak H559 (QalInf) unto the priests H3548 which [were] in the house H1004 of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 and to the prophets, H5030 saying, H559 (QalInf) Should I weep H1058 (QalImpf) in the fifth H2549 month, H2320 separating H5144 (NiphInf) myself, as I have done H6213 (QalPerf) these so many years?
