και επεσεν επ εμε πνευμα κυριου και ειπεν προς με λεγε ταδε λεγει κυριος ουτως ειπατε οικος ισραηλ και τα διαβουλια του πνευματος υμων εγω επισταμαι

“ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you will be brought out of the middle of it.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Your slain H2491 whom ye have laid H7760 (QalPerf) in the midst H8432 of it, they are the flesh, H1320 and this city is the caldron: H5518 but I will bring you forth H3318 (HiphPerf) out of the midst H8432 of it.

δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος τους νεκρους υμων ους επαταξατε εν μεσω αυτης ουτοι εισιν τα κρεα αυτη δε ο λεβης εστιν και υμας εξαξω εκ μεσου αυτης

When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

και εγενετο εν τω προφητευειν με και φαλτιας ο του βαναιου απεθανεν και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου και ανεβοησα φωνη μεγαλη και ειπα οιμμοι οιμμοι κυριε εις συντελειαν συ ποιεις τους καταλοιπους του ισραηλ

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

Again the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto me, saying, H559 (QalInf)

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

“Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are the ones to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.’

Son H1121 of man, H120 thy brethren, H251 even thy brethren, H251 the men H582 of thy kindred, H1353 and all the house H1004 of Israel H3478 wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem H3389 have said, H559 (QalPerf) Get you far H7368 (QalImpv) from the Lord: H3068 unto us is this land H776 given H5414 (NiphPerf) in possession. υιε ανθρωπου οι αδελφοι σου και οι ανδρες της αιχμαλωσιας σου και πας ο οικος του ισραηλ συντετελεσται οις ειπαν αυτοις οι κατοικουντες ιερουσαλημ μακραν απεχετε απο του κυριου ημιν δεδοται η γη εις κληρονομιαν

“Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.” ’

δια τουτο ειπον ταδε λεγει κυριος οτι απωσομαι αυτους εις τα εθνη και διασκορπιω αυτους εις πασαν την γην και εσομαι αυτοις εις αγιασμα μικρον εν ταις χωραις ου αν εισελθωσιν εκει

“Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”

In the morning, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με το πρωι λεγων

“Son of man, hasn’t the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, ‘What are you doing?’

Son H1121 of man, H120 hath not the house H1004 of Israel, H3478 the rebellious H4805 house, H1004 said H559 (QalPerf) unto thee, What doest H6213 (QalActPtc) thou?

υιε ανθρωπου ουκ ειπαν προς σε ο οικος του ισραηλ οικος ο παραπικραινων τι συ ποιεις

“Say to them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.” ’

Say H559 (QalImpv) thou unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 This burden H4853 concerneth the prince H5387 in Jerusalem, H3389 and all the house H1004 of Israel H3478 that are among H8432 them.

ειπον προς αυτους ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος ο αρχων και ο αφηγουμενος εν ιερουσαλημ και παντι οικω ισραηλ οι εισιν εν μεσω αυτων

“Say, ‘I am your sign. As I have done, so will it be done to them. They will go into exile, into captivity.

“Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?

υιε ανθρωπου τις υμιν η παραβολη αυτη επι της γης του ισραηλ λεγοντες μακραν αι ημεραι απολωλεν ορασις

Tell them therefore, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will make this proverb to cease, and they will no more use it as a proverb in Israel;” ’ but tell them, ‘ “The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.

δια τουτο ειπον προς αυτους ταδε λεγει κυριος αποστρεψω την παραβολην ταυτην και ουκετι μη ειπωσιν την παραβολην ταυτην οικος του ισραηλ οτι λαλησεις προς αυτους ηγγικασιν αι ημεραι και λογος πασης ορασεως

Again Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

“Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of times that are far off.’

υιε ανθρωπου ιδου οικος ισραηλ ο παραπικραινων λεγοντες λεγουσιν η ορασις ην ουτος ορα εις ημερας πολλας και εις καιρους μακρους ουτος προφητευει

“Therefore tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “None of my words will be deferred any more, but the word which I speak will be performed,” says the Lord Yahweh.’ ”

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word:

υιε ανθρωπου προφητευσον επι τους προφητας του ισραηλ και προφητευσεις και ερεις προς αυτους ακουσατε λογον κυριου

The Lord Yahweh says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Woe H1945 unto the foolish H5036 prophets, H5030 that follow^§ H1980 (QalActPtc) H310 their own spirit, H7307 and have seen H7200 (QalPerf) nothing!^§

ταδε λεγει κυριος ουαι τοις προφητευουσιν απο καρδιας αυτων και το καθολου μη βλεπουσιν

They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, ‘Yahweh says;’ but Yahweh has not sent them. They have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.

βλεποντες ψευδη μαντευομενοι ματαια οι λεγοντες λεγει κυριος και κυριος ουκ απεσταλκεν αυτους και ηρξαντο του αναστησαι λογον

Haven’t you seen a false vision, and haven’t you spoken a lying divination, in that you say, ‘Yahweh says;’ but I have not spoken?”

Have ye not seen H2372 (QalPerf) a vain H7723 vision, H4236 and have ye not spoken H1696 (PielPerf) a lying H3577 divination, H4738 whereas ye say, H559 (QalActPtc) The Lord H3068 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) it; albeit I have not spoken? H559 (QalPerf)

ουχ ορασιν ψευδη εωρακατε και μαντειας ματαιας ειρηκατε

“ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you,” says the Lord Yahweh.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Because ye have spoken H1696 (PielInf) vanity, H7723 and seen H2372 (QalPerf) lies, H3577 therefore, behold, I am against you, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God. H3069

δια τουτο ειπον ταδε λεγει κυριος ανθ ων οι λογοι υμων ψευδεις και αι μαντειαι υμων ματαιαι δια τουτο ιδου εγω εφ υμας λεγει κυριος

“ ‘Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, “Peace;” and there is no peace. When one builds up a wall, behold, they plaster it with whitewash.

Ezekiel 13:10 Or, a slight wall

ανθ ων τον λαον μου επλανησαν λεγοντες ειρηνη ειρηνη και ουκ ην ειρηνη και ουτος οικοδομει τοιχον και αυτοι αλειφουσιν αυτον ει πεσειται

Tell those who plaster it with whitewash that it will fall. There will be an overflowing shower; and you, great hailstones, will fall. A stormy wind will tear it.

ειπον προς τους αλειφοντας πεσειται και εσται υετος κατακλυζων και δωσω λιθους πετροβολους εις τους ενδεσμους αυτων και πεσουνται και πνευμα εξαιρον και ραγησεται

Behold, when the wall has fallen, won’t it be said to you, “Where is the plaster with which you have plastered it?”

Lo, when the wall H7023 is fallen, H5307 (QalPerf) shall it not be said H559 (NiphImpf) unto you, Where is the daubing H2915 wherewith ye have daubed H2902 (QalPerf) it?

και ιδου πεπτωκεν ο τοιχος και ουκ ερουσιν προς υμας που εστιν η αλοιφη υμων ην ηλειψατε

“ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath. There will be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 I will even rend H1234 (PielPerf) it with a stormy H5591 wind H7307 in my fury; H2534 and there shall be an overflowing H7857 (QalActPtc) shower H1653 in mine anger, H639 and great hailstones H417 H68 in my fury H2534 to consume H3617 it.

δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος και ρηξω πνοην εξαιρουσαν μετα θυμου και υετος κατακλυζων εν οργη μου εσται και τους λιθους τους πετροβολους εν θυμω επαξω εις συντελειαν

Thus I will accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have plastered it with whitewash. I will tell you, ‘The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it—

Thus will I accomplish H3615 (PielPerf) my wrath H2534 upon the wall, H7023 and upon them that have daubed H2902 (QalActPtc) it with untempered H8602 morter, and will say H559 (QalImpf) unto you, The wall H7023 is no more, neither they that daubed H2902 (QalActPtc) it;

και συντελεσω τον θυμον μου επι τον τοιχον και επι τους αλειφοντας αυτον και πεσειται και ειπα προς υμας ουκ εστιν ο τοιχος ουδε οι αλειφοντες αυτον

and say, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Woe to the women who sew magic bands on all elbows and make veils for the head of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people and save souls alive for yourselves?

and say, H559 (QalPerf) Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Woe H1945 to the women that sew H8609 (PielPtc) pillows H3704 to all armholes,^§ H679 H3027 and make H6213 (QalActPtc) kerchiefs H4555 upon the head H7218 of every stature H6967 to hunt H6679 (PoelInf) souls! H5315 Will ye hunt H6679 (PoelImpf) the souls H5315 of my people, H5971 and will ye save H2421 the souls H5315 alive H2421 (PielImpf) that come unto you?

Ezekiel 13:18 Or, elbows

και ερεις ταδε λεγει κυριος ουαι ταις συρραπτουσαις προσκεφαλαια επι παντα αγκωνα χειρος και ποιουσαις επιβολαια επι πασαν κεφαλην πασης ηλικιας του διαστρεφειν ψυχας αι ψυχαι διεστραφησαν του λαου μου και ψυχας περιεποιουντο

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I am against your magic bands, with which you hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms. I will let the souls fly free, even the souls whom you ensnare like birds.

Ezekiel 13:20 Or, into gardens

δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος ιδου εγω επι τα προσκεφαλαια υμων εφ α υμεις συστρεφετε εκει ψυχας και διαρρηξω αυτα απο των βραχιονων υμων και εξαποστελω τας ψυχας ας υμεις εκστρεφετε τας ψυχας αυτων εις διασκορπισμον

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

And the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto me, saying, H559 (QalInf)

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Every man of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face then comes to the prophet, I Yahweh will answer him there according to the multitude of his idols,

δια τουτο λαλησον αυτοις και ερεις προς αυτους ταδε λεγει κυριος ανθρωπος ανθρωπος εκ του οικου ισραηλ ος αν θη τα διανοηματα αυτου επι την καρδιαν αυτου και την κολασιν της αδικιας αυτου ταξη προ προσωπου αυτου και ελθη προς τον προφητην εγω κυριος αποκριθησομαι αυτω εν οις ενεχεται η διανοια αυτου

“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Return, and turn yourselves from your idols! Turn away your faces from all your abominations.

Ezekiel 14:6 Or, others

δια τουτο ειπον προς τον οικον του ισραηλ ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος επιστραφητε και αποστρεψατε απο των επιτηδευματων υμων και απο πασων των ασεβειων υμων και επιστρεψατε τα προσωπα υμων

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

The word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came again to me, saying, H559 (QalInf)

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off from it man and animal’—

Or if I bring H935 (HiphImpf) a sword H2719 upon that land, H776 and say, H559 (QalPerf) Sword, H2719 go through H5674 (QalImpf) the land; H776 so that I cut off H3772 (HiphPerf) man H120 and beast H929 from it:

η και ρομφαιαν εαν επαγω επι την γην εκεινην και ειπω ρομφαια διελθατω δια της γης και εξαρω εξ αυτης ανθρωπον και κτηνος

For the Lord Yahweh says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!

Ezekiel 14:21 Or, also when

ταδε λεγει κυριος εαν δε και τας τεσσαρας εκδικησεις μου τας πονηρας ρομφαιαν και λιμον και θηρια πονηρα και θανατον εξαποστειλω επι ιερουσαλημ του εξολεθρευσαι εξ αυτης ανθρωπον και κτηνος

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “As the vine wood among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
