ειπον προς τους υιους του λαου σου δικαιοσυνη δικαιου ου μη εξεληται αυτον εν η αν ημερα πλανηθη και ανομια ασεβους ου μη κακωση αυτον εν η αν ημερα αποστρεψη απο της ανομιας αυτου και δικαιος ου μη δυνηται σωθηναι

When I tell the righteous that he will surely live, if he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die in his iniquity that he has committed.

και εν τω ειπαι με τω ασεβει θανατω θανατωθηση και αποστρεψη απο της αμαρτιας αυτου και ποιηση κριμα και δικαιοσυνην

“ ‘Yet the children of your people say, “The way of the Lord is not fair;” but as for them, their way is not fair.

The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”

therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Surely in the fire of my jealousy I have spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.” ’

δια τουτο προφητευσον επι την γην του ισραηλ και ειπον τοις ορεσιν και τοις βουνοις και ταις φαραγξιν και ταις ναπαις ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω εν τω ζηλω μου και εν τω θυμω μου ελαλησα αντι του ονειδισμους εθνων ενεγκαι υμας

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because they say to you, ‘You are a devourer of men, and have been a bereaver of your nation;’

Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, ‘These are Yahweh’s people, and have left his land.’

And when they entered H935 (QalImpf) unto the heathen, H1471 whither they went, H935 (QalPerf) they profaned H2490 (PielImpf) my holy H6944 name, H8034 when they said H559 (QalInf) to them, These are the people H5971 of the Lord, H3068 and are gone forth H3318 (QalPerf) out of his land. H776

και εισηλθοσαν εις τα εθνη ου εισηλθοσαν εκει και εβεβηλωσαν το ονομα μου το αγιον εν τω λεγεσθαι αυτους λαος κυριου ουτοι και εκ της γης αυτου εξεληλυθασιν

“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I don’t do this for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went.

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited and the waste places will be built.

ταδε λεγει κυριος εν ημερα η καθαριω υμας εκ πασων των ανομιων υμων και κατοικιω τας πολεις και οικοδομηθησονται αι ερημοι

They will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden. The waste, desolate, and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’

και ερουσιν η γη εκεινη η ηφανισμενη εγενηθη ως κηπος τρυφης και αι πολεις αι ερημοι και ηφανισμεναι και κατεσκαμμεναι οχυραι εκαθισαν

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “For this, moreover, I will be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.

He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I answered, “Lord Yahweh, you know.”

Again he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, ‘You dry bones, hear Yahweh’s word.
