The border extended, and turned around on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lies before Beth Horon southward; and ended at Kiriath Baal (also called Kiriath Jearim), a city of the children of Judah. This was the west quarter.

The south quarter was from the farthest part of Kiriath Jearim. The border went out westward, and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.

And the south H5045 quarter H6285 [was] from the end H7097 of Kirjathjearim, H7157 and the border H1366 went out H3318 (QalPerf) on the west, H3220 and went out H3318 (QalPerf) to the well H4599 of waters H4325 of Nephtoah: H5318

και μερος το προς λιβα απο μερους καριαθβααλ και διελευσεται ορια εις γασιν επι πηγην υδατος ναφθω

Zelah, Eleph, the Jebusite (also called Jerusalem), Gibeath, and Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

And Zelah, H6762 Eleph, H507 and Jebusi, H2983 which [is] Jerusalem, H3389 Gibeath, H1394 [and] Kirjath; H7157 fourteen H702 H6240 cities H5892 with their villages. H2691 This [is] the inheritance H5159 of the children H1121 of Benjamin H1144 according to their families. H4940

They went up and encamped in Kiriath Jearim in Judah. Therefore they call that place Mahaneh Dan to this day. Behold, it is behind Kiriath Jearim.

και ανεβησαν και παρενεβαλοσαν εν καριαθιαριμ εν ιουδα δια τουτο εκληθη τω τοπω εκεινω παρεμβολη δαν εως της ημερας ταυτης ιδου κατοπισθεν καριαθιαριμ

They sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath Jearim, saying, “The Philistines have brought back Yahweh’s ark. Come down and bring it up to yourselves.”

And they sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 to the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Kirjathjearim, H7157 saying, H559 (QalInf) The Philistines H6430 have brought again H7725 (HiphPerf) the ark H727 of the Lord; H3068 come ye down, H3381 (QalImpv) [and] fetch it up H5927 (HiphImpv) to you.

The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took Yahweh’s ark, and brought it into Abinadab’s house on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to keep Yahweh’s ark.

And the men H582 of Kirjathjearim H7157 came, H935 (QalImpf) and fetched up H5927 (HiphImpf) the ark H727 of the Lord, H3068 and brought H935 (HiphImpf) it into the house H1004 of Abinadab H41 in the hill, H1389 and sanctified H6942 (PielPerf) Eleazar H499 his son H1121 to keep H8104 (QalInf) the ark H727 of the Lord. και ερχονται οι ανδρες καριαθιαριμ και αναγουσιν την κιβωτον διαθηκης κυριου και εισαγουσιν αυτην εις οικον αμιναδαβ τον εν τω βουνω και τον ελεαζαρ υιον αυτου ηγιασαν φυλασσειν την κιβωτον διαθηκης κυριου

From the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, the time was long—for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after Yahweh.

Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.

And Shobal H7732 the father H1 of Kirjathjearim H7157 had sons; H1121 Haroeh, H7204 [and] half H2677 of the Manahethites. H2679

και ησαν υιοι τω σωβαλ πατρι καριαθιαριμ αραα εσι αμμανιθ

The families of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from them came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.

And the families H4940 of Kirjathjearim; H7157 the Ithrites, H3505 and the Puhites, H6336 and the Shumathites, H8126 and the Mishraites; H4954 of them came H3318 (QalPerf) the Zareathites, H6882 and the Eshtaulites. H848

εμοσφεως πολις ιαιρ αιθαλιμ και μιφιθιμ και ησαμαθιμ και ημασαραιμ εκ τουτων εξηλθοσαν οι σαραθαιοι και οι εσθαωλαιοι

So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor River of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring God’s ark from Kiriath Jearim.

και εξεκκλησιασεν δαυιδ τον παντα ισραηλ απο οριων αιγυπτου και εως εισοδου ημαθ του εισενεγκαι την κιβωτον του θεου εκ πολεως ιαριμ

David went up with all Israel to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there God Yahweh’s ark that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.

And David H1732 went up, H5927 (QalImpf) and all Israel, H3478 to Baalah, H1173 [that is], to Kirjathjearim, H7157 which [belonged] to Judah, H3063 to bring up H5927 (HiphInf) thence the ark H727 of God H430 the Lord, H3068 that dwelleth H3427 (QalActPtc) [between] the cherubims, H3742 whose name H8034 is called H7121 (NiphPerf) [on it].

But David had brought God’s ark up from Kiriath Jearim to the place that David had prepared for it; for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
