Lamentations 4 (WEBP)
[1] How the gold has become dim! The most pure gold has changed! The stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the head of every street.
[2] The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how they are esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
[3] Even the jackals offer their breast. They nurse their young ones. But the daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
[4] The tongue of the nursing child clings to the roof of his mouth for thirst. The young children ask for bread, and no one breaks it for them.
[5] Those who ate delicacies are desolate in the streets. Those who were brought up in purple embrace dunghills.
[6] For the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom, which was overthrown as in a moment. No hands were laid on her.
[7] Her nobles were purer than snow. They were whiter than milk. They were more ruddy in body than rubies. Their polishing was like sapphire.
[8] Their appearance is blacker than a coal. They are not known in the streets. Their skin clings to their bones. It is withered. It has become like wood.
[9] Those who are killed with the sword are better than those who are killed with hunger; for these pine away, stricken through, for lack of the fruits of the field.
[10] The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children. They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
[11] Yahweh has accomplished his wrath. He has poured out his fierce anger. He has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured its foundations.
[12] The kings of the earth didn’t believe, neither did all the inhabitants of the world, that the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem.
[13] It is because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the middle of her.
[14] They wander as blind men in the streets. They are polluted with blood, So that men can’t touch their garments.
[15] “Go away!” they cried to them. “Unclean! Go away! Go away! Don’t touch! When they fled away and wandered, men said among the nations, “They can’t live here any more.”
[16] Yahweh’s anger has scattered them. He will not pay attention to them any more. They didn’t respect the persons of the priests. They didn’t favor the elders.
[17] Our eyes still fail, looking in vain for our help. In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save.
[18] They hunt our steps, so that we can’t go in our streets. Our end is near. Our days are fulfilled, for our end has come.
[19] Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the sky. They chased us on the mountains. They set an ambush for us in the wilderness.
[20] The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.
[21] Rejoice and be glad, daughter of Edom, who dwells in the land of Uz. The cup will pass through to you also. You will be drunken, and will make yourself naked.
[22] The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, daughter of Zion. He will no more carry you away into captivity. He will visit your iniquity, daughter of Edom. He will uncover your sins.

Lamentations 4 (KJVS)
[1] How is the gold H2091 become dim H6004 (8714)! [how] is the most H2896 fine gold H3800 changed H8132 (8799)! the stones H68 of the sanctuary H6944 are poured out H8210 (8691) in the top H7218 of every street H2351.
[2] The precious H3368 sons H1121 of Zion H6726, comparable H5537 (8794) to fine gold H6337, how are they esteemed H2803 (8738) as earthen H2789 pitchers H5035, the work H4639 of the hands H3027 of the potter H3335 (8802)!
[3] Even the sea monsters H8577 draw out H2502 (8804) the breast H7699, they give suck H3243 (8689) to their young ones H1482: the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 [is become] cruel H393, like the ostriches H3283 in the wilderness H4057.
[4] The tongue H3956 of the sucking child H3243 (8802) cleaveth H1692 (8804) to the roof of his mouth H2441 for thirst H6772: the young children H5768 ask H7592 (8804) bread H3899, [and] no man breaketh H6566 (8802) [it] unto them.
[5] They that did feed H398 (8802) delicately H4574 are desolate H8074 (8738) in the streets H2351: they that were brought up H539 (8803) in scarlet H8438 embrace H2263 (8765) dunghills H830.
[6] For the punishment of the iniquity H5771 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971 is greater H1431 (8799) than the punishment H2403 of the sin of Sodom H5467, that was overthrown H2015 (8803) as in a moment H7281, and no hands H3027 stayed H2342 (8804) on her.
[7] Her Nazarites H5139 were purer H2141 (8804) than snow H7950, they were whiter H6705 (8804) than milk H2461, they were more ruddy H119 (8804) in body H6106 than rubies H6443, their polishing H1508 [was] of sapphire H5601:
[8] Their visage H8389 is blacker H2821 (8804) than a coal H7815; they are not known H5234 (8738) in the streets H2351: their skin H5785 cleaveth H6821 (8804) to their bones H6106; it is withered H3001 (8804), it is become like a stick H6086.
[9] [They that be] slain H2491 with the sword H2719 are better H2896 than [they that be] slain H2491 with hunger H7458: for these H1992 pine away H2100 (8799), stricken H1856 (8794) through for [want of] the fruits H8570 of the field H7704.
[10] The hands H3027 of the pitiful H7362 women H802 have sodden H1310 (8765) their own children H3206: they were their meat H1262 (8763) in the destruction H7667 of the daughter H1323 of my people H5971.
[11] The LORD H3068 hath accomplished H3615 (8765) his fury H2534; he hath poured out H8210 (8804) his fierce H2740 anger H639, and hath kindled H3341 (8686) a fire H784 in Zion H6726, and it hath devoured H398 (8799) the foundations H3247 thereof.
[12] The kings H4428 of the earth H776, and all the inhabitants H3427 (8802) of the world H8398, would not have believed H539 (8689) that the adversary H6862 and the enemy H341 (8802) should have entered H935 (8799) into the gates H8179 of Jerusalem H3389.
[13] For the sins H2403 of her prophets H5030, [and] the iniquities H5771 of her priests H3548, that have shed H8210 (8802) the blood H1818 of the just H6662 in the midst H7130 of her,
[14] They have wandered H5128 (8804) [as] blind H5787 [men] in the streets H2351, they have polluted H1351 (8738) themselves with blood H1818, so that men could H3201 (8799) not H3808 touch H5060 (8799) their garments H3830.
[15] They cried H7121 (8804) unto them, Depart H5493 (8798) ye; [it is] unclean H2931; depart H5493 (8798), depart H5493 (8798), touch H5060 (8799) not: when they fled away H5132 (8804) and wandered H5128 (8804), they said H559 (8804) among the heathen H1471, They shall no more H3254 (8686) sojourn H1481 (8800) [there].
[16] The anger H6440 of the LORD H3068 hath divided H2505 (8765) them; he will no more H3254 (8686) regard H5027 (8687) them: they respected H5375 (8804) not the persons H6440 of the priests H3548, they favoured H2603 (8804) not the elders H2205.
[17] As for us, our eyes H5869 as yet failed H3615 (8799) for our vain H1892 help H5833: in our watching H6836 we have watched H6822 (8765) for a nation H1471 [that] could not save H3467 (8686) [us].
[18] They hunt H6679 (8804) our steps H6806, that we cannot go H3212 (8800) in our streets H7339: our end H7093 is near H7126 (8804), our days H3117 are fulfilled H4390 (8804); for our end H7093 is come H935 (8804).
[19] Our persecutors H7291 (8802) are swifter H7031 than the eagles H5404 of the heaven H8064: they pursued H1814 (8804) us upon the mountains H2022, they laid wait H693 (8804) for us in the wilderness H4057.
[20] The breath H7307 of our nostrils H639, the anointed H4899 of the LORD H3068, was taken H3920 (8738) in their pits H7825, of whom we said H559 (8804), Under his shadow H6738 we shall live H2421 (8799) among the heathen H1471.
[21] Rejoice H7797 (8798) and be glad H8055 (8798), O daughter H1323 of Edom H123, that dwellest H3427 (8802) in the land H776 of Uz H5780; the cup H3563 also shall pass H5674 (8799) through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken H7937 (8799), and shalt make thyself naked H6168 (8691).
[22] The punishment of thine iniquity H5771 is accomplished H8552 (8804), O daughter H1323 of Zion H6726; he will no more H3254 (8686) carry thee away into captivity H1540 (8687): he will visit H6485 (8804) thine iniquity H5771, O daughter H1323 of Edom H123; he will discover H1540 (8765) thy sins H2403.
Young’s Literal Translation
Lamentations 4 (YLT)
[1] How is the gold become dim, Changed the best-the pure gold? Poured out are stones of the sanctuary At the head of all out-places.
[2] The precious sons of Zion, Who are comparable with fine gold, How have they been reckoned earthen bottles, Work of the hands of a potter.
[3] Even dragons have drawn out the breast, They have suckled their young ones, The daughter of my people is become cruel, Like the ostriches in a wilderness.
[4] Cleaved hath the tongue of a suckling unto his palate with thirst, Infants asked bread, a dealer out they have none.
[5] Those eating of dainties have been desolate in out-places, Those supported on scarlet have embraced dunghills.
[6] And greater is the iniquity of the daughter of my people, Than the sin of Sodom, That was overturned as in a moment, And no hands were stayed on her.
[7] Purer were her Nazarites than snow, Whiter than milk, ruddier of body than rubies, Of sapphire their form.
[8] Darker than blackness hath been their visage, They have not been known in out-places, Cleaved hath their skin unto their bone, It hath withered-it hath been as wood.
[9] Better have been the pierced of a sword Than the pierced of famine, For these flow away, pierced through, Without the increase of the field.
[10] The hands of merciful women have boiled their own children, They have been for food to them, In the destruction of the daughter of my people.
[11] Completed hath Jehovah His fury, He hath poured out the fierceness of His anger, And he kindleth a fire in Zion, And it devoureth her foundations.
[12] Believe not did the kings of earth, And any of the inhabitants of the world, That come would an adversary and enemy Into the gates of Jerusalem.
[13] Because of the sins of her prophets, The iniquities of her priests, Who are shedding in her midst the blood of the righteous,
[14] They have wandered naked in out-places, They have been polluted with blood, Without any being able to touch their clothing,
[15] ‘Turn aside-unclean,’ they called to them, ‘Turn aside, turn aside, touch not,’ For they fled-yea, they have wandered, They have said among nations: ‘They do not add to sojourn.’
[16] The face of Jehovah hath divided them, He doth not add to behold them, The face of priests they have not lifted up, Elders they have not favoured.
[17] While we exist-consumed are our eyes for our vain help, In our watch-tower we have watched for a nation that saveth not.
[18] They have hunted our steps from going in our broad-places, Near hath been our end, fulfilled our days, For come hath our end.
[19] Swifter have been our pursuers, Than the eagles of the heavens, On the mountains they have burned after us, In the wilderness they have laid wait for us.
[20] The breath of our nostrils-the anointed of Jehovah, Hath been captured in their pits, of whom we said: ‘In his shadow we do live among nations.’
[21] Joy and rejoice, O daughter of Edom, Dwelling in the land of Uz, Even unto thee pass over doth a cup, Thou art drunk, and makest thyself naked.
[22] Completed is thy iniquity, daughter of Zion, He doth not add to remove thee, He hath inspected thy iniquity, O daughter of Edom, He hath removed thee because of thy sins!
