οτι ειπατε εποιησαμεν διαθηκην μετα του αδου και μετα του θανατου συνθηκας καταιγις φερομενη εαν παρελθη ου μη ελθη εφ ημας εθηκαμεν ψευδος την ελπιδα ημων και τω ψευδει σκεπασθησομεθα

Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol° shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

μη και αφελη υμων την διαθηκην του θανατου και η ελπις υμων η προς τον αδην ου μη εμμεινη καταιγις φερομενη εαν επελθη εσεσθε αυτη εις καταπατημα

I said, “In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol.° I am deprived of the residue of my years.”

For Sheol° can’t praise you. Death can’t celebrate you. Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.

Hosea 13:14 Heb. the hand

εκ χειρος αδου ρυσομαι αυτους και εκ θανατου λυτρωσομαι αυτους που η δικη σου θανατε που το κεντρον σου αδη παρακλησις κεκρυπται απο οφθαλμων μου

Though they dig into Sheol,° there my hand will take them; and though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down.

Yes, moreover, wine is treacherous: an arrogant man who doesn’t stay at home, who enlarges his desire as Sheol;° he is like death and can’t be satisfied, but gathers to himself all nations and heaps to himself all peoples.
