Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck, Yahweh says: “Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east.

Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath smitten: ‘Thus said Jehovah: Arise ye, go ye up unto Kedar, And spoil the sons of the east.

Yahweh’s word that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying:

I will bring on Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds. There will be no nation where the outcasts of Elam will not come.

And I have brought in to Elam four winds, From the four ends of the heavens, And have scattered them to all these winds, And there is no nation whither outcasts of Elam come not in.

The word that Yahweh spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.

The word that Jehovah hath spoken concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by the hand of Jeremiah the prophet:

All who found them have devoured them. Their adversaries said, ‘We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.’

All that found H4672 (QalActPtc) them have devoured H398 (QalPerf) them: and their adversaries H6862 said, H559 (QalPerf) We offend H816 (QalImpf) not, because they have sinned H2398 (QalPerf) against the Lord, H3068 the habitation H5116 of justice, H6664 even the Lord, H3068 the hope H4723 of their fathers. All finding them have devoured them, And their adversaries have said: We are not guilty, Because that they sinned against Jehovah, The habitation of righteousness, And the hope of their fathers-Jehovah.

In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh, “the iniquity of Israel will be sought for, and there will be none, also the sins of Judah, and they won’t be found; for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.

In those days, and at that time, An affirmation of Jehovah, Sought is the iniquity of Israel, and it is not, And the sin of Judah, and it is not found, For I am propitious to those whom I leave!

A sword is on their horses, on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the middle of her; and they will become as women. A sword is on her treasures, and they will be robbed.

A sword is on his horses and on his chariot, And on all the rabble who are in her midst, And they have become women; A sword is on her treasuries, And they have been spoiled;

Behold, the enemy will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it. Whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it, for who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who can stand before me?”

Lo, as a lion he cometh up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause them to run from off her. And who is chosen? on her I lay a charge, For who is like Me? And who doth convene Me? And who is this shepherd who standeth before Me?

Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon! Make the watch strong! Set the watchmen, and prepare the ambushes; for Yahweh has both purposed and done that which he spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.

Unto the walls of Babylon lift up an ensign, Strengthen the watch, Establish the watchers, prepare the ambush, For Jehovah hath both devised and done that which He spake, Concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.

The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah to Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. Now Seraiah was chief quartermaster.

The word that Jeremiah the prophet hath commanded Seraiah son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, in his going with Zedekiah king of Judah to Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign-and Seraiah is a quiet prince;

Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come on Babylon, even all these words that are written concerning Babylon.

So Jeremiah H3414 wrote H3789 (QalImpf) in a H259 book H5612 all the evil H7451 that should come H935 (QalImpf) upon Babylon, H894 [even] all these words H1697 that are written H3789 (QalPasPtc) against Babylon. H894

and Jeremiah writeth all the evil that cometh unto Babylon on one book-all these words that are written concerning Babylon.

Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden. Now the Chaldeans were against the city all around. The men of war went toward the Arabah,

Then the city H5892 was broken up, H1234 (NiphImpf) and all the men H582 of war H4421 fled, H1272 (QalImpf) and went forth H3318 (QalImpf) out of the city H5892 by night H3915 by the way H1870 of the gate H8179 between the two walls, H2346 which [was] by the king’s H4428 garden; H1588 (now the Chaldeans H3778 [were] by the city H5892 round about: H5439) and they went H3212 (QalImpf) by the way H1870 of the plain. then is the city broken up, and all the men of war flee, and go forth from the city by night, the way of the gate between the two walls, that is by the king’s garden-and the Chaldeans are by the city round about-and they go the way of the plain.

All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.

And all the army H2428 of the Chaldeans, H3778 that [were] with the captain H7227 of the guard, H2876 brake down H5422 (QalPerf) all the walls H2346 of Jerusalem H3389 round about. H5439

and all the walls of Jerusalem round about broken down have all the forces of the Chaldeans that are with the chief of the executioners.

Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the rest of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who defected to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

Then Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 of the guard H2876 carried away captive H1540 (HiphPerf) [certain] of the poor H1803 of the people, H5971 and the residue H3499 of the people H5971 that remained H7604 (NiphPtc) in the city, H5892 and those that fell away, H5307 (QalActPtc) that fell H5307 (QalPerf) to the king H4428 of Babylon, H894 and the rest H3499 of the multitude. And of the poor of the people, and the remnant of the people who are left in the city, and those who are falling away, who have fallen unto the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the multitude, hath Nebuzar-Adan chief of the executioners, removed;

The Chaldeans broke the pillars of bronze that were in Yahweh’s house and the bases and the bronze sea that were in Yahweh’s house in pieces, and carried all of their bronze to Babylon.

Also the pillars H5982 of brass H5178 that [were] in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the bases, H4350 and the brasen H5178 sea H3220 that [was] in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 the Chaldeans H3778 brake, H7665 (PielPerf) and carried H5375 (QalImpf) all the brass H5178 of them to Babylon. And the pillars of brass that are to the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brasen sea that is in the house of Jehovah, have the Chaldeans broken, and they bear away all the brass of them to Babylon;

They also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and all the vessels of bronze with which they ministered.

The caldrons H5518 also, and the shovels, H3257 and the snuffers, H4212 and the bowls, H4219 and the spoons, H3709 and all the vessels H3627 of brass H5178 wherewith they ministered, H8334 (PielImpf) took they away. H3947 (QalPerf)

and the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they minister, they have taken away;

The captain of the guard took away the cups, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lamp stands, the spoons, and the bowls; that which was of gold, as gold, and that which was of silver, as silver.

And the basons, H5592 and the firepans, H4289 and the bowls, H4219 and the caldrons, H5518 and the candlesticks, H4501 and the spoons, H3709 and the cups; H4518 [that] which [was] of gold H2091 [in] gold, H2091 and [that] which [was] of silver H3701 [in] silver, H3701 took H3947 the captain H7227 of the guard H2876 away. and the basins, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups, the gold of that which is gold, and the silver of that which is silver, hath the chief of the executioners taken.

They took the two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which King Solomon had made for Yahweh’s house. The bronze of all these vessels was without weight.

The two H8147 pillars, H5982 one H259 sea, H3220 and twelve H8147 H6240 brasen H5178 bulls H1241 that [were] under the bases, H4350 which king H4428 Solomon H8010 had made H6213 (QalPerf) in the house H1004 of the Lord: H3068 the brass H5178 of all these vessels H3627 was without weight. H4948

The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that are beneath the bases, that king Solomon made for the house of Jehovah, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels.

and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the middle of the city.

and out of the city he hath taken a certain eunuch, who hath been inspector over the men of war, and seven men of those seeing the king’s face, who have been found in the city, and the head scribe of the host, who mustereth the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land, who are found in the midst of the city;

This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar hath removed: in the seventh year, of Jews, three thousand and twenty and three;

He spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

And spake H1696 (PielImpf) kindly H2896 unto him, and set H5414 (QalImpf) his throne H3678 above H4605 the throne H3678 of the kings H4428 that [were] with him in Babylon, H894

and speaketh with him good things, and setteth his throne above the throne of the kings who are with him in Babylon,

The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things; for she has seen that the nations have entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.

His hand spread out hath an adversary On all her desirable things, For she hath seen- Nations have entered her sanctuary, Concerning which Thou didst command, ‘They do not come into the assembly to thee.’

“Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, with which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

[Is it] nothing to you, all ye that pass H5674 (QalActPtc) by? Is it nothing to you, all ye passing by the way? Look attentively, and see, If there is any pain like my pain, That He is rolling to me? Whom Jehovah hath afflicted In the day of the fierceness of His anger.

Yahweh has done that which he planned. He has fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old. He has thrown down, and has not pitied. He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you. He has exalted the horn of your adversaries.

Jehovah hath done that which He devised, He hath fulfilled His saying That He commanded from the days of old, He hath broken down and hath not pitied, And causeth an enemy to rejoice over thee, He lifted up the horn of thine adversaries.

“You have called, as in the day of a solemn assembly, my terrors on every side. There was no one that escaped or remained in the day of Yahweh’s anger. My enemy has consumed those whom I have cared for and brought up.

Thou hast called H7121 (QalImpf) as in a solemn H4150 day H3117 my terrors H4032 round about, H5439 so that in the day H3117 of the Lord’s H3068 anger H639 none escaped H6412 nor remained: H8300 those that I have swaddled H2946 (PielPerf) and brought up H7235 (PielPerf) hath mine enemy H341 (QalActPtc) consumed. Thou dost call as at a day of appointment, My fears from round about, And there hath not been in the day of the anger of Jehovah, An escaped and remaining one, They whom I stretched out and nourished, My enemy hath consumed!

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.

Each one went straight forward. Where the spirit was to go, they went. They didn’t turn when they went.

And each straight forward they go, whither the spirit is to go, they go, they turn not round in their going.

Wherever the spirit was to go, they went. The spirit was to go there. The wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Whither the spirit is to go, they go, thither the spirit is to go, and the wheels are lifted up over-against them, for a living spirit is in the wheels.

He said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me even to this very day.

And He saith unto Me, ‘Son of man, I am sending thee unto the sons of Israel, unto nations who are rebels, who have rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me, unto this self-same day.

But you, son of man, hear what I tell you. Don’t be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth, and eat that which I give you.”

But thou, son H1121 of man, H120 hear H8085 (QalImpv) what I say H1696 (PielPtc) unto thee; Be not H1961 (QalImpf) thou rebellious H4805 like that rebellious H4805 house: H1004 open H6475 (QalImpv) thy mouth, H6310 and eat H398 (QalImpv) that I give H5414 (QalActPtc) thee.

‘And thou, son of man, hear that which I am speaking unto thee: Thou art not rebellious like the rebellious house, open thy mouth, and eat that which I am giving unto thee.’

He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”

And He saith unto me, ‘Son of man, that which thou findest eat, eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.’

He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your belly and your bowels with it.” Then I ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

And He saith unto me, ‘Son of man, thy belly thou dost feed, and thy bowels thou dost fill with this roll that I am giving unto thee;’ and I eat it, and it is in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you can’t understand. Surely, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you.

not unto many peoples, deep of lip and heavy of tongue, whose words thou dost not understand. If I had not sent thee unto them-they, they do hearken unto thee,

Moreover he said to me, “Son of man, receive in your heart and hear with your ears all my words that I speak to you.

And He saith unto me, ‘Son of man, all My words, that I speak unto thee, receive with thy heart, and with thine ears hear;

“Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he will die. Because you have not given him warning, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.

‘And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, and he hath done perversity, and I have put a stumbling-block before him, he dieth; because thou hast not warned him, in his sin he dieth, and not remembered is his righteousness that he hath done, and his blood from thy hand I require.

Then I arose, and went out into the plain, and behold, Yahweh’s glory stood there, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar. Then I fell on my face.

Then I arose, H6965 (QalImpf) and went forth H3318 (QalImpf) into the plain: H1237 and, behold, the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 stood H5975 (QalActPtc) there, as the glory H3519 which I saw H7200 (QalPerf) by the river H5104 of Chebar: H3529 and I fell H5307 (QalImpf) on my face. H6440

And I rise and go forth unto the valley, and lo, there the honour of Jehovah is standing as the honour that I had seen by the river Chebar, and I fall on my face.

Your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels° a day. From time to time you shall eat it.

Ezekiel 4:10 A shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces.

And thy meat H3978 which thou shalt eat H398 (QalImpf) [shall be] by weight, H4946 twenty H6242 shekels H8255 a day: H3117 from time H6256 to time H6256 shalt thou eat H398 (QalImpf) it.

And thy food that thou dost eat is by weight, twenty shekels daily; from time to time thou dost eat it.

Yahweh said, “Even thus will the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations where I will drive them.”

And the Lord H3068 said, H559 (QalImpf) Even thus shall the children H1121 of Israel H3478 eat H398 (QalImpf) their defiled H2931 bread H3899 among the Gentiles, H1471 whither I will drive H5080 (HiphImpf) them.

And Jehovah saith, ‘Thus do the sons of Israel eat their defiled bread among the nations whither I drive them.’

She has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are around her; for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.’

And she hath changed H4784 (HiphImpf) my judgments H4941 into wickedness H7564 more than the nations, H1471 and my statutes H2708 more than the countries H776 that [are] round about H5439 her: for they have refused H3988 (QalPerf) my judgments H4941 and my statutes, H2708 they have not walked H1980 (QalPerf) in them.

And she changeth My judgments into wickedness more than the nations, And My statutes more than the lands that are round about her, For against My judgments they have kicked, And My statutes-they have not walked in them.

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you are more turbulent than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have followed the ordinances of the nations that are around you;

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Because ye multiplied H1995 (QalInf) more than the nations H1471 that [are] round about H5439 you, [and] have not walked H1980 (QalPerf) in my statutes, H2708 neither have kept H6213 (QalPerf) my judgments, H4941 neither have done H6213 (QalPerf) according to the judgments H4941 of the nations H1471 that [are] round about H5439 you;

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your multiplying above the nations that are around you, In My statutes ye have not walked, And My judgments ye have not done, According to the judgments of the nations That are round about you ye have not done.

I will do in you that which I have not done, and which I will not do anything like it any more, because of all your abominations.

And I will do H6213 (QalPerf) in thee that which I have not done, H6213 (QalPerf) and whereunto I will not do H6213 (QalImpf) any more the like, because H3282 of all thine abominations. H8441

And I have done in thee that which I have not done, And that which I do not its like again, Because of all thine abominations.

“ ‘Moreover I will make you a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all that pass by.

Moreover I will make H5414 (QalImpf) thee waste, H2723 and a reproach H2781 among the nations H1471 that [are] round about H5439 thee, in the sight H5869 of all that pass by. H5674 (QalActPtc)

And I give thee for a waste, And for a reproach among nations that are round about thee, Before the eyes of every passer by.

So it will be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, to the nations that are around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes—I, Yahweh, have spoken it—

So it shall be a reproach H2781 and a taunt, H1422 an instruction H4148 and an astonishment H4923 unto the nations H1471 that [are] round about H5439 thee, when I shall execute H6213 (QalInf) judgments H8201 in thee in anger H639 and in fury H2534 and in furious H2534 rebukes. H8433 I the Lord H3068 have spoken H1696 (PielPerf) [it].

And it hath been a reproach and a reviling, An instruction and an astonishment, To nations that are round about thee, In My doing in thee judgments, In anger and fury, and in furious reproofs, I, Jehovah, have spoken.

when I send on them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. I will increase the famine on you and will break your staff of bread.

When I shall send H7971 (PielImpf) upon them the evil H7451 arrows H2671 of famine, H7458 which shall be for [their] destruction, H4889 [and] which I will send H7971 (PielInf) to destroy H7843 (PielInf) you: and I will increase H3254 (HiphImpf) the famine H7458 upon you, and will break H7665 (QalPerf) your staff H4294 of bread: H3899

In My sending the evil arrows of famine among them, That have been for destruction, That I send to destroy you, And famine I am adding upon you, And I have broken to you the staff of bread.

Those of you that escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

And they that escape H6412 of you shall remember H2142 (QalPerf) me among the nations H1471 whither they shall be carried captives, H7617 (NiphPerf) because I am broken H7665 (NiphPerf) with their whorish H2181 (QalActPtc) heart, H3820 which hath departed H5493 (QalPerf) from me, and with their eyes, H5869 which go a whoring H2181 (QalActPtc) after H310 their idols: H1544 and they shall lothe H6962 (NiphPerf) themselves H6440 for the evils H7451 which they have committed H6213 (QalPerf) in all their abominations. H8441

And remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That hath turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done-all their abominations.

“The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, “Alas!”, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel; for they will fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Smite H5221 (HiphImpv) with thine hand, H3709 and stamp H7554 (QalImpv) with thy foot, H7272 and say, H559 (QalImpv) Alas H253 for all the evil H7451 abominations H8441 of the house H1004 of Israel! H3478 for they shall fall H5307 (QalImpf) by the sword, H2719 by the famine, H7458 and by the pestilence. H1698

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: ‘Smite with thy palm, and stamp with thy foot, And say: Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, Who by sword, by famine, and by pestilence do fall.

You will know that I am Yahweh when their slain men are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick oak—the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols.

Then shall ye know H3045 (QalPerf) that I [am] the Lord, H3068 when their slain H2491 [men] shall be among H8432 their idols H1544 round about H5439 their altars, H4196 upon every high H7311 (QalActPtc) hill, H1389 in all the tops H7218 of the mountains, H2022 and under every green H7488 tree, H6086 and under every thick H5687 oak, H424 the place H4725 where they did offer H5414 (QalPerf) sweet H5207 savour H7381 to all their idols. H1544

And ye have known that I am Jehovah, In their wounded being in the midst of their idols, Round about their altars, On every high hill, on all tops of mountains, And under every green tree, and under every thick oak, The place where they gave sweet fragrance to all their idols.

“ ‘The sword is outside, and the pestilence and the famine within. He who is in the field will die by the sword. He who is in the city will be devoured by famine and pestilence.

The sword H2719 [is] without, H2351 and the pestilence H1698 and the famine H7458 within: H1004 he that [is] in the field H7704 shall die H4191 (QalImpf) with the sword; H2719 and he that [is] in the city, H5892 famine H7458 and pestilence H1698 shall devour H398 (QalImpf) him.

The sword is without, And the pestilence and the famine within, He who is in a field by sword dieth, And he who is in a city, Famine and pestilence devour him.
