The king of Assyria sent Tartan, Rabsaris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great army to Jerusalem. They went up and came to Jerusalem. When they had come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.

Rabshakeh said to them, “Say now to Hezekiah, ‘The great king, the king of Assyria, says, “What confidence is this in which you trust?

και ειπεν προς αυτους ραψακης ειπατε δη προς εζεκιαν ταδε λεγει ο βασιλευς ο μεγας βασιλευς ασσυριων τις η πεποιθησις αυτη ην πεποιθας

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, Shebnah, and Joah, said to Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it. Don’t speak with us in the Jews’ language, in the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) Eliakim H471 the son H1121 of Hilkiah, H2518 and Shebna, H7644 and Joah, H3098 unto Rab-shakeh, H7262 Speak, H1696 (PielImpv) I pray thee, to thy servants H5650 in the Syrian language; H762 for we understand H8085 (QalActPtc) it: and talk H1696 (PielImpf) not with us in the Jews’ language H3066 in the ears H241 of the people H5971 that are on the wall. και ειπεν ελιακιμ υιος χελκιου και σομνας και ιωας προς ραψακην λαλησον δη προς τους παιδας σου συριστι οτι ακουομεν ημεις και ου λαλησεις μεθ ημων ιουδαιστι και ινα τι λαλεις εν τοις ωσιν του λαου του επι του τειχους

But Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to your master and to you, to speak these words? Hasn’t he sent me to the men who sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own urine with you?”

και ειπεν προς αυτον ελιακιμ και σομνας και ιωαχ λαλησον προς τους παιδας σου συριστι ακουομεν γαρ ημεις και μη λαλει προς ημας ιουδαιστι και ινα τι λαλεις εις τα ωτα των ανθρωπων των επι τω τειχει

But Rabshakeh said, “Has my master sent me only to your master and to you, to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?”

But Rabshakeh H7262 said, H559 (QalImpf) Hath my master H113 sent H7971 (QalPerf) me to thy master H113 and to thee to speak H1696 (PielInf) these words? και ειπεν ραψακης προς αυτους μη προς τον κυριον υμων η προς υμας απεσταλκεν με ο κυριος μου λαλησαι τους λογους τουτους ουχι προς τους ανθρωπους τους καθημενους επι τω τειχει ινα φαγωσιν κοπρον και πιωσιν ουρον μεθ υμων αμα

Then Rabshakeh stood, and called out with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and said, “Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!
