2 Esdras – search, read, and compare multiple versions of the Bible

Seven visions come to Ezra after the fall of Jerusalem, and in them he argues with an angel about why God lets the righteous suffer while the nations that destroyed them prosper. He does not get a comfortable answer. The core was written around AD 100 and comes down mainly in Latin, and Christian hands added the opening and closing chapters later.
