Exodus is the second of the Books of the Law, and it moves from the death of Joseph into the life of Moses. It covers the conditions of his birth, the deliverance of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt, the covenant given at Sinai, and the raising of the tabernacle. Moses is its traditional author.
