Philemon is Paul's shortest letter, written from prison to a friend about a runaway slave named Onesimus who had since become a believer. Paul sends him back and asks Philemon to receive him as a brother, offering to pay whatever he owes. The letter makes no argument about the institution and asks for something the institution had no category for.
