3 Maccabees – search, read, and compare multiple versions of the Bible

The Maccabees never appear, despite the name. Ptolemy IV is turned back from the temple in Jerusalem, takes his revenge on the Jews of Egypt, and has them herded into a hippodrome to be trampled by elephants, at which point the plan goes badly wrong for him. It was probably written in the first century BC.
