οπως αν μνησθητε και ποιησητε πασας τας εντολας μου και εσεσθε αγιοι τω θεω υμων

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Yahweh’s assembly?”

συνεστησαν επι μωυσην και ααρων και ειπαν εχετω υμιν οτι πασα η συναγωγη παντες αγιοι και εν αυτοις κυριος και δια τι κατανιστασθε επι την συναγωγην κυριου

He said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning, Yahweh will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.

και προσηγαγετο σε και παντας τους αδελφους σου υιους λευι μετα σου και ζητειτε ιερατευειν

Therefore you and all your company have gathered together against Yahweh! What is Aaron that you complain against him?”

ουτως συ και πασα η συναγωγη σου η συνηθροισμενη προς τον θεον και ααρων τις εστιν οτι διαγογγυζετε κατ αυτου

Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company go before Yahweh, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.

και ειπεν μωυσης προς κορε αγιασον την συναγωγην σου και γινεσθε ετοιμοι εναντι κυριου συ και αυτοι και ααρων αυριον

Korah assembled all the congregation opposite them to the door of the Tent of Meeting. Yahweh’s glory appeared to all the congregation.

They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

He spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!”

Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that Yahweh has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

If these men die the common death of all men, or if they experience what all men experience, then Yahweh hasn’t sent me.

If these men die H4191 (QalImpf) the common death H4194 of all men,^§ H120 or if they be visited H6485 (NiphImpf) after the visitation H6486 of all men; H120 then the Lord H3068 hath not sent H7971 (QalPerf) me.

Numbers 16:29 Heb. as every man dieth

ει κατα θανατον παντων ανθρωπων αποθανουνται ουτοι ει και κατ επισκεψιν παντων ανθρωπων επισκοπη εσται αυτων ουχι κυριος απεσταλκεν με

But if Yahweh makes a new thing, and the ground opens its mouth, and swallows them up with all that belong to them, and they go down alive into Sheol,° then you shall understand that these men have despised Yahweh.”

Numbers 16:30 Sheol is the place of the dead.

αλλ η εν φασματι δειξει κυριος και ανοιξασα η γη το στομα αυτης καταπιεται αυτους και τους οικους αυτων και τας σκηνας αυτων και παντα οσα εστιν αυτοις και καταβησονται ζωντες εις αδου και γνωσεσθε οτι παρωξυναν οι ανθρωποι ουτοι τον κυριον

As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split apart.

All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!”

But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed Yahweh’s people!”

“Speak to the children of Israel, and take rods from them, one for each fathers’ house, of all their princes according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each man’s name on his rod.

Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, a total of twelve rods. Aaron’s rod was among their rods.

Moses brought out all the rods from before Yahweh to all the children of Israel. They looked, and each man took his rod.

And Moses H4872 brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) all the rods H4294 from before H6440 the Lord H3068 unto all the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 and they looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and took H3947 (QalImpf) every man H376 his rod. H4294

^[17:24] και εξηνεγκεν μωυσης πασας τας ραβδους απο προσωπου κυριου προς παντας υιους ισραηλ και ειδον και ελαβον εκαστος την ραβδον αυτου

The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, “Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!

^[17:27] και ειπαν οι υιοι ισραηλ προς μωυσην λεγοντες ιδου εξανηλωμεθα απολωλαμεν παρανηλωμεθα

Everyone who keeps approaching Yahweh’s tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?”

Whosoever cometh any thing near H7131 unto the tabernacle H4908 of the Lord H3068 shall die: H4191 (QalImpf) shall we be consumed H8552 (QalPerf) with dying? H1478 (QalInf)

^[17:28] πας ο απτομενος της σκηνης κυριου αποθνησκει εως εις τελος αποθανωμεν

They shall keep your commands and the duty of the whole Tent; only they shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary and to the altar, that they not die, neither they nor you.

And they shall keep H8104 (QalPerf) thy charge, H4931 and the charge H4931 of all the tabernacle: H168 only they shall not come nigh H7126 (QalImpf) the vessels H3627 of the sanctuary H6944 and the altar, H4196 that neither they, nor ye also, die. H4191 (QalImpf)

και φυλαξονται τας φυλακας σου και τας φυλακας της σκηνης πλην προς τα σκευη τα αγια και προς το θυσιαστηριον ου προσελευσονται και ουκ αποθανουνται και ουτοι και υμεις

They shall be joined to you and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent. A stranger shall not come near to you.

And they shall be joined H3867 (NiphPerf) unto thee, and keep H8104 (QalPerf) the charge H4931 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 for all the service H5656 of the tabernacle: H168 and a stranger H2114 (QalPtc) shall not come nigh H7126 (QalImpf) unto you.

και προστεθησονται προς σε και φυλαξονται τας φυλακας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου κατα πασας τας λειτουργιας της σκηνης και ο αλλογενης ου προσελευσεται προς σε

You and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood for everything of the altar, and for that within the veil. You shall serve. I give you the service of the priesthood as a gift. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

Therefore thou and thy sons H1121 with thee shall keep H8104 (QalImpf) your priest’s office H3550 for every thing H1697 of the altar, H4196 and within H1004 the vail; H6532 and ye shall serve: H5647 (QalPerf) I have given H5414 (QalImpf) your priest’s office H3550 unto you as a service H5656 of gift: H4979 and the stranger H2114 (QalPtc) that cometh nigh H7131 shall be put to death. και συ και οι υιοι σου μετα σου διατηρησετε την ιερατειαν υμων κατα παντα τροπον του θυσιαστηριου και το ενδοθεν του καταπετασματος και λειτουργησετε τας λειτουργιας δομα της ιερατειας υμων και ο αλλογενης ο προσπορευομενος αποθανειται

Yahweh spoke to Aaron, “Behold, I myself have given you the command of my wave offerings, even all the holy things of the children of Israel. I have given them to you by reason of the anointing, and to your sons, as a portion forever.

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) unto Aaron, H175 Behold, I also have given H5414 (QalPerf) thee the charge H4931 of mine heave offerings H8641 of all the hallowed things H6944 of the children H1121 of Israel; H3478 unto thee have I given H5414 (QalPerf) them by reason of the anointing, H4888 and to thy sons, H1121 by an ordinance H2706 for ever. και ελαλησεν κυριος προς ααρων και εγω ιδου δεδωκα υμιν την διατηρησιν των απαρχων απο παντων των ηγιασμενων μοι παρα των υιων ισραηλ σοι δεδωκα αυτα εις γερας και τοις υιοις σου μετα σε νομιμον αιωνιον

This shall be yours of the most holy things from the fire: every offering of theirs, even every meal offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs, which they shall give to me, shall be most holy for you and for your sons.

και τουτο εστω υμιν απο των ηγιασμενων αγιων των καρπωματων απο παντων των δωρων αυτων και απο παντων των θυσιασματων αυτων και απο πασης πλημμελειας αυτων και απο πασων των αμαρτιων οσα αποδιδοασιν μοι απο παντων των αγιων σοι εσται και τοις υιοις σου

You shall eat of it like the most holy things. Every male shall eat of it. It shall be holy to you.

In the most H6944 holy H6944 place shalt thou eat H398 (QalImpf) it; every male H2145 shall eat H398 (QalImpf) it: it shall be holy H6944 unto thee.

εν τω αγιω των αγιων φαγεσθε αυτα παν αρσενικον φαγεται αυτα συ και οι υιοι σου αγια εσται σοι

“This is yours, too: the wave offering of their gift, even all the wave offerings of the children of Israel. I have given them to you, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, as a portion forever. Everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.

και τουτο εσται υμιν απαρχη δοματων αυτων απο παντων των επιθεματων των υιων ισραηλ σοι δεδωκα αυτα και τοις υιοις σου και ταις θυγατρασιν σου μετα σου νομιμον αιωνιον πας καθαρος εν τω οικω σου εδεται αυτα

“I have given to you all the best of the oil, all the best of the vintage, and of the grain, the first fruits of them which they give to Yahweh.

πασα απαρχη ελαιου και πασα απαρχη οινου και σιτου απαρχη αυτων οσα αν δωσι τω κυριω σοι δεδωκα αυτα

The first-ripe fruits of all that is in their land, which they bring to Yahweh, shall be yours. Everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.

“Everything devoted in Israel shall be yours.

Everything that opens the womb, of all flesh which they offer to Yahweh, both of man and animal, shall be yours. Nevertheless, you shall surely redeem the firstborn of man, and you shall redeem the firstborn of unclean animals.

All the wave offerings of the holy things which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, I have given you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever. It is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your offspring with you.”

“To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.

Thus you also shall offer a wave offering to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and of it you shall give Yahweh’s wave offering to Aaron the priest.

Out of all your gifts, you shall offer every wave offering to Yahweh, of all its best parts, even the holy part of it.’

ο απτομενος του τεθνηκοτος πασης ψυχης ανθρωπου ακαθαρτος εσται επτα ημερας

Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles Yahweh’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.

Whosoever toucheth H5060 (QalActPtc) the dead H4191 (QalPtc) body H5315 of any man H120 that is dead, H4191 (QalImpf) and purifieth H2398 (HithImpf) not himself, defileth H2930 (PielPerf) the tabernacle H4908 of the Lord; H3068 and that soul H5315 shall be cut off H3772 (NiphPerf) from Israel: H3478 because the water H4325 of separation H5079 was not sprinkled H2236 (PualPerf) upon him, he shall be unclean; H2931 his uncleanness H2932 is yet upon him.

A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave.

The children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month. The people stayed in Kadesh. Miriam died there, and was buried there.
