Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you, “You shall not go back that way again.”

κατα παντα οσα ητησω παρα κυριου του θεου σου εν χωρηβ τη ημερα της εκκλησιας λεγοντες ου προσθησομεν ακουσαι την φωνην κυριου του θεου ημων και το πυρ το μεγα τουτο ουκ οψομεθα ετι ουδε μη αποθανωμεν

Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.

και ειπεν κυριος προς με ορθως παντα οσα ελαλησαν

You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”

And if thou say H559 (QalImpf) in thine heart, H3824 How shall we know H3045 (QalImpf) the word H1697 which the Lord H3068 hath not spoken? H1696 (PielPerf)

εαν δε ειπης εν τη καρδια σου πως γνωσομεθα το ρημα ο ουκ ελαλησεν κυριος

Therefore I command you to set apart three cities for yourselves.

and shall tell them, “Hear, Israel, you draw near today to battle against your enemies. Don’t let your heart faint! Don’t be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;

The officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, “What man is there who is fearful and faint-hearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest his brother’s heart melt as his heart.”

accuses her of shameful things, gives her a bad name, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity;”

Behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

and, lo, he hath given H7760 (QalPerf) occasions H5949 of speech H1697 against her, saying, H559 (QalInf) I found H4672 (QalPerf) not thy daughter H1323 a maid; H1331 and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s H1323 virginity. αυτος νυν επιτιθησιν αυτη προφασιστικους λογους λεγων ουχ ευρηκα τη θυγατρι σου παρθενια και ταυτα τα παρθενια της θυγατρος μου και αναπτυξουσιν το ιματιον εναντιον της γερουσιας της πολεως

If the man doesn’t want to take his brother’s wife, then his brother’s wife shall go up to the gate to the elders, and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to raise up to his brother a name in Israel. He will not perform the duty of a husband’s brother to me.”

Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak to him. If he stands and says, “I don’t want to take her,”

then his brother’s wife shall come to him in the presence of the elders, and loose his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She shall answer and say, “So shall it be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”

Yahweh has declared today that you are a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you should keep all his commandments.

Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandment which I command you today.

‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

επικαταρατος ανθρωπος οστις ποιησει γλυπτον και χωνευτον βδελυγμα κυριω εργον χειρων τεχνιτου και θησει αυτο εν αποκρυφω και αποκριθεις πας ο λαος ερουσιν γενοιτο

‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

In the morning you will say, “I wish it were evening!” and at evening you will say, “I wish it were morning!” for the fear of your heart which you will fear, and for the sights which your eyes will see.

Yahweh will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I told to you that you would never see it again. There you will offer yourselves to your enemies for male and female slaves, and nobody will buy you.

και αποστρεψει σε κυριος εις αιγυπτον εν πλοιοις και εν τη οδω η ειπα ου προσθησεσθε ετι ιδειν αυτην και πραθησεσθε εκει τοις εχθροις υμων εις παιδας και παιδισκας και ουκ εσται ο κτωμενος

The generation to come—your children who will rise up after you, and the foreigner who will come from a far land—will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which Yahweh has made it sick,

Then men will say, “Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,

Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us, bring it to us, and proclaim it to us, that we may do it?”
