Don’t withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.

The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.

και επιστησω νεανισκους αρχοντας αυτων και εμπαικται κυριευσουσιν αυτων

The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.

οτι ουτως αξει βασιλευς ασσυριων την αιχμαλωσιαν αιγυπτου και αιθιοπων νεανισκους και πρεσβυτας γυμνους και ανυποδετους ανακεκαλυμμενους την αισχυνην αιγυπτου

Then I said, “Ah, Lord^§ Yahweh! Behold,^§ I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”

Jeremiah 1:6a The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.”
Jeremiah 1:6b “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

^[28:22] και διασκορπιω εν σοι νεανισκον και παρθενον και διασκορπιω εν σοι ανδρα και γυναικα

“The youth and the old man lie on the ground in the streets. My virgins and my young men have fallen by the sword. You have killed them in the day of your anger. You have slaughtered, and not pitied.

The young men carry millstones. The children stumbled under loads of wood.
