This is the word that Yahweh spoke concerning Moab in time past.

This [is] the word H1697 that the Lord H3068 hath spoken H1696 (PielPerf) concerning Moab H4124 since that time. H227

This is the word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moab from that time,

They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherah poles or the incense altars.

And he shall not look H8159 (QalImpf) to the altars, H4196 the work H4639 of his hands, H3027 neither shall respect H7200 (QalImpf) [that] which his fingers H676 have made, H6213 (QalPerf) either the groves, H842 or the images. H2553

And he looketh not unto the altars. The work of his own hands, And that which his own fingers made He seeth not-the shrines and the images.

In that day, their strong cities will be like the forsaken places in the woods and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it will be a desolation.

In that day H3117 shall his strong H4581 cities H5892 be as a forsaken H5800 (QalPasPtc) bough, H2793 and an uppermost branch, H534 which they left H5800 (QalPerf) because H6440 of the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 and there shall be desolation. H8077

In that day are the cities of his strength As the forsaken thing of the forest, And the branch that they have left, Because of the sons of Israel, It also hath been a desolation.

Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;

Woe H1945 to the land H776 shadowing H6767 with wings, H3671 which [is] beyond H5676 the rivers H5104 of Ethiopia: H3568

Ho, land shadowed with wings, That is beyond the rivers of Cush,

that sends ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of papyrus on the waters, saying, “Go, you swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people awesome from their beginning onward, a nation that measures out and treads down, whose land the rivers divide!”

That sendeth H7971 (QalActPtc) ambassadors H6735 by the sea, H3220 even in vessels H3627 of bulrushes H1573 upon H6440 the waters, H4325 [saying], Go, H3212 (QalImpv) ye swift H7031 messengers, H4397 to a nation H1471 scattered H4900 (PualPtc) and peeled, H4178 (PualPtc) to a people H5971 terrible H3372 (NiphPtc) from their beginning hitherto; H1973 a nation H1471 meted out H6978 and trodden down, H4001 whose land H776 the rivers H5104 have spoiled! H958 (QalPerf)

That is sending by sea ambassadors, Even with implements of reed on the face of the waters, -Go, ye light messengers, Unto a nation drawn out and peeled, Unto a people fearful from its beginning and onwards, A nation meeting out by line, and treading down, Whose land floods have spoiled.

In that time, a present will be brought to Yahweh of Armies from a people tall and smooth, even from a people awesome from their beginning onward, a nation that measures out and treads down, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of Yahweh of Armies, Mount Zion.

In that time H6256 shall the present H7862 be brought H2986 (HophImpf) unto the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 of a people H5971 scattered H4900 (PualPtc) and peeled, H4178 (PualPtc) and from a people H5971 terrible H3372 (NiphPtc) from their beginning hitherto; H1973 a nation H1471 meted out H6978 and trodden under foot, H4001 whose land H776 the rivers H5104 have spoiled, H958 (QalPerf) to the place H4725 of the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the mount H2022 Zion. H6726

At that time brought is a present to Jehovah of Hosts, A nation drawn out and peeled. Even of a people fearful from the beginning hitherto, A nation meting out by line, and treading down, Whose land floods have spoiled, Unto the place of the name of Jehovah of Hosts-mount Zion!’

Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.

Neither shall there be [any] work H4639 for Egypt, H4714 which the head H7218 or tail, H2180 branch H3712 or rush, H100 may do. H6213 (QalImpf)

And there is no work to Egypt, That head or tail, branch or reed, may do.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of Yahweh of Armies’s hand, which he shakes over them.

In that day H3117 shall Egypt H4714 be like unto women: H802 and it shall be afraid H2729 (QalPerf) and fear H6342 (QalPerf) because H6440 of the shaking H8573 of the hand H3027 of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 which he shaketh H5130 (HiphPtc) over it.

In that day is Egypt like women, And it hath mourned, and been afraid, Because of the waving of the hand of Jehovah of Hosts, That He is waving over it.

The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of Yahweh of Armies, which he determines against it.

And the land H127 of Judah H3063 shall be a terror H2283 unto Egypt, H4714 every one that maketh mention H2142 (HiphImpf) thereof shall be afraid H6342 (QalImpf) in himself, because H6440 of the counsel H6098 of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 which he hath determined H3289 (QalActPtc) against it.

And the land of Judah hath been to Egypt for a cause of staggering, Every one who doth mention it, for himself feareth, Because of the counsel of Jehovah of Hosts, That He is counselling against it.

because Yahweh of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”

Whom the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 shall bless, H1288 (PielPerf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) [be] Egypt H4714 my people, H5971 and Assyria H804 the work H4639 of my hands, H3027 and Israel H3478 mine inheritance. H5159

In that Jehovah of Hosts did bless it, saying, ‘Blessed is My people-Egypt, And the work of My hands-Asshur, And Mine inheritance-Israel!’

The inhabitants of this coast land will say in that day, ‘Behold, this is our expectation, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria. And we, how will we escape?’ ”

And the inhabitant H3427 (QalActPtc) of this isle H339 shall say H559 (QalPerf) in that day, H3117 Behold, such H3541 [is] our expectation, H4007 whither we flee H5127 (QalPerf) for help H5833 to be delivered H5337 (NiphInf) from H6440 the king H4428 of Assyria: H804 and how shall we escape? H4422 (NiphImpf)

and the inhabitant of this isle hath said in that day- Lo, thus is our trust, Whither we have fled for help, To be delivered from the king of Asshur, And how do we escape-we?’

For the Lord said to me, “Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.

For thus hath the Lord H136 said H559 (QalPerf) unto me, Go, H3212 (QalImpv) set H5975 (HiphImpv) a watchman, H6822 (PielPtc) let him declare H5046 (HiphImpf) what he seeth. H7200 (QalImpf)

For thus said the Lord unto me: ‘Go, station the watchman, That which he seeth let him declare.’

You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!” That which I have heard from Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.

O my threshing, H4098 and the corn H1121 of my floor: H1637 that which I have heard H8085 (QalPerf) of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel, H3478 have I declared H5046 (HiphPerf) unto you.

O my threshing, and the son of my floor, That which I heard from Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, I have declared to you!’

The Lord, Yahweh of Armies says, “Go, get yourself to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say,

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God H3069 of hosts, H6635 Go, H3212 (QalImpv) get H935 (QalImpv) thee unto this treasurer, H5532 (QalActPtc) [even] unto Shebna, H7644 which [is] over the house, H1004 [and say],

Thus said the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts: ‘Go, enter in unto this steward, Unto Shebna, who is over the house:

Who has planned this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the honorable of the earth?

Who hath taken this counsel H3289 (QalPerf) against Tyre, H6865 the crowning H5849 (HiphPtc) [city], whose merchants H5503 (QalActPtc) [are] princes, H8269 whose traffickers H3667 [are] the honourable H3513 (NiphPtc) of the earth? H776

Who hath counselled this against Tyre, The crowning one, whose traders are princes, Her merchants the honoured of earth?’

It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest.

And it shall be, as with the people, H5971 so with the priest; H3548 as with the servant, H5650 so with his master; H113 as with the maid, H8198 so with her mistress; H1404 as with the buyer, H7069 (QalActPtc) so with the seller; H4376 (QalActPtc) as with the lender, H3867 (HiphPtc) so with the borrower; H3867 (QalPtc) as with the taker of usury, H5383 (QalActPtc) so H834 with the giver of usury H5378 (QalPtc) to him.

And it hath been-as a people so a priest, As the servant so his master, As the maid-servant so her mistress, As the buyer so the seller, As the lender so the borrower, As the usurer so he who is lifting it on himself.

In that day, Yahweh with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan, the fleeing serpent, and leviathan, the twisted serpent; and he will kill the dragon that is in the sea.

In that day H3117 the Lord H3068 with his sore H7186 and great H1419 and strong H2389 sword H2719 shall punish H6485 (QalImpf) leviathan H3882 the piercing H1281 serpent, H5175 even leviathan H3882 that crooked H6129 serpent; H5175 and he shall slay H2026 (QalPerf) the dragon H8577 that [is] in the sea. H3220

In that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword-the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan-a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan-a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that is in the sea.

Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!

Woe H1945 to the crown H5850 of pride, H1348 to the drunkards H7910 of Ephraim, H669 whose glorious H6643 beauty H8597 [is] a fading H5034 (QalActPtc) flower, H6731 which [are] on the head H7218 of the fat H8081 valleys H1516 of them that are overcome H1986 (QalPasPtc) with wine! H3196

Woe to the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim. And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory, That is on the head of the fat valley of the broken down of wine.

The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer, which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.

And the glorious H6643 beauty, H8597 which [is] on the head H7218 of the fat H8081 valley, H1516 shall be a fading H5034 (QalActPtc) flower, H6733 [and] as the hasty fruit H1061 before the summer; H7019 which [when] he that looketh H7200 (QalActPtc) upon it seeth, H7200 (QalImpf) while it is yet in his hand H3709 he eateth it up. H1104 (QalImpf)

And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory That is on the head of the fat valley, Hath been as its first-fruit before summer, That its beholder seeth, While it is yet in his hand he swalloweth it.

to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to the weary,” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not hear.

To whom he said, H559 (QalPerf) This [is] the rest H4496 [wherewith] ye may cause the weary H5889 to rest; H5117 (HiphImpv) and this [is] the refreshing: H4774 yet they would H14 (QalPerf) not hear. H8085 (QalInf)

Unto whom He hath said, ‘This is the rest, give ye rest to the weary, And this-the refreshing:’ And they have not been willing to hear,

Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:

Wherefore hear H8085 (QalImpv) the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 ye scornful H3944 men, H582 that rule H4910 (QalActPtc) this people H5971 which [is] in Jerusalem. H3389

Therefore, hear a word of Jehovah, ye men of scorning, Ruling this people that is in Jerusalem.

It will be like when a hungry man dreams, and behold, he eats; but he awakes, and his hunger isn’t satisfied; or like when a thirsty man dreams, and behold, he drinks; but he awakes, and behold, he is faint, and he is still thirsty. The multitude of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion will be like that.

It shall even be as when an hungry H7457 [man] dreameth, H2492 (QalImpf) and, behold, he eateth; H398 (QalActPtc) but he awaketh, H6974 (HiphPerf) and his soul H5315 is empty: H7386 or as when H834 a thirsty man H6771 dreameth, H2492 (QalImpf) and, behold, he drinketh; H8354 (QalActPtc) but he awaketh, H6974 (HiphPerf) and, behold, [he is] faint, H5889 and his soul H5315 hath appetite: H8264 (QalActPtc) so shall the multitude H1995 of all the nations H1471 be, that fight H6633 (QalActPtc) against mount H2022 Zion. H6726

And it hath been, as when the hungry dreameth, And lo, he is eating, And he hath waked, and empty is his soul, And as when the thirsty dreameth, And lo, he is drinking, and he hath waked, And lo, he is weary, and his soul is longing, So is the multitude of all the nations Who are warring against mount Zion.

All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t, for it is sealed;”

And the vision H2380 of all is become unto you as the words H1697 of a book H5612 that is sealed, H2856 (QalPasPtc) which [men] deliver H5414 (QalImpf) to one that is learned, H3045 (QalActPtc) saying, H559 (QalInf) Read H7121 (QalImpv) this, I pray thee: and he saith, H559 (QalPerf) I cannot; H3201 (QalImpf) for it [is] sealed: H2856 (QalPasPtc)

And the vision of the whole is to you, As words of the sealed book, That they give unto one knowing books, Saying, ‘Read this, we pray thee,’ And he hath said, ‘I am not able, for it is sealed;’

and the book is delivered to one who is not educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t read.”

And the book H5612 is delivered H5414 (NiphPerf) to him that is not learned, H3045 (QalPerf) H5612 saying, H559 (QalInf) Read H7121 (QalImpv) this, I pray thee: and he saith, H559 (QalPerf) I am not learned. H3045 (QalPerf)

And the book is given to him who hath not known books, Saying, ‘Read this, we pray thee,’ And he hath said, ‘I have not known books.’

Therefore Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob shall no longer be ashamed, neither shall his face grow pale.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 who redeemed H6299 (QalPerf) Abraham, H85 concerning the house H1004 of Jacob, H3290 Jacob H3290 shall not now be ashamed, H954 (QalImpf) neither shall his face H6440 now wax pale. H2357 (QalImpf)

Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Who ransomed Abraham, Concerning the house of Jacob: ‘Not now ashamed is Jacob, Nor now doth his face become pale,

who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.

Which say H559 (QalPerf) to the seers, H7200 (QalActPtc) See H7200 (QalImpf) not; and to the prophets, H2374 Prophesy H2372 (QalImpf) not unto us right things, H5229 speak H1696 (PielImpv) unto us smooth things, H2513 prophesy H2372 (QalImpv) deceits: H4123

Who have said to seers, ‘Ye do not see,’ And to prophets, ‘Ye do not prophesy to us Straightforward things, Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits,

therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.

Therefore this iniquity H5771 shall be to you as a breach H6556 ready to fall, H5307 (QalActPtc) swelling out H1158 (NiphPtc) in a high H7682 (NiphPtc) wall, H2346 whose breaking H7667 cometh H935 (QalImpf) suddenly H6597 at an instant. H6621

Therefore is this iniquity to you as a breach falling, Swelled out in a wall set on high, Whose destruction suddenly, at an instant cometh.

He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.

Then shall he give H5414 (QalPerf) the rain H4306 of thy seed, H2233 that thou shalt sow H2232 (QalImpf) the ground H127 withal; and bread H3899 of the increase H8393 of the earth, H127 and it shall be fat H1879 and plenteous: H8082 in that day H3117 shall thy cattle H4735 feed H7462 (QalImpf) in large H7337 (NiphPtc) pastures. And He hath given rain for thy seed, With which thou dost sow the ground, And bread, the increase of the ground, And it hath been fat and plenteous, Enjoy do thy cattle in that day an enlarged pasture.

The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.

The oxen H504 likewise and the young asses H5895 that ear H5647 (QalActPtc) the ground H127 shall eat H398 (QalImpf) clean H2548 provender, H1098 which hath been winnowed H2219 (QalActPtc) with the shovel H7371 and with the fan. H4214

And the oxen and the young asses serving the ground, Fermented provender do eat, That one is winnowing with shovel and fan.

Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which Yahweh will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.

And [in] every place H3605 where the grounded H4145 staff H4294 shall pass, H4569 which the Lord H3068 shall lay H5117 (HiphImpf) upon him, [it] shall be with tabrets H8596 and harps: H3658 and in battles H4421 of shaking H8573 will he fight H3898 (NiphPerf) with it.

And every passage of the settled staff, That Jehovah causeth to rest on him, Hath been with tabrets, and with harps, And in battles of shaking he hath fought with it.

For Yahweh says to me, “As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for their noise, so Yahweh of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.

For thus hath the Lord H3068 spoken H559 (QalPerf) unto me, Like as the lion H738 and the young lion H3715 roaring H1897 (QalImpf) on his prey, H2964 when a multitude H4393 of shepherds H7462 (QalActPtc) is called forth H7121 (NiphImpf) against him, [he] will not be afraid H2865 (NiphImpf) of their voice, H6963 nor abase H6031 (QalImpf) himself for the noise H1995 of them: so shall the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 come down H3381 (QalImpf) to fight H6633 (QalInf) for mount H2022 Zion, H6726 and for the hill H1389 thereof.

For thus said Jehovah unto me: ‘As growl doth the lion and the young lion over his prey, Called against whom is a multitude of shepherds, From their voice he is not affrighted, And from their noise he is not humbled; So come down doth Jehovah of Hosts To war on mount Zion, and on her height.

Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.

Turn H7725 (QalImpv) ye unto [him from] whom the children H1121 of Israel H3478 have deeply H6009 (HiphPerf) revolted. H5627

Turn back to Him from whom sons of Israel Have deepened apostasy.

For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.

For in that day H3117 every man H376 shall cast away H3988 (QalImpf) his idols H457 of silver, H3701 and his idols H457 of gold, H2091 which your own hands H3027 have made H6213 (QalPerf) unto you [for] a sin. H2399

For in that day despise doth each His idols of silver, and his idols of gold, That your hands made to you-a sin.

His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” says Yahweh, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

And he shall pass over H5674 (QalImpf) to his strong hold H5553 for fear, H4032 and his princes H8269 shall be afraid H2865 (QalPerf) of the ensign, H5251 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 whose fire H217 [is] in Zion, H6726 and his furnace H8574 in Jerusalem. H3389

And to his rock from fear he passeth on, And affrighted by the ensign have been his princes-an affirmation of Jehovah, Who hath a light in Zion, And who hath a furnace in Jerusalem!

Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.”

Hear, ye far off, that which I have done, And know, ye near ones, My might.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph the recorder came out to him.

and go forth unto him doth Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who is over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph, the remembrancer.

Behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt, which if a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

Lo, thou trustest H982 (QalPerf) in the staff H4938 of this broken H7533 (QalPasPtc) reed, H7070 on Egypt; H4714 whereon if a man H376 lean, H5564 (NiphImpf) it will go H935 (QalPerf) into his hand, H3709 and pierce H5344 (QalPerf) it: so [is] Pharaoh H6547 king H4428 of Egypt H4714 to all that trust H982 (QalActPtc) in him.

‘Lo, thou hast trusted on the staff of this broken reed-on Egypt-which a man leaneth on, and it hath gone into his hand, and pierced it-so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all those trusting on him.

But if you tell me, ‘We trust in Yahweh our God,’ isn’t that he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar’?”

But if thou say H559 (QalImpf) to me, We trust H982 (QalPerf) in the Lord H3068 our God: H430 [is it] not he, whose high places H1116 and whose altars H4196 Hezekiah H2396 hath taken away, H5493 (HiphPerf) and said H559 (QalImpf) to Judah H3063 and to Jerusalem, H3389 Ye shall worship H7812 (HithImpf) before H6440 this altar? H4196

‘And dost thou say unto me, Unto Jehovah our God we have trusted? is it not He, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath turned aside, and saith to Judah and to Jerusalem, Before this altar ye do bow yourselves?

Then Eliakim, Shebna and Joah said to Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand it. Don’t speak to us in the Jews’ language in the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) Eliakim H471 and Shebna H7644 and Joah H3098 unto Rabshakeh, H7262 Speak, H1696 (PielImpv) I pray thee, unto thy servants H5650 in the Syrian language; H762 for we understand H8085 (QalActPtc) [it]: and speak H1696 (PielImpf) not to us in the Jews’ language, H3066 in the ears H241 of the people H5971 that [are] on the wall. And Eliakim saith-and Shebna and Joah-unto Rabshakeh, ‘Speak, we pray thee, unto thy servants in Aramaean, for we are understanding; and do not speak unto us in Jewish, in the ears of the people who are on the wall.’

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

And Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who is over the house, cometh in, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph, the remembrancer, unto Hezekiah with rent garments, and they declare to him the words of Rabshakeh.

He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.

and sendeth Eliakim, who is over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covering themselves with sackcloth, unto Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet,

It may be Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ”

‘It may be Jehovah thy God doth hear the words of Rabshakeh with which the king of Asshur his lord hath sent him to reproach the living God, and hath decided concerning the words that Jehovah thy God hath heard, and thou hast lifted up prayer for the remnant that is found.’

Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘Yahweh says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

‘Thus do ye speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God lift thee up in whom thou art trusting, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?

Behold, thou hast heard H8085 (QalPerf) what the kings H4428 of Assyria H804 have done H6213 (QalPerf) to all lands H776 by destroying them utterly; H2763 (HiphInf) and shalt thou be delivered? H5337 (NiphImpf)

Lo, thou hast heard that which the kings of Asshur have done to all the lands-to devote them-and thou art delivered!

Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?

Have the gods H430 of the nations H1471 delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) them which my fathers H1 have destroyed, H7843 (HiphPerf) [as] Gozan, H1470 and Haran, H2771 and Rezeph, H7530 and the children H1121 of Eden H5729 which [were] in Telassar? H8515

Did the gods of the nations deliver them whom my fathers destroyed-Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who are in Telassar?

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Yahweh, the God of Israel says, ‘Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,

And Isaiah son of Amoz sendeth unto Hezekiah, saying, ‘Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed unto me concerning Sennacherib king of Asshur-

Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.

Because of thy anger towards Me, And thy noise-it came up into Mine ears, I have put My hook in thy nose, And My bridle in thy lips, And I have caused thee to turn back In the way in which thou camest.

and said, “Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.

and saith, ‘I pray thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which is good in thine eyes I have done;’ and Hezekiah weepeth-a great weeping.

Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps.” ’ ” So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down.

Behold, I will bring again H7725 (HiphPtc) the shadow H6738 of the degrees, H4609 which is gone down H3381 (QalPerf) in the sun H8121 dial H4609 of Ahaz, H271 ten H6235 degrees H4609 backward. H322 So the sun H8121 returned H7725 (QalImpf) ten H6235 degrees, H4609 by which degrees H4609 it was gone down. H3381 (QalPerf)

Lo, I am bringing back the shadow of the degrees that it hath gone down on the degrees of Ahaz, by the sun, backward ten degrees:’ and the sun turneth back ten degrees in the degrees that it had gone down.
