Isaiah 31 (WEBP)

[1] Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don’t seek Yahweh!
[2] Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.
[3] Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Yahweh stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.
[4] For Yahweh says to me, “As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for their noise, so Yahweh of Armies will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.
[5] As birds hovering, so Yahweh of Armies will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it.”
[6] Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.
[7] For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.
[8] “The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of mankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.
[9] His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his princes will be afraid of the banner,” says Yahweh, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 31 (KJVS)

[1] Woe H1945 to them that go down H3381 (8802) to Egypt H4714 for help H5833; and stay H8172 (8735) on horses H5483, and trust H982 (8799) in chariots H7393, because [they are] many H7227; and in horsemen H6571, because they are very H3966 strong H6105 (8804); but they look H8159 (8804) not unto the Holy One H6918 of Israel H3478, neither seek H1875 (8804) the LORD H3068!
[2] Yet he also [is] wise H2450, and will bring H935 (8686) evil H7451, and will not call back H5493 (8689) his words H1697: but will arise H6965 (8804) against the house H1004 of the evildoers H7489 (8688), and against the help H5833 of them that work H6466 (8802) iniquity H205.
[3] Now the Egyptians H4714 [are] men H120, and not God H410; and their horses H5483 flesh H1320, and not spirit H7307. When the LORD H3068 shall stretch out H5186 (8686) his hand H3027, both he that helpeth H5826 (8802) shall fall H3782 (8804), and he that is holpen H5826 (8803) shall fall down H5307 (8804), and they all shall fail H3615 (8799) together H3162.
[4] For thus hath the LORD H3068 spoken H559 (8804) unto me, Like as the lion H738 and the young lion H3715 roaring H1897 (8799) on his prey H2964, when a multitude H4393 of shepherds H7462 (8802) is called forth H7121 (8735) against him, [he] will not be afraid H2865 (8735) of their voice H6963, nor abase H6031 (8799) himself for the noise H1995 of them: so shall the LORD H3068 of hosts H6635 come down H3381 (8799) to fight H6633 (8800) for mount H2022 Zion H6726, and for the hill H1389 thereof.
[5] As birds H6833 flying H5774 (8802), so will the LORD H3068 of hosts H6635 defend H1598 (8686) Jerusalem H3389; defending H1598 (8800) also he will deliver H5337 (8689) [it; and] passing over H6452 (8800) he will preserve H4422 (8689) it.
[6] Turn H7725 (8798) ye unto [him from] whom the children H1121 of Israel H3478 have deeply H6009 (8689) revolted H5627.
[7] For in that day H3117 every man H376 shall cast away H3988 (8799) his idols H457 of silver H3701, and his idols H457 of gold H2091, which your own hands H3027 have made H6213 (8804) unto you [for] a sin H2399.
[8] Then shall the Assyrian H804 fall H5307 (8804) with the sword H2719, not of a mighty man H376; and the sword H2719, not of a mean man H120, shall devour H398 (8799) him: but he shall flee H5127 (8804) from H6440 the sword H2719, and his young men H970 shall be discomfited H4522.
[9] And he shall pass over H5674 (8799) to his strong hold H5553 for fear H4032, and his princes H8269 shall be afraid H2865 (8804) of the ensign H5251, saith H5002 (8803) the LORD H3068, whose fire H217 [is] in Zion H6726, and his furnace H8574 in Jerusalem H3389.

Young’s Literal Translation

Isaiah 31 (YLT)

[1] Woe to those going down to Egypt for help, And on horses lean, And trust on chariots, because many, And on horsemen, because very strong, And have not looked on the Holy One of Israel, And Jehovah have not sought.
[2] And He also is wise, and bringeth in evil, And His words He hath not turned aside, And He hath risen against a house of evil doers, And against the help of workers of iniquity.
[3] And the Egyptians are men, and not God, And their horses are flesh, and not spirit, And Jehovah stretcheth out His hand, And stumbled hath the helper, And fallen hath the helped one, And together all of them are consumed.
[4] For thus said Jehovah unto me: ‘As growl doth the lion and the young lion over his prey, Called against whom is a multitude of shepherds, From their voice he is not affrighted, And from their noise he is not humbled; So come down doth Jehovah of Hosts To war on mount Zion, and on her height.
[5] As birds flying, so doth Jehovah of Hosts Cover over Jerusalem, covering and delivering, Passing over, and causing to escape.’
[6] Turn back to Him from whom sons of Israel Have deepened apostasy.
[7] For in that day despise doth each His idols of silver, and his idols of gold, That your hands made to you-a sin.
[8] And fallen hath Asshur by sword, not of the high, Yea, a sword-not of the low, doth consume him, And he hath fled for himself from the face of a sword, And his young men become tributary.
[9] And to his rock from fear he passeth on, And affrighted by the ensign have been his princes-an affirmation of Jehovah, Who hath a light in Zion, And who hath a furnace in Jerusalem!
