Isaiah 60 (WEBP)

[1] “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you!
[2] For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.
[3] Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
[4] “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together. They come to you. Your sons will come from far away, and your daughters will be carried in arms.
[5] Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you. The wealth of the nations will come to you.
[6] A multitude of camels will cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah. All from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense, and will proclaim the praises of Yahweh.
[7] All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth will serve you. They will be accepted as offerings on my altar; and I will beautify my glorious house.
[8] “Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
[9] Surely the islands will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far away, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
[10] “Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.
[11] Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.
[12] For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
[13] “The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
[14] The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you Yahweh’s City, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
[15] “Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
[16] You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse from royal breasts. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
[17] For bronze I will bring gold; for iron I will bring silver; for wood, bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make peace your governor, and righteousness your ruler.
[18] Violence shall no more be heard in your land, nor desolation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.
[19] The sun will be no more your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
[20] Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.
[21] Then your people will all be righteous. They will inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
[22] The little one will become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation. I, Yahweh, will do this quickly in its time.”

[2] For, behold, the darkness H2822 shall cover H3680 (8762) the earth H776, and gross darkness H6205 the people H3816: but the LORD H3068 shall arise H2224 (8799) upon thee, and his glory H3519 shall be seen H7200 (8735) upon thee.
[3] And the Gentiles H1471 shall come H1980 (8804) to thy light H216, and kings H4428 to the brightness H5051 of thy rising H2225.
[4] Lift up H5375 (8798) thine eyes H5869 round about H5439, and see H7200 (8798): all they gather themselves together H6908 (8738), they come H935 (8804) to thee: thy sons H1121 shall come H935 (8799) from far H7350, and thy daughters H1323 shall be nursed H539 (8735) at [thy] side H6654.
[5] Then thou shalt see H7200 (8799) (8675) H3372 (8799), and flow together H5102 (8804), and thine heart H3824 shall fear H6342 (8804), and be enlarged H7337 (8804); because the abundance H1995 of the sea H3220 shall be converted H2015 (8735) unto thee, the forces H2428 of the Gentiles H1471 shall come H935 (8799) unto thee.
[6] The multitude H8229 of camels H1581 shall cover H3680 (8762) thee, the dromedaries H1070 of Midian H4080 and Ephah H5891; all they from Sheba H7614 shall come H935 (8799): they shall bring H5375 (8799) gold H2091 and incense H3828; and they shall shew forth H1319 (8762) the praises H8416 of the LORD H3068.
[7] All the flocks H6629 of Kedar H6938 shall be gathered together H6908 (8735) unto thee, the rams H352 of Nebaioth H5032 shall minister H8334 (8762) unto thee: they shall come up H5927 (8799) with acceptance H7522 on mine altar H4196, and I will glorify H6286 (8762) the house H1004 of my glory H8597.
[8] Who [are] these [that] fly H5774 (8799) as a cloud H5645, and as the doves H3123 to their windows H699?
[9] Surely the isles H339 shall wait H6960 (8762) for me, and the ships H591 of Tarshish H8659 first H7223, to bring H935 (8687) thy sons H1121 from far H7350, their silver H3701 and their gold H2091 with them, unto the name H8034 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430, and to the Holy One H6918 of Israel H3478, because he hath glorified H6286 (8765) thee.
[10] And the sons H1121 of strangers H5236 shall build up H1129 (8804) thy walls H2346, and their kings H4428 shall minister H8334 (8762) unto thee: for in my wrath H7110 I smote H5221 (8689) thee, but in my favour H7522 have I had mercy H7355 (8765) on thee.
[11] Therefore thy gates H8179 shall be open H6605 (8765) continually H8548; they shall not be shut H5462 (8735) day H3119 nor night H3915; that [men] may bring H935 (8687) unto thee the forces H2428 of the Gentiles H1471, and [that] their kings H4428 [may be] brought H5090 (8803).
[12] For the nation H1471 and kingdom H4467 that will not serve H5647 (8799) thee shall perish H6 (8799); yea, [those] nations H1471 shall be utterly H2717 (8800) wasted H2717 (8799).
[13] The glory H3519 of Lebanon H3844 shall come H935 (8799) unto thee, the fir tree H1265, the pine tree H8410, and the box H8391 together H3162, to beautify H6286 (8763) the place H4725 of my sanctuary H4720; and I will make the place H4725 of my feet H7272 glorious H3513 (8762).

[15] Whereas H8478 thou hast been forsaken H5800 (8803) and hated H8130 (8803), so that no man went through H5674 (8802) [thee], I will make H7760 (8804) thee an eternal H5769 excellency H1347, a joy H4885 of many H1755 generations H1755.
[16] Thou shalt also suck H3243 (8804) the milk H2461 of the Gentiles H1471, and shalt suck H3243 (8799) the breast H7699 of kings H4428: and thou shalt know H3045 (8804) that I the LORD H3068 [am] thy Saviour H3467 (8688) and thy Redeemer H1350 (8802), the mighty One H46 of Jacob H3290.

[18] Violence H2555 shall no more be heard H8085 (8735) in thy land H776, wasting H7701 nor destruction H7667 within thy borders H1366; but thou shalt call H7121 (8804) thy walls H2346 Salvation H3444, and thy gates H8179 Praise H8416.
[19] The sun H8121 shall be no more thy light H216 by day H3119; neither for brightness H5051 shall the moon H3394 give light H216 unto thee: but the LORD H3068 shall be unto thee an everlasting H5769 light H215 (8686), and thy God H430 thy glory H8597.
[20] Thy sun H8121 shall no more go down H935 (8799); neither shall thy moon H3391 withdraw H622 (8735) itself: for the LORD H3068 shall be thine everlasting H5769 light H216, and the days H3117 of thy mourning H60 shall be ended H7999 (8804).
[21] Thy people H5971 also [shall be] all righteous H6662: they shall inherit H3423 (8799) the land H776 for ever H5769, the branch H5342 of my planting H4302, the work H4639 of my hands H3027, that I may be glorified H6286 (8692).

Young’s Literal Translation

Isaiah 60 (YLT)

[1] Arise, be bright, for come hath thy light, And the honour of Jehovah hath risen on thee.
[2] For, lo, the darkness doth cover the earth, And thick darkness the peoples, And on thee rise doth Jehovah, And His honour on thee is seen.
[3] And come have nations to thy light, And kings to the brightness of thy rising.
[4] Lift up round about thine eyes and see, All of them have been gathered, they have come to thee, Thy sons from afar do come, And thy daughters on the side are supported.
[5] Then thou seest, and hast become bright, And thine heart hath been afraid and enlarged, For turn unto thee doth the multitude of the sea, The forces of nations do come to thee.
[6] A company of camels covereth thee, Dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, All of them from Sheba do come, Gold and frankincense they bear, And of the praises of Jehovah they proclaim the tidings.
[7] All the flock of Kedar are gathered to thee, The rams of Nebaioth do serve thee, They ascend for acceptance Mine altar, And the house of My beauty I beautify.
[8] Who are these-as a thick cloud they fly, And as doves unto their windows?
[9] Surely for Me isles do wait, And ships of Tarshish first, To bring thy sons from afar, Their silver and their gold with them, To the name of Jehovah thy God, And to the Holy One of Israel, Because He hath beautified thee.
[10] And sons of a stranger have built thy walls, And their kings do serve thee, For in My wrath I have smitten thee, And in My good pleasure I have pitied thee.
[11] And opened have thy gates continually, By day and by night they are not shut, To bring unto thee the force of nations, Even their kings are led.
[12] For the nation and the kingdom that do not serve thee perish, Yea, the nations are utterly wasted.
[13] The honour of Lebanon unto thee doth come, Fir, pine, and box together, To beautify the place of My sanctuary, And the place of My feet I make honourable.
[14] And come unto thee, bowing down, Have sons of those afflicting thee, And bowed themselves to the soles of thy feet Have all despising thee, And they have cried to thee: ‘City of Jehovah, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.’
[15] Instead of thy being forsaken and hated, And none passing through, I have made thee for an excellency age-during, A joy of generation and generation.
[16] And thou hast sucked the milk of nations, Yea, the breast of kings thou suckest, And thou hast known that I, Jehovah, Thy Saviour, and Thy Redeemer, Am the Mighty One of Jacob.
[17] Instead of the brass I bring in gold, And instead of the iron I bring in silver, And instead of the wood brass, And instead of the stone iron, And I have made thy inspection peace, And thy exactors righteousness.
[18] Violence is not heard any more in thy land, Spoiling and destruction in thy borders, And thou hast called ‘Salvation’ thy walls, And thy gates, ‘Praise.’
[19] To thee no more is the sun for a light by day, And for brightness the moon giveth not light to thee, And Jehovah hath become to thee A light age-during, and thy God thy beauty.
[20] Thy sun goeth no more in, And thy moon is not removed, For Jehovah becometh to thee a light age-during. And the days of thy mourning have been completed.
[21] And thy people are all of them righteous, To the age they possess the earth, A branch of My planting, A work of My hands, to be beautified.
[22] The little one doth become a chief, And the small one a mighty nation, I, Jehovah, in its own time do hasten it!
