“Take a scroll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.

Take H3947 (QalImpv) thee a roll H4039 of a book, H5612 and write H3789 (QalPerf) therein all the words H1697 that I have spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto thee against Israel, H3478 and against Judah, H3063 and against all the nations, H1471 from the day H3117 I spake H1696 (PielPerf) unto thee, from the days H3117 of Josiah, H2977 even unto this day. H3117

^[43:2] λαβε σεαυτω χαρτιον βιβλιου και γραψον επ αυτου παντας τους λογους ους εχρηματισα προς σε επι ιερουσαλημ και επι ιουδαν και επι παντα τα εθνη αφ ης ημερας λαλησαντος μου προς σε αφ ημερων ιωσια βασιλεως ιουδα και εως της ημερας ταυτης

Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all Yahweh’s words, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.

Then Jeremiah H3414 called H7121 (QalImpf) Baruch H1263 the son H1121 of Neriah: H5374 and Baruch H1263 wrote H3789 (QalImpf) from the mouth H6310 of Jeremiah H3414 all the words H1697 of the Lord, H3068 which he had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto him, upon a roll H4039 of a book. H5612

^[43:4] και εκαλεσεν ιερεμιας τον βαρουχ υιον νηριου και εγραψεν απο στοματος ιερεμιου παντας τους λογους κυριου ους εχρηματισεν προς αυτον εις χαρτιον βιβλιου

Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

Therefore go H935 (QalPerf) thou, and read H7121 (QalPerf) in the roll, H4039 which thou hast written H3789 (QalPerf) from my mouth, H6310 the words H1697 of the Lord H3068 in the ears H241 of the people H5971 in the Lord’s H3068 house H1004 upon the fasting H6685 day: H3117 and also thou shalt read H7121 (QalImpf) them in the ears H241 of all Judah H3063 that come out H935 (QalActPtc) of their cities. H5892

^[43:6] και αναγνωση εν τω χαρτιω τουτω εις τα ωτα του λαου εν οικω κυριου εν ημερα νηστειας και εν ωσι παντος ιουδα των ερχομενων εκ πολεως αυτων αναγνωση αυτοις

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, “Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

Therefore all the princes H8269 sent H7971 (QalImpf) Jehudi H3065 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 the son H1121 of Shelemiah, H8018 the son H1121 of Cushi, H3570 unto Baruch, H1263 saying, H559 (QalInf) Take H3947 (QalImpv) in thine hand H3027 the roll H4039 wherein thou hast read H7121 (QalPerf) in the ears H241 of the people, H5971 and come. H3212 (QalImpv) So Baruch H1263 the son H1121 of Neriah H5374 took H3947 (QalImpf) the roll H4039 in his hand, H3027 and came H935 (QalImpf) unto them.

^[43:14] και απεστειλαν παντες οι αρχοντες προς βαρουχ υιον νηριου τον ιουδιν υιον ναθανιου υιου σελεμιου υιου χουσι λεγοντες το χαρτιον εν ω συ αναγινωσκεις εν αυτω εν ωσι του λαου λαβε αυτο εις την χειρα σου και ηκε και ελαβεν βαρουχ το χαρτιον και κατεβη προς αυτους

They went in to the king into the court, but they had laid up the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe. Then they told all the words in the hearing of the king.

And they went in H935 (QalImpf) to the king H4428 into the court, H2691 but they laid up H6485 (HiphPerf) the roll H4039 in the chamber H3957 of Elishama H476 the scribe, H5608 (QalActPtc) and told H5046 (HiphImpf) all the words H1697 in the ears H241 of the king. H4428

^[43:20] και εισηλθον προς τον βασιλεα εις την αυλην και το χαρτιον εδωκαν φυλασσειν εν οικω ελισαμα και ανηγγειλαν τω βασιλει παντας τους λογους

So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king, and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king.

So the king H4428 sent H7971 (QalImpf) Jehudi H3065 to fetch H3947 (QalInf) the roll: H4039 and he took H3947 (QalImpf) it out of Elishama H476 the scribe’s H5608 (QalActPtc) chamber. H3957 And Jehudi H3065 read H7121 (QalImpf) it in the ears H241 of the king, H4428 and in the ears H241 of all the princes H8269 which stood H5975 (QalActPtc) beside H5921 the king. H4428

^[43:21] και απεστειλεν ο βασιλευς τον ιουδιν λαβειν το χαρτιον και ελαβεν αυτο εξ οικου ελισαμα και ανεγνω ιουδιν εις τα ωτα του βασιλεως και εις τα ωτα παντων των αρχοντων των εστηκοτων περι τον βασιλεα

When Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

And it came to pass, [that] when Jehudi H3065 had read H7121 (QalInf) three H7969 or four H702 leaves, H1817 he cut H7167 (QalImpf) it with the penknife, H8593 H5608 (QalActPtc) and cast H7993 (HiphInf) [it] into the fire H784 that [was] on the hearth, H254 until all the roll H4039 was consumed H8552 (QalInf) in the fire H784 that [was] on the hearth. H254

^[43:23] και εγενηθη αναγινωσκοντος ιουδιν τρεις σελιδας και τεσσαρας απετεμνεν αυτας τω ξυρω του γραμματεως και ερριπτεν εις το πυρ το επι της εσχαρας εως εξελιπεν πας ο χαρτης εις το πυρ το επι της εσχαρας

Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not listen to them.

Nevertheless Elnathan H494 and Delaiah H1806 and Gemariah H1587 had made intercession H6293 (HiphPerf) to the king H4428 that he would not burn H8313 (QalInf) the roll: H4039 but he would not hear H8085 (QalPerf) them.

^[43:25] και ελναθαν και γοδολιας και γαμαριας υπεθεντο τω βασιλει προς το μη κατακαυσαι το χαρτιον

Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, after the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

Then the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came to Jeremiah, H3414 after H310 that the king H4428 had burned H8313 (QalInf) the roll, H4039 and the words H1697 which Baruch H1263 wrote H3789 (QalPerf) at the mouth H6310 of Jeremiah, H3414 saying, H559 (QalInf)

^[43:27] και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς ιερεμιαν μετα το κατακαυσαι τον βασιλεα το χαρτιον παντας τους λογους ους εγραψεν βαρουχ απο στοματος ιερεμιου λεγων

“Take again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.

Take H3947 (QalImpv) thee again H7725 (QalImpv) another H312 roll, H4039 and write H3789 (QalImpv) in it all the former H7223 words H1697 that were in the first H7223 roll, H4039 which Jehoiakim H3079 the king H4428 of Judah H3063 hath burned. H8313 (QalPerf)

^[43:28] παλιν λαβε συ χαρτιον ετερον και γραψον παντας τους λογους τους οντας επι του χαρτιου ους κατεκαυσεν ο βασιλευς ιωακιμ

Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, ‘Yahweh says: “You have burned this scroll, saying, ‘Why have you written therein, saying, “The king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will cause to cease from there man and animal”?’ ”

And thou shalt say H559 (QalImpf) to Jehoiakim H3079 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Thou hast burned H8313 (QalPerf) this roll, H4039 saying, H559 (QalInf) Why hast thou written H3789 (QalPerf) therein, saying, H559 (QalInf) The king H4428 of Babylon H894 shall certainly H935 (QalInf) come H935 (QalImpf) and destroy H7843 (HiphPerf) this land, H776 and shall cause to cease H7673 (HiphPerf) from thence man H120 and beast? H929

^[43:29] και ερεις ουτως ειπεν κυριος συ κατεκαυσας το χαρτιον τουτο λεγων δια τι εγραψας επ αυτω λεγων εισπορευομενος εισπορευσεται ο βασιλευς βαβυλωνος και εξολεθρευσει την γην ταυτην και εκλειψει απ αυτης ανθρωπος και κτηνη

Then Jeremiah took another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.

Then took H3947 (QalPerf) Jeremiah H3414 another H312 roll, H4039 and gave H5414 (QalImpf) it to Baruch H1263 the scribe, H5608 (QalActPtc) the son H1121 of Neriah; H5374 who wrote H3789 (QalImpf) therein from the mouth H6310 of Jeremiah H3414 all the words H1697 of the book H5612 which Jehoiakim H3079 king H4428 of Judah H3063 had burned H8313 (QalPerf) in the fire: H784 and there were added H3254 (NiphPerf) besides unto them many H7227 like H1992 words. H1697

^[43:32] και ελαβεν βαρουχ χαρτιον ετερον και εγραψεν επ αυτω απο στοματος ιερεμιου απαντας τους λογους του βιβλιου ου κατεκαυσεν ιωακιμ και ετι προσετεθησαν αυτω λογοι πλειονες ως ουτοι

When I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.

And when I looked, H7200 (QalImpf) behold, an hand H3027 [was] sent H7971 (QalPasPtc) unto me; and, lo, a roll H4039 of a book H5612 [was] therein;

και ειδον και ιδου χειρ εκτεταμενη προς με και εν αυτη κεφαλις βιβλιου

He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”

Moreover he said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 eat H398 (QalImpv) that thou findest; H4672 (QalImpf) eat H398 (QalImpv) this roll, H4039 and go H3212 (QalImpv) speak H1696 (PielImpv) unto the house H1004 of Israel. H3478

και ειπεν προς με υιε ανθρωπου καταφαγε την κεφαλιδα ταυτην και πορευθητι και λαλησον τοις υιοις ισραηλ

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the scroll.

So I opened H6605 (QalImpf) my mouth, H6310 and he caused me to eat H398 (HiphImpf) that roll. H4039

και διηνοιξα το στομα μου και εψωμισεν με την κεφαλιδα

He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your belly and your bowels with it.” Then I ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

And he said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Son H1121 of man, H120 cause thy belly H990 to eat, H398 (HiphImpf) and fill H4390 (PielImpf) thy bowels H4578 with this roll H4039 that I give H5414 (QalActPtc) thee. Then did I eat H398 (QalImpf) [it]; and it was in my mouth H6310 as honey H1706 for sweetness. H4966

και ειπεν προς με υιε ανθρωπου το στομα σου φαγεται και η κοιλια σου πλησθησεται της κεφαλιδος ταυτης της δεδομενης εις σε και εφαγον αυτην και εγενετο εν τω στοματι μου ως μελι γλυκαζον

Then again I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying scroll.

Then I turned, H7725 (QalImpf) and lifted up H5375 (QalImpf) mine eyes, H5869 and looked, H7200 (QalImpf) and behold a flying H5774 (QalActPtc) roll. H4039

και επεστρεψα και ηρα τους οφθαλμους μου και ειδον και ιδου δρεπανον πετομενον

He said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits,° and its width ten cubits.”

Zechariah 5:2 A cubit is the length from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow on a man’s arm, or about 18 inches or 46 centimeters.

And he said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, What seest H7200 (QalActPtc) thou? And I answered, H559 (QalImpf) I see H7200 (QalActPtc) a flying H5774 (QalActPtc) roll; H4039 the length H753 thereof [is] twenty H6242 cubits, H520 and the breadth H7341 thereof ten H6235 cubits. H520
