Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.

αυτος ανεστη και επαταξεν εν τοις αλλοφυλοις εως ου εκοπιασεν η χειρ αυτου και προσεκολληθη η χειρ αυτου προς την μαχαιραν και εποιησεν κυριος σωτηριαν μεγαλην εν τη ημερα εκεινη και ο λαος εκαθητο οπισω αυτου πλην εκδιδυσκειν

He said, “Be it far from me, Yahweh, that I should do this! Isn’t this the blood of the men who risked their lives to go?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

“Go and speak to David, ‘Yahweh says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.” ’ ”

Now therefore as Yahweh lives, who has established me and set me on my father David’s throne, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today.”
