Amos 2 (WEBP)
[1] Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;
[2] but I will send a fire on Moab, and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth; and Moab will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet;
[3] and I will cut off the judge from among them, and will kill all its princes with him,” says Yahweh.
[4] Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have rejected Yahweh’s law, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers walked;
[5] but I will send a fire on Judah, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”
[6] Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals;
[7] They trample the heads of the poor into the dust of the earth and deny justice to the oppressed. A man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name.
[8] They lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge. In the house of their God§ they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
[9] Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
[10] Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
[11] I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Isn’t this true, you children of Israel?” says Yahweh.
[12] “But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘Don’t prophesy!’
[13] Behold,§ I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain.
[14] Flight will perish from the swift. The strong won’t strengthen his force. The mighty won’t deliver himself.
[15] He who handles the bow won’t stand. He who is swift of foot won’t escape. He who rides the horse won’t deliver himself.
[16] He who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day,” says Yahweh.
Amos 2:8 The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “אֱלֹהִ֑ים” (Elohim).
Amos 2:13 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

Amos 2 (KJVS)
[1] Thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068; For three H7969 transgressions H6588 of Moab H4124, and for four H702, I will not turn away H7725 (8686) [the punishment] thereof; because he burned H8313 (8800) the bones H6106 of the king H4428 of Edom H123 into lime H7875:
[2] But I will send H7971 (8765) a fire H784 upon Moab H4124, and it shall devour H398 (8804) the palaces H759 of Kerioth H7152: and Moab H4124 shall die H4191 (8804) with tumult H7588, with shouting H8643, [and] with the sound H6963 of the trumpet H7782:
[3] And I will cut off H3772 (8689) the judge H8199 (8802) from the midst H7130 thereof, and will slay H2026 (8799) all the princes H8269 thereof with him, saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068.
[4] Thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068; For three H7969 transgressions H6588 of Judah H3063, and for four H702, I will not turn away H7725 (8686) [the punishment] thereof; because they have despised H3988 (8800) the law H8451 of the LORD H3068, and have not kept H8104 (8804) his commandments H2706, and their lies H3577 caused them to err H8582 (8686), after H310 the which their fathers H1 have walked H1980 (8804):
[5] But I will send H7971 (8765) a fire H784 upon Judah H3063, and it shall devour H398 (8804) the palaces H759 of Jerusalem H3389.
[6] Thus saith H559 (8804) the LORD H3068; For three H7969 transgressions H6588 of Israel H3478, and for four H702, I will not turn away H7725 (8686) [the punishment] thereof; because they sold H4376 (8800) the righteous H6662 for silver H3701, and the poor H34 for a pair of shoes H5275;
[7] That pant H7602 (8802) after the dust H6083 of the earth H776 on the head H7218 of the poor H1800, and turn aside H5186 (8686) the way H1870 of the meek H6035: and a man H376 and his father H1 will go H3212 (8799) in unto the [same] maid H5291, to profane H2490 (8763) my holy H6944 name H8034:
[8] And they lay [themselves] down H5186 (8686) upon clothes H899 laid to pledge H2254 (8803) by H681 every altar H4196, and they drink H8354 (8799) the wine H3196 of the condemned H6064 (8803) [in] the house H1004 of their god H430.
[9] Yet destroyed H8045 (8689) I the Amorite H567 before H6440 them, whose height H1363 [was] like the height H1363 of the cedars H730, and he [was] strong H2634 as the oaks H437; yet I destroyed H8045 (8686) his fruit H6529 from above H4605, and his roots H8328 from beneath.
[10] Also I brought you up H5927 (8689) from the land H776 of Egypt H4714, and led H3212 (8686) you forty H705 years H8141 through the wilderness H4057, to possess H3423 (8800) the land H776 of the Amorite H567.
[11] And I raised up H6965 (8686) of your sons H1121 for prophets H5030, and of your young men H970 for Nazarites H5139. [Is it] not even thus, O ye children H1121 of Israel H3478? saith H5002 (8803) the LORD H3068.
[12] But ye gave the Nazarites H5139 wine H3196 to drink H8248 (8686); and commanded H6680 (8765) the prophets H5030, saying H559 (8800), Prophesy H5012 (8735) not.
[13] Behold, I am pressed H5781 (8688) under you, as a cart H5699 is pressed H5781 (8686) [that is] full H4392 of sheaves H5995.
[14] Therefore the flight H4498 shall perish H6 (8804) from the swift H7031, and the strong H2389 shall not strengthen H553 (8762) his force H3581, neither shall the mighty H1368 deliver H4422 (8762) himself H5315:
[15] Neither shall he stand H5975 (8799) that handleth H8610 (8802) the bow H7198; and [he that is] swift H7031 of foot H7272 shall not deliver H4422 (8762) [himself]: neither shall he that rideth H7392 (8802) the horse H5483 deliver H4422 (8762) himself H5315.
[16] And [he that is] courageous H533 H3820 among the mighty H1368 shall flee away H5127 (8799) naked H6174 in that day H3117, saith H5002 (8803) the LORD H3068.
Young’s Literal Translation
Amos 2 (YLT)
[1] Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his burning the bones of the king of Edom to lime,
[2] And I have sent a fire against Moab, And it hath consumed the palaces of Kerioth, And dying with noise is Moab, With shouting, with voice of a trumpet.
[3] And I have cut off a judge from her midst, And all its heads I slay with him, said Jehovah.
[4] Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, And for four, I do not reserve it, Because of their loathing the law of Jehovah, And His statutes they have not kept, And their lies do cause them to err, After which their fathers did walk,
[5] And I have sent a fire against Judah, And it hath consumed palaces of Jerusalem.
[6] Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their selling for silver the righteous, And the needy for a pair of sandals.
[7] Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go unto the damsel, So as to pollute My holy name.
[8] And on pledged garments they stretch themselves near every altar, And the wine of fined ones they drink in the house of their gods.
[9] And I-I have destroyed the Amorite from before them, Whose height is as the height of cedars, And strong he is as the oaks, And I destroy his fruit from above, And his roots from beneath.
[10] And I-I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, And cause you to go in a wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite.
[11] And I raise of your sons for prophets, And of your choice ones for Nazarites, Is not this true, O sons of Israel? An affirmation of Jehovah.
[12] And ye cause the Nazarites to drink wine, And on the prophets ye have laid a charge, Saying, ‘Do not prophecy!’
[13] Lo, I am pressing you under, As the full cart doth press for itself a sheaf.
[14] And perished hath refuge from the swift, And the strong strengtheneth not his power, And the mighty delivereth not his soul.
[15] And the handler of the bow standeth not, And the swift with his feet delivereth not himself, And the rider of the horse delivereth not his soul.
[16] And the courageous of heart among the mighty, Naked doth flee in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah!
