Hosea 8 (WEBP)
[1] “Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over Yahweh’s house, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
[2] They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’
[3] Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.
[4] They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, that they may be cut off.
[5] Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
[6] For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
[7] For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.
[8] Israel is swallowed up. Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.
[9] For they have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.
[10] But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
[11] Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.
[12] I wrote for him the many things of my law, but they were regarded as a strange thing.
[13] As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but Yahweh doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
[14] For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”

Hosea 8 (KJVS)
[1] [Set] the trumpet H7782 to thy mouth H2441. [He shall come] as an eagle H5404 against the house H1004 of the LORD H3068, because they have transgressed H5674 (8804) my covenant H1285, and trespassed H6586 (8804) against my law H8451.
[2] Israel H3478 shall cry H2199 (8799) unto me, My God H430, we know H3045 (8804) thee.
[3] Israel H3478 hath cast off H2186 (8804) [the thing that is] good H2896: the enemy H341 (8802) shall pursue H7291 (8799) him.
[4] They have set up kings H4427 (8689), but not by me: they have made princes H7786 (8689), and I knew H3045 (8804) [it] not: of their silver H3701 and their gold H2091 have they made H6213 (8804) them idols H6091, that they may be cut off H3772 (8735).
[5] Thy calf H5695, O Samaria H8111, hath cast H2186 (8804) [thee] off; mine anger H639 is kindled H2734 (8804) against them: how long [will it be] ere H3808 they attain H3201 (8799) to innocency H5356?
[6] For from Israel H3478 [was] it also: the workman H2796 made H6213 (8804) it; therefore it [is] not God H430: but the calf H5695 of Samaria H8111 shall be broken in pieces H7616.
[7] For they have sown H2232 (8799) the wind H7307, and they shall reap H7114 (8799) the whirlwind H5492: it hath no stalk H7054: the bud H6780 shall yield H6213 (8799) no meal H7058: if H194 so be it yield H6213 (8799), the strangers H2114 (8801) shall swallow it up H1104 (8799).
[8] Israel H3478 is swallowed up H1104 (8738): now shall they be among the Gentiles H1471 as a vessel H3627 wherein [is] no pleasure H2656.
[9] For they are gone up H5927 (8804) to Assyria H804, a wild ass H6501 alone H909 (8802) by himself: Ephraim H669 hath hired H8566 (8689) lovers H158.
[10] Yea, though they have hired H8566 (8799) among the nations H1471, now will I gather H6908 (8762) them, and they shall sorrow H2490 (8686) a little H4592 for the burden H4853 of the king H4428 of princes H8269.
[11] Because Ephraim H669 hath made many H7235 (8689) altars H4196 to sin H2398 (8800), altars H4196 shall be unto him to sin H2398 (8800).
[12] I have written H3789 (8799) to him the great things H7230 (8675) H7239 of my law H8451, [but] they were counted H2803 (8738) as a strange thing H2114 (8801).
[13] They sacrifice H2076 (8799) flesh H1320 [for] the sacrifices H2077 of mine offerings H1890, and eat H398 (8799) [it; but] the LORD H3068 accepteth H7521 (8804) them not; now will he remember H2142 (8799) their iniquity H5771, and visit H6485 (8799) their sins H2403: they shall return H7725 (8799) to Egypt H4714.
[14] For Israel H3478 hath forgotten H7911 (8799) his Maker H6213 (8802), and buildeth H1129 (8799) temples H1964; and Judah H3063 hath multiplied H7235 (8689) fenced H1219 (8803) cities H5892: but I will send H7971 (8765) a fire H784 upon his cities H5892, and it shall devour H398 (8804) the palaces H759 thereof.
Young’s Literal Translation
Hosea 8 (YLT)
[1] ‘Unto thy mouth-a trumpet, As an eagle against the house of Jehovah, Because they transgressed My covenant, And against My law they have rebelled.
[2] To Me they cry, ‘My God, we-Israel-have known Thee.’
[3] Cast off good hath Israel, an enemy pursueth him.
[4] They have made kings, and not by Me, They have made princes, and I have not known, Their silver and their gold they have made to them idols, So that they are cut off.
[5] Cast off hath thy calf, O Samaria, Burned hath Mine anger against them, Till when are they not capable of purity?
[6] For even it is of Israel; an artificer made it, And it is not God, For the calf of Samaria is fragments!
[7] For wind they sow, and a hurricane they reap, Stalk it hath none-a shoot not yielding grain, If so be it yield-strangers do swallow it up.
[8] Israel hath been swallowed up, Now they have been among nations, As a vessel in which is no delight.
[9] For they-they have gone up to Asshur, A wild ass alone by himself is Ephraim, They have hired lovers!
[10] Also though they hire among nations, Now I gather them, and they are pained a little, From the burden of a king of princes.
[11] Because Ephraim did multiply altars to sin, They have been to him altars to sin.
[12] I write for him numerous things of My law, As a strange thing they have been reckoned.
[13] The sacrifices of Mine offerings! They sacrifice flesh, and they eat, Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin, They-to Egypt they turn back.
[14] And forget doth Israel his Maker, and buildeth temples, And Judah hath multiplied cities of defence, And I have sent a fire into his cities, And it hath consumed their palaces!
