The house, when it was under construction, was built of stone prepared at the quarry; and no hammer or ax or any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was under construction.

And the house, H1004 when it was in building, H1129 (NiphInf) was built H1129 (NiphPerf) of stone H68 made ready H8003 before it was brought H4551 thither: so that there was neither hammer H4717 nor axe H1631 [nor] any tool H3627 of iron H1270 heard H8085 (NiphPerf) in the house, H1004 while it was in building. The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house. They went up by winding stairs into the middle floor, and out of the middle into the third.

So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.

και ωκοδομησεν τον οικον και συνετελεσεν αυτον και εκοιλοσταθμησεν τον οικον κεδροις

He built the floors all along the house, each five cubits high; and they rested on the house with timbers of cedar.

“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.

So Solomon built the house and finished it.

So Solomon H8010 built H1129 (QalImpf) the house, H1004 and finished H3615 (PielImpf) it.

He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood. He covered the floor of the house with cypress boards.

And he built H1129 (QalImpf) the walls H7023 of the house H1004 within H1004 with boards H6763 of cedar, H730 both the floor H7172 of the house, H1004 and the walls H7023 of the cieling: H5604 [and] he covered H6823 (PielPerf) [them] on the inside H1004 with wood, H6086 and covered H6823 (PielImpf) the floor H7172 of the house H1004 with planks H6763 of fir. και ωκοδομησεν τους τοιχους του οικου δια ξυλων κεδρινων απο του εδαφους του οικου και εως των δοκων και εως των τοιχων εκοιλοσταθμησεν συνεχομενα ξυλοις εσωθεν και περιεσχεν το εσω του οικου εν πλευραις πευκιναις

He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.

In front of the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.

And the house, H1004 that [is], the temple H1964 before H3942 it, was forty H705 cubits H520 [long].

και τεσσαρακοντα πηχων ην ο ναος κατα προσωπον

There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers. All was cedar. No stone was visible.

And the cedar H730 of the house H1004 within H6441 [was] carved H4734 with knops H6497 and open H6362 (QalPasPtc) flowers: H6731 all [was] cedar; H730 there was no stone H68 seen. H7200 (NiphPerf)

He prepared an inner sanctuary in the middle of the house within, to set the ark of Yahweh’s covenant there.

And the oracle H1687 he prepared H3559 (HiphPerf) in H8432 the house H1004 within, H6441 to set H5414 (QalInf) there the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the Lord. H3068

του δαβιρ εν μεσω του οικου εσωθεν δουναι εκει την κιβωτον διαθηκης κυριου

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold. He drew chains of gold across before the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.

κατα προσωπον του δαβιρ και περιεσχεν αυτο χρυσιω

He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. He also overlaid the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary with gold.

And the whole house H1004 he overlaid H6823 (PielPerf) with gold, H2091 until he had finished H8552 (QalInf) all the house: H1004 also the whole altar H4196 that [was] by the oracle H1687 he overlaid H6823 (PielPerf) with gold. H2091

και ολον τον οικον περιεσχεν χρυσιω εως συντελειας παντος του οικου

He set the cherubim within the inner house. The wings of the cherubim were stretched out, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house.

και αμφοτερα τα χερουβιν εν μεσω του οικου του εσωτατου και διεπετασεν τας πτερυγας αυτων και ηπτετο πτερυξ μια του τοιχου και πτερυξ ηπτετο του τοιχου του δευτερου και αι πτερυγες αυτων αι εν μεσω του οικου ηπτοντο πτερυξ πτερυγος

He carved all the walls of the house around with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inside and outside.

He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inside and outside.

The foundation of Yahweh’s house was laid in the fourth year, in the month Ziv.

In the fourth H7243 year H8141 was the foundation H3245 of the house H1004 of the Lord H3068 laid, H3245 (PualPerf) in the month H3391 Zif: H2099

In the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its specifications. So he spent seven years building it.

And in the eleventh H259 H6240 year, H8141 in the month H3391 Bul, H945 which [is] the eighth H8066 month, H2320 was the house H1004 finished H3615 (QalPerf) throughout all the parts H1697 thereof, and according to all the fashion H4941 of it. Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

But Solomon H8010 was building H1129 (QalPerf) his own house H1004 thirteen H7969 H6240 years, H8141 and he finished H3615 (PielImpf) all his house. H1004

^[7:50] και συνετελεσεν σαλωμων ολον τον οικον αυτου ^[7:38] και τον οικον αυτου ωκοδομησεν σαλωμων τρισκαιδεκα ετεσιν

For he built the House of the Forest of Lebanon. Its length was one hundred cubits,° its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.

His house where he was to dwell, the other court within the porch, was of the same construction. He made also a house for Pharaoh’s daughter (whom Solomon had taken as wife), like this porch.

All these were of costly stones, even of stone cut according to measure, sawed with saws, inside and outside, even from the foundation to the coping, and so on the outside to the great court.

All these [were of] costly H3368 stones, H68 according to the measures H4060 of hewed stones, H1496 sawed H1641 (PoalPtc) with saws, H4050 within H1004 and without, H2351 even from the foundation H4527 unto the coping, H2947 and [so] on the outside H2351 toward the great H1419 court. H2691

^[7:46] παντα ταυτα εκ λιθων τιμιων κεκολαμμενα εκ διαστηματος εσωθεν και εκ του θεμελιου εως των γεισων και εξωθεν εις την αυλην την μεγαλην

The great court around had three courses of cut stone with a course of cedar beams, like the inner court of Yahweh’s house and the porch of the house.

And the great H1419 court H2691 round about H5439 [was] with three H7969 rows H2905 of hewed stones, H1496 and a row H2905 of cedar H730 beams, H3773 both for the inner H6442 court H2691 of the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and for the porch H197 of the house. H1004

It stood on twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set on them above, and all their hindquarters were inward.

Its opening within the capital and above was a cubit. Its opening was round like the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also on its opening were engravings, and their panels were square, not round.

He set the bases, five on the right side of the house and five on the left side of the house. He set the sea on the right side of the house eastward and toward the south.

And he put H5414 (QalImpf) five H2568 bases H4350 on the right H3225 side H3802 of the house, H1004 and five H2568 on the left H8040 side H3802 of the house: H1004 and he set H5414 (QalPerf) the sea H3220 on the right H3233 side H3802 of the house H1004 eastward H6924 over against H4136 the south. Hiram made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished doing all the work that he worked for King Solomon in Yahweh’s house:

And Hiram H2438 made H6213 (QalImpf) the lavers, H3595 and the shovels, H3257 and the basons. H4219 So Hiram H2438 made H3615 (PielImpf) an end of doing H6213 (QalInf) all the work H4399 that he made H6213 (QalPerf) king H4428 Solomon H8010 for the house H1004 of the Lord: H3068

^[7:26] και εποιησεν χιραμ τους λεβητας και τας θερμαστρεις και τας φιαλας και συνετελεσεν χιραμ ποιων παντα τα εργα α εποιησεν τω βασιλει σαλωμων εν οικω κυριου

the pots; the shovels; and the basins. All of these vessels, which Hiram made for King Solomon in Yahweh’s house, were of burnished bronze.

And the pots, H5518 and the shovels, H3257 and the basons: H4219 and all these vessels, H3627 which Hiram H2438 made H6213 (QalPerf) to king H4428 Solomon H8010 for the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 [were of] bright H4178 (PualPtc) brass. H5178

Solomon made all the vessels that were in Yahweh’s house: the golden altar and the table that the show bread was on, of gold;

And Solomon H8010 made H6213 (QalImpf) all the vessels H3627 that [pertained] unto the house H1004 of the Lord: H3068 the altar H4196 of gold, H2091 and the table H7979 of gold, H2091 whereupon the shewbread H3899 H6440 [was],

the cups, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and the fire pans, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, of the temple, of gold.

And the bowls, H5592 and the snuffers, H4212 and the basons, H4219 and the spoons, H3709 and the censers H4289 [of] pure H5462 (QalPasPtc) gold; H2091 and the hinges H6596 [of] gold, H2091 [both] for the doors H1817 of the inner H6442 house, H1004 the most H6944 holy H6944 [place, and] for the doors H1817 of the house, H1004 [to wit], of the temple. Thus all the work that King Solomon did in Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the vessels—and put them in the treasuries of Yahweh’s house.

So was ended H7999 (QalImpf) all the work H4399 that king H4428 Solomon H8010 made H6213 (QalPerf) for the house H1004 of the Lord. ^[7:37] και ανεπληρωθη παν το εργον ο εποιησεν σαλωμων οικου κυριου και εισηνεγκεν σαλωμων τα αγια δαυιδ του πατρος αυτου και παντα τα αγια σαλωμων το αργυριον και το χρυσιον και τα σκευη εδωκεν εις τους θησαυρους οικου κυριου

The priests brought in the ark of Yahweh’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the cherubim’s wings.

And the priests H3548 brought in H935 (HiphImpf) the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the Lord H3068 unto his place, H4725 into the oracle H1687 of the house, H1004 to the most H6944 holy H6944 [place, even] under the wings H3671 of the cherubims. H3742

και εισφερουσιν οι ιερεις την κιβωτον εις τον τοπον αυτης εις το δαβιρ του οικου εις τα αγια των αγιων υπο τας πτερυγας των χερουβιν

It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled Yahweh’s house,

And it came to pass, when the priests H3548 were come out H3318 (QalInf) of the holy H6944 [place], that the cloud H6051 filled H4390 (QalPerf) the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068

και εγενετο ως εξηλθον οι ιερεις εκ του αγιου και η νεφελη επλησεν τον οικον

so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for Yahweh’s glory filled Yahweh’s house.

So that the priests H3548 could H3201 (QalPerf) not stand H5975 (QalInf) to minister H8334 (PielInf) because H6440 of the cloud: H6051 for the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 had filled H4390 (QalPerf) the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068

και ουκ ηδυναντο οι ιερεις στηναι λειτουργειν απο προσωπου της νεφελης οτι επλησεν δοξα κυριου τον οικον

I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”

I have surely H1129 (QalInf) built H1129 (QalPerf) thee an house H1004 to dwell in, H2073 a settled place H4349 for thee to abide in H3427 (QalInf) for ever. H5769

‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’

Since the day H3117 that I brought forth H3318 (HiphPerf) my people H5971 Israel H3478 out of Egypt, H4714 I chose H977 (QalPerf) no city H5892 out of all the tribes H7626 of Israel H3478 to build H1129 (QalInf) an house, H1004 that my name H8034 might be therein; but I chose H977 (QalImpf) David H1732 to be over my people H5971 Israel. αφ ης ημερας εξηγαγον τον λαον μου τον ισραηλ εξ αιγυπτου ουκ εξελεξαμην εν πολει εν ενι σκηπτρω ισραηλ του οικοδομησαι οικον του ειναι το ονομα μου εκει και εξελεξαμην εν ιερουσαλημ ειναι το ονομα μου εκει και εξελεξαμην τον δαυιδ του ειναι επι τον λαον μου τον ισραηλ

“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

And it was in the heart H3824 of David H1732 my father H1 to build H1129 (QalInf) an house H1004 for the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel. H3478

και εγενετο επι της καρδιας δαυιδ του πατρος μου οικοδομησαι οικον τω ονοματι κυριου θεου ισραηλ

But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto David H1732 my father, H1 Whereas H3282 H834 it was in thine heart H3824 to build H1129 (QalInf) an house H1004 unto my name, H8034 thou didst well H2895 (HiphPerf) that it was in thine heart. H3824

και ειπεν κυριος προς δαυιδ τον πατερα μου ανθ ων ηλθεν επι την καρδιαν σου του οικοδομησαι οικον τω ονοματι μου καλως εποιησας οτι εγενηθη επι την καρδιαν σου

Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

Nevertheless H7535 thou shalt not build H1129 (QalImpf) the house; H1004 but thy son H1121 that shall come forth out H3318 (QalActPtc) of thy loins, H2504 he shall build H1129 (QalImpf) the house H1004 unto my name. H8034

πλην συ ουκ οικοδομησεις τον οικον αλλ η ο υιος σου ο εξελθων εκ των πλευρων σου ουτος οικοδομησει τον οικον τω ονοματι μου

Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

And the Lord H3068 hath performed H6965 (HiphImpf) his word H1697 that he spake, H1696 (PielPerf) and I am risen up H6965 (QalImpf) in the room of David H1732 my father, H1 and sit H3427 (QalImpf) on the throne H3678 of Israel, H3478 as the Lord H3068 promised, H1696 (PielPerf) and have built H1129 (QalImpf) an house H1004 for the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel. και ανεστησεν κυριος το ρημα αυτου ο ελαλησεν και ανεστην αντι δαυιδ του πατρος μου και εκαθισα επι του θρονου ισραηλ καθως ελαλησεν κυριος και ωκοδομησα τον οικον τω ονοματι κυριου θεου ισραηλ

But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

και συ εισακουση εκ του ουρανου εξ ετοιμου κατοικητηριου σου και ποιησεις κατα παντα οσα αν επικαλεσηται σε ο αλλοτριος οπως γνωσιν παντες οι λαοι το ονομα σου και φοβωνται σε καθως ο λαος σου ισραηλ και γνωσιν οτι το ονομα σου επικεκληται επι τον οικον τουτον ον ωκοδομησα

“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to Yahweh toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name,

οτι εξελευσεται ο λαος σου εις πολεμον επι τους εχθρους αυτου εν οδω η επιστρεψεις αυτους και προσευξονται εν ονοματι κυριου οδον της πολεως ης εξελεξω εν αυτη και του οικου ου ωκοδομησα τω ονοματι σου

if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen and the house which I have built for your name,

και επιστρεψωσιν προς σε εν ολη καρδια αυτων και εν ολη ψυχη αυτων εν τη γη εχθρων αυτων ου μετηγαγες αυτους και προσευξονται προς σε οδον γης αυτων ης εδωκας τοις πατρασιν αυτων της πολεως ης εξελεξω και του οικου ου ωκοδομηκα τω ονοματι σου
