και ηυξατο ιακωβ ευχην λεγων εαν η κυριος ο θεος μετ εμου και διαφυλαξη με εν τη οδω ταυτη η εγω πορευομαι και δω μοι αρτον φαγειν και ιματιον περιβαλεσθαι

then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you.”

And this stone, H68 which I have set H7760 (QalPerf) [for] a pillar, H4676 shall be God’s H430 house: H1004 and of all that thou shalt give H5414 (QalImpf) me I will surely H6237 (PielInf) give the tenth H6237 (PielImpf) unto thee.

και ο λιθος ουτος ον εστησα στηλην εσται μοι οικος θεου και παντων ων εαν μοι δως δεκατην αποδεκατωσω αυτα σοι

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”

Laban said, “What shall I give you?” Jacob said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.

Jacob heard Laban’s sons’ words, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s. He has obtained all this wealth from that which was our father’s.”

“These twenty years I have been with you. Your ewes and your female goats have not cast their young, and I haven’t eaten the rams of your flocks.

These twenty years I have been in your house. I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and you have changed my wages ten times.

Laban said, “This heap is witness between me and you today.” Therefore it was named Galeed

Laban said to Jacob, “See this heap, and see the pillar, which I have set between me and you.

May this heap be a witness, and the pillar be a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.

εαν τε γαρ εγω μη διαβω προς σε μηδε συ διαβης προς με τον βουνον τουτον και την στηλην ταυτην επι κακια

When he saw them, Jacob said, “This is God’s army.” He called the name of that place Mahanaim.°

Genesis 32:2 “Mahanaim” means “two camps”.

He commanded also the second, and the third, and all that followed the herds, saying, “This is how you shall speak to Esau, when you find him.

Jacob asked him, “Please tell me your name.” He said, “Why is it that you ask what my name is?” So he blessed him there.

Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Only on this condition will the men consent to us to live with us, to become one people, if every male among us is circumcised, as they are circumcised.

When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid, for now you will have another son.”

He said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed:

He told it to his father and to his brothers. His father rebuked him, and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Will I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves down to the earth before you?”

The man said, “They have left here, for I heard them say, ‘Let’s go to Dothan.’ ” Joseph went after his brothers, and found them in Dothan.

Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him”—that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.

They took the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father, and said, “We have found this. Examine it, now, and see if it is your son’s tunic or not.”

Then he asked the men of her place, saying, “Where is the prostitute, that was at Enaim by the road?” They said, “There has been no prostitute here.”

επηρωτησεν δε τους ανδρας τους εκ του τοπου που εστιν η πορνη η γενομενη εν αιναν επι της οδου και ειπαν ουκ ην ενταυθα πορνη

He returned to Judah, and said, “I haven’t found her; and also the men of the place said, ‘There has been no prostitute here.’ ”

Judah said, “Let her keep it, lest we be shamed. Behold, I sent this young goat, and you haven’t found her.”

ειπεν δε ιουδας εχετω αυτα αλλα μηποτε καταγελασθωμεν εγω μεν απεσταλκα τον εριφον τουτον συ δε ουχ ευρηκας

When she travailed, one put out a hand, and the midwife took and tied a scarlet thread on his hand, saying, “This came out first.”

εγενετο δε εν τω τικτειν αυτην ο εις προεξηνεγκεν την χειρα λαβουσα δε η μαια εδησεν επι την χειρα αυτου κοκκινον λεγουσα ουτος εξελευσεται προτερος

No one is greater in this house than I am, and he has not kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

και ουχ υπερεχει εν τη οικια ταυτη ουθεν εμου ουδε υπεξηρηται απ εμου ουδεν πλην σου δια το σε γυναικα αυτου ειναι και πως ποιησω το ρημα το πονηρον τουτο και αμαρτησομαι εναντιον του θεου

About this time, he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside.

And it came to pass about this time, H3117 that [Joseph] went H935 (QalImpf) into the house H1004 to do H6213 (QalInf) his business; H4399 and [there was] none of the men H376 H582 of the house H1004 there within.

εγενετο δε τοιαυτη τις ημερα εισηλθεν ιωσηφ εις την οικιαν ποιειν τα εργα αυτου και ουθεις ην των εν τη οικια εσω

Joseph said to him, “This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.

And Joseph H3130 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, This [is] the interpretation H6623 of it: The three H7969 branches H8299 [are] three H7969 days: H3117

και ειπεν αυτω ιωσηφ τουτο η συγκρισις αυτου οι τρεις πυθμενες τρεις ημεραι εισιν

But remember me when it is well with you. Please show kindness to me, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house.

But think H2142 (QalPerf) on me when it shall be well H3190 (QalImpf) with thee, and shew H6213 (QalPerf) kindness, H2617 I pray thee, unto me, and make mention H2142 (HiphPerf) of me unto Pharaoh, H6547 and bring me H3318 (HiphPerf) out of this house: H1004

αλλα μνησθητι μου δια σεαυτου οταν ευ σοι γενηται και ποιησεις εν εμοι ελεος και μνησθηση περι εμου φαραω και εξαξεις με εκ του οχυρωματος τουτου

Joseph answered, “This is its interpretation. The three baskets are three days.

αποκριθεις δε ιωσηφ ειπεν αυτω αυτη η συγκρισις αυτου τα τρια κανα τρεις ημεραι εισιν

Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Because God has shown you all of this, there is no one so discreet and wise as you.

ειπεν δε φαραω τω ιωσηφ επειδη εδειξεν ο θεος σοι παντα ταυτα ουκ εστιν ανθρωπος φρονιμωτερος και συνετωτερος σου

By this you shall be tested. By the life of Pharaoh, you shall not go out from here, unless your youngest brother comes here.

εν τουτω φανεισθε νη την υγιειαν φαραω ου μη εξελθητε εντευθεν εαν μη ο αδελφος υμων ο νεωτερος ελθη ωδε

Joseph said to them the third day, “Do this, and live, for I fear God.

ειπεν δε αυτοις τη ημερα τη τριτη τουτο ποιησατε και ζησεσθε τον θεον γαρ εγω φοβουμαι

They said to one another, “We are certainly guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us, and we wouldn’t listen. Therefore this distress has come upon us.”

ειπεν δε αυτοις ισραηλ ο πατηρ αυτων ει ουτως εστιν τουτο ποιησατε λαβετε απο των καρπων της γης εν τοις αγγειοις υμων και καταγαγετε τω ανθρωπω δωρα της ρητινης και του μελιτος θυμιαμα και στακτην και τερεμινθον και καρυα

λαβοντες δε οι ανδρες τα δωρα ταυτα και το αργυριον διπλουν ελαβον εν ταις χερσιν αυτων και τον βενιαμιν και ανασταντες κατεβησαν εις αιγυπτον και εστησαν εναντιον ιωσηφ

He lifted up his eyes, and saw Benjamin, his brother, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me?” He said, “God be gracious to you, my son.”

αναβλεψας δε τοις οφθαλμοις ιωσηφ ειδεν βενιαμιν τον αδελφον αυτου τον ομομητριον και ειπεν ουτος ο αδελφος υμων ο νεωτερος ον ειπατε προς με αγαγειν και ειπεν ο θεος ελεησαι σε τεκνον

Isn’t this that from which my lord drinks, and by which he indeed divines? You have done evil in so doing.’ ”

ινα τι εκλεψατε μου το κονδυ το αργυρουν ου τουτο εστιν εν ω πινει ο κυριος μου αυτος δε οιωνισμω οιωνιζεται εν αυτω πονηρα συντετελεσθε α πεποιηκατε

They said to him, “Why does my lord speak such words as these? Far be it from your servants that they should do such a thing!
