Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

He said, “Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

Moses said to God, “Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what should I tell them?”

God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am,” and he said, “You shall tell the children of Israel this: ‘I Am has sent me to you.’ ”

I will reach out my hand and strike Egypt with all my wonders which I will do among them, and after that he will let you go.

και εκτεινας την χειρα παταξω τους αιγυπτιους εν πασι τοις θαυμασιοις μου οις ποιησω εν αυτοις και μετα ταυτα εξαποστελει υμας

Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

Moses said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”

και ειπεν μωυσης δεομαι κυριε προχειρισαι δυναμενον αλλον ον αποστελεις

Yahweh said to Moses, “When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην πορευομενου σου και αποστρεφοντος εις αιγυπτον ορα παντα τα τερατα α εδωκα εν ταις χερσιν σου ποιησεις αυτα εναντιον φαραω εγω δε σκληρυνω την καρδιαν αυτου και ου μη εξαποστειλη τον λαον

and I have said to you, “Let my son go, that he may serve me;” and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your firstborn son.’ ”

Moses told Aaron all Yahweh’s words with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.

And Moses H4872 told H5046 (HiphImpf) Aaron H175 all the words H1697 of the Lord H3068 who had sent H7971 (QalPerf) him, and all the signs H226 which he had commanded H6680 (PielPerf) him.

και ανηγγειλεν μωυσης τω ααρων παντας τους λογους κυριου ους απεστειλεν και παντα τα σημεια α ενετειλατο αυτω

Afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said to Pharaoh, “This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’ ”

και μετα ταυτα εισηλθεν μωυσης και ααρων προς φαραω και ειπαν αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα μοι εορτασωσιν εν τη ερημω

Pharaoh said, “Who is Yahweh, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I don’t know Yahweh, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”

And Pharaoh H6547 said, H559 (QalImpf) Who [is] the Lord, H3068 that I should obey H8085 (QalImpf) his voice H6963 to let Israel H3478 go? H7971 (PielInf) I know H3045 (QalPerf) not the Lord, H3068 neither will I let Israel H3478 go. H7971 (PielImpf)

και ειπεν φαραω τις εστιν ου εισακουσομαι της φωνης αυτου ωστε εξαποστειλαι τους υιους ισραηλ ουκ οιδα τον κυριον και τον ισραηλ ουκ εξαποστελλω

Moses returned to Yahweh, and said, “Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why is it that you have sent me?

And Moses H4872 returned H7725 (QalImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 and said, H559 (QalImpf) Lord, H136 wherefore hast thou [so] evil entreated H7489 (HiphPerf) this people? H5971 why [is] it [that] thou hast sent H7971 (QalPerf) me?

επεστρεψεν δε μωυσης προς κυριον και ειπεν κυριε δια τι εκακωσας τον λαον τουτον και ινα τι απεσταλκας με

Yahweh said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land.”

“Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.”

You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

You shall tell him, ‘Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, “Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness. Behold, until now you haven’t listened.”

Yahweh spoke to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs.

^[7:27] ει δε μη βουλει συ εξαποστειλαι ιδου εγω τυπτω παντα τα ορια σου τοις βατραχοις

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground they are on.

Else, if thou wilt not let my people H5971 go, H7971 (PielPtc) behold, I will send H7971 (HiphPtc) swarms H6157 [of flies] upon thee, and upon thy servants, H5650 and upon thy people, H5971 and into thy houses: H1004 and the houses H1004 of the Egyptians H4714 shall be full H4390 (QalPerf) of swarms H6157 [of flies], and also the ground H127 whereon they [are].

Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”

And Pharaoh H6547 said, H559 (QalImpf) I will let you go, H7971 (PielImpf) that ye may sacrifice H2076 (QalPerf) to the Lord H3068 your God H430 in the wilderness; H4057 only ye shall not go H3212 (QalInf) very H7368 (HiphInf) far away: H7368 (HiphImpf) intreat H6279 (HiphImpv) for me. H1157

^[8:24] και ειπεν φαραω εγω αποστελλω υμας και θυσατε κυριω τω θεω υμων εν τη ερημω αλλ ου μακραν αποτενειτε πορευθηναι ευξασθε ουν περι εμου προς κυριον

Moses said, “Behold, I am going out from you. I will pray to Yahweh that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Yahweh.”

Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.

And Pharaoh H6547 hardened H3513 (HiphImpf) his heart H3820 at this time H6471 also, neither would he let the people H5971 go. H7971 (PielPerf)

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην εισελθε προς φαραω και ερεις αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος των εβραιων εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα μοι λατρευσωσιν

For if you refuse to let them go, and hold them still,

For if thou refuse H3986 to let [them] go, H7971 (PielInf) and wilt hold H2388 (HiphPtc) them still,

ει μεν ουν μη βουλει εξαποστειλαι τον λαον μου αλλ ετι εγκρατεις αυτου

Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the livestock of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he didn’t let the people go.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην ορθρισον το πρωι και στηθι εναντιον φαραω και ερεις προς αυτον ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος των εβραιων εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα λατρευσωσιν μοι

For this time I will send all my plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people; that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.

For I will at this time H6471 send H7971 (QalActPtc) all my plagues H4046 upon thine heart, H3820 and upon thy servants, H5650 and upon thy people; H5971 that thou mayest know H3045 (QalImpf) that [there is] none like me in all the earth. H776

εν τω γαρ νυν καιρω εγω εξαποστελλω παντα τα συναντηματα μου εις την καρδιαν σου και των θεραποντων σου και του λαου σου ιν ειδης οτι ουκ εστιν ως εγω αλλος εν παση τη γη

For now I would have stretched out my hand, and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;

For now I will stretch out H7971 (QalPerf) my hand, H3027 that I may smite H5221 (HiphImpf) thee and thy people H5971 with pestilence; H1698 and thou shalt be cut off H3582 (NiphImpf) from the earth. H776

νυν γαρ αποστειλας την χειρα παταξω σε και τον λαον σου θανατω και εκτριβηση απο της γης

because you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won’t let them go.

As yet exaltest H5549 (HipoPtc) thou thyself against my people, H5971 that thou wilt not let them go? H7971 (PielInf)

ετι ουν συ εμποιη του λαου μου του μη εξαποστειλαι αυτους

Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the field be brought into shelter. The hail will come down on every man and animal that is found in the field, and isn’t brought home, and they will die.” ’ ”

νυν ουν κατασπευσον συναγαγειν τα κτηνη σου και οσα σοι εστιν εν τω πεδιω παντες γαρ οι ανθρωποι και τα κτηνη οσα αν ευρεθη εν τω πεδιω και μη εισελθη εις οικιαν πεση δε επ αυτα η χαλαζα τελευτησει
