There you will serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

When you are in oppression, and all these things have come on you, in the latter days you shall return to Yahweh your God and listen to his voice.

ει ακηκοεν εθνος φωνην θεου ζωντος λαλουντος εκ μεσου του πυρος ον τροπον ακηκοας συ και εζησας

Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you. On earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.

Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear Yahweh our God’s voice any more, then we shall die.

Hear therefore, Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which Yahweh was angry against you to destroy you. But Yahweh listened to me that time also.

I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights; and Yahweh listened to me that time also. Yahweh would not destroy you.

Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you forever, when you do that which is good and right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.

φυλασσου και ακουε και ποιησεις παντας τους λογους ους εγω εντελλομαι σοι ινα ευ σοι γενηται και τοις υιοις σου δι αιωνος εαν ποιησης το καλον και το αρεστον εναντιον κυριου του θεου σου

you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your God is testing you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

^[13:4] ουκ ακουσεσθε των λογων του προφητου εκεινου η του ενυπνιαζομενου το ενυπνιον εκεινο οτι πειραζει κυριος ο θεος υμας ειδεναι ει αγαπατε κυριον τον θεον υμων εξ ολης της καρδιας υμων και εξ ολης της ψυχης υμων

You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him.

you shall not consent to him nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him;

All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more wickedness like this among you.

If you hear about one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, that

^[13:13] εαν δε ακουσης εν μια των πολεων σου ων κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι κατοικειν σε εκει λεγοντων

when you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to keep all his commandments which I command you today, to do that which is right in Yahweh your God’s eyes.

when thou shalt hearken H8085 (QalImpf) to the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 to keep H8104 (QalInf) all his commandments H4687 which I command H6680 (PielPtc) thee this day, H3117 to do H6213 (QalInf) that which is right H3477 in the eyes H5869 of the Lord H3068 thy God. H430

^[13:19] εαν ακουσης της φωνης κυριου του θεου σου φυλασσειν πασας τας εντολας αυτου οσας εγω εντελλομαι σοι σημερον ποιειν το καλον και το αρεστον εναντιον κυριου του θεου σου

if only you diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all this commandment which I command you today.

εαν δε ακοη εισακουσητε της φωνης κυριου του θεου υμων φυλασσειν και ποιειν πασας τας εντολας ταυτας οσας εγω εντελλομαι σοι σημερον

and you are told, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel,

and it be told H5046 (HophPerf) thee, and thou hast heard H8085 (QalPerf) of it, and enquired H1875 (QalPerf) diligently, H3190 (HiphInf) and, behold, it be true, H571 and the thing H1697 certain, H3559 (NiphPtc) that such abomination H8441 is wrought H6213 (NiphPerf) in Israel: H3478

και αναγγελη σοι και εκζητησεις σφοδρα και ιδου αληθως γεγονεν το ρημα γεγενηται το βδελυγμα τουτο εν ισραηλ

The man who does presumptuously in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die. You shall put away the evil from Israel.

And the man H376 that will do H6213 (QalImpf) presumptuously, H2087 and will not hearken^§ H8085 (QalInf) unto the priest H3548 that standeth H5975 (QalActPtc) to minister H8334 (PielInf) there before the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 or unto the judge, H8199 (QalActPtc) even that man H376 shall die: H4191 (QalPerf) and thou shalt put away H1197 (PielPerf) the evil H7451 from Israel. Deuteronomy 17:12 Heb. not to hearken

και ο ανθρωπος ος αν ποιηση εν υπερηφανια του μη υπακουσαι του ιερεως του παρεστηκοτος λειτουργειν επι τω ονοματι κυριου του θεου σου η του κριτου ος αν η εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και αποθανειται ο ανθρωπος εκεινος και εξαρεις τον πονηρον εξ ισραηλ

All the people shall hear and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

And all the people H5971 shall hear, H8085 (QalImpf) and fear, H3372 (QalImpf) and do no more presumptuously. H2102 (HiphImpf)

Deuteronomy 18:14 Or, inherit

τα γαρ εθνη ταυτα ους συ κατακληρονομεις αυτους ουτοι κληδονων και μαντειων ακουσονται σοι δε ουχ ουτως εδωκεν κυριος ο θεος σου

Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from among you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.

The Lord H3068 thy God H430 will raise up H6965 (HiphImpf) unto thee a Prophet H5030 from the midst H7130 of thee, of thy brethren, H251 like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; H8085 (QalImpf)

προφητην εκ των αδελφων σου ως εμε αναστησει σοι κυριος ο θεος σου αυτου ακουσεσθε

This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again Yahweh my God’s voice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”

according to all that thou desiredst H7592 (QalPerf) of the Lord H3068 thy God H430 in Horeb H2722 in the day H3117 of the assembly, H6951 saying, H559 (QalInf) Let me not hear H8085 (QalInf) again H3254 (HiphImpf) the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 my God, H430 neither let me see H7200 (QalImpf) this great H1419 fire H784 any more, that I die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

κατα παντα οσα ητησω παρα κυριου του θεου σου εν χωρηβ τη ημερα της εκκλησιας λεγοντες ου προσθησομεν ακουσαι την φωνην κυριου του θεου ημων και το πυρ το μεγα τουτο ουκ οψομεθα ετι ουδε μη αποθανωμεν

It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever H376 will not hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto my words H1697 which he shall speak H1696 (PielImpf) in my name, H8034 I will require H1875 (QalImpf) it of him.

και ο ανθρωπος ος εαν μη ακουση οσα εαν λαληση ο προφητης επι τω ονοματι μου εγω εκδικησω εξ αυτου

Those who remain shall hear, and fear, and will never again commit any such evil among you.

And those which remain H7604 (NiphPtc) shall hear, H8085 (QalImpf) and fear, H3372 (QalImpf) and shall henceforth H3254 (HiphImpf) commit H6213 (QalInf) no more any H1697 such evil H7451 among H7130 you.

και οι επιλοιποι ακουσαντες φοβηθησονται και ου προσθησουσιν ετι ποιησαι κατα το ρημα το πονηρον τουτο εν υμιν

and shall tell them, “Hear, Israel, you draw near today to battle against your enemies. Don’t let your heart faint! Don’t be afraid, nor tremble, neither be scared of them;

and shall say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, Hear, H8085 (QalImpv) O Israel, H3478 ye approach H7131 this day H3117 unto battle H4421 against your enemies: H341 (QalActPtc) let not your hearts H3824 faint,^§ H7401 (NiphImpf) fear H3372 (QalImpf) not, and do not tremble,^§ H2648 (QalImpf) neither be ye terrified H6206 (QalImpf) because H6440 of them;

και ερει προς αυτους ακουε ισραηλ υμεις προσπορευεσθε σημερον εις πολεμον επι τους εχθρους υμων μη εκλυεσθω η καρδια υμων μη φοβεισθε μηδε θραυεσθε μηδε εκκλινητε απο προσωπου αυτων

If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not listen to them,

If a man H376 have a stubborn H5637 (QalActPtc) and rebellious H4784 (QalActPtc) son, H1121 which will not obey H8085 (QalActPtc) the voice H6963 of his father, H1 or the voice H6963 of his mother, H517 and that, when they have chastened H3256 (PielPerf) him, will not hearken H8085 (QalImpf) unto them:

εαν δε τινι η υιος απειθης και ερεθιστης ουχ υπακουων φωνην πατρος και φωνην μητρος και παιδευσωσιν αυτον και μη εισακουη αυτων

They shall tell the elders of his city, “This our son is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”

and they shall say H559 (QalPerf) unto the elders H2205 of his city, H5892 This our son H1121 is stubborn H5637 (QalActPtc) and rebellious, H4784 (QalActPtc) he will not obey H8085 (QalActPtc) our voice; H6963 he is a glutton, H2151 (QalActPtc) and a drunkard. H5433 (QalActPtc)

και ερουσιν τοις ανδρασιν της πολεως αυτων ο υιος ημων ουτος απειθει και ερεθιζει ουχ υπακουει της φωνης ημων συμβολοκοπων οινοφλυγει

All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.

And all the men H582 of his city H5892 shall stone H7275 (QalPerf) him with stones, H68 that he die: H4191 (QalPerf) so shalt thou put H1197 evil H7451 away H1197 (PielPerf) from among H7130 you; and all Israel H3478 shall hear, H8085 (QalImpf) and fear. H3372 (QalImpf)

και λιθοβολησουσιν αυτον οι ανδρες της πολεως αυτου εν λιθοις και αποθανειται και εξαρεις τον πονηρον εξ υμων αυτων και οι επιλοιποι ακουσαντες φοβηθησονται

Nevertheless Yahweh your God wouldn’t listen to Balaam, but Yahweh your God turned the curse into a blessing to you, because Yahweh your God loved you.

Nevertheless the Lord H3068 thy God H430 would H14 (QalPerf) not hearken H8085 (QalInf) unto Balaam; H1109 but the Lord H3068 thy God H430 turned H2015 (QalImpf) the curse H7045 into a blessing H1293 unto thee, because the Lord H3068 thy God H430 loved H157 (QalPerf) thee.

^[23:6] και ουκ ηθελησεν κυριος ο θεος σου εισακουσαι του βαλααμ και μετεστρεψεν κυριος ο θεος σου τας καταρας εις ευλογιαν οτι ηγαπησεν σε κυριος ο θεος σου

Then we cried to Yahweh, the God of our fathers. Yahweh heard our voice, and saw our affliction, our toil, and our oppression.

and when we cried H6817 (QalImpf) unto the Lord H3068 God H430 of our fathers, H1 the Lord H3068 heard H8085 (QalImpf) our voice, H6963 and looked H7200 (QalImpf) on our affliction, H6040 and our labour, H5999 and our oppression: H3906

και ανεβοησαμεν προς κυριον τον θεον των πατερων ημων και εισηκουσεν κυριος της φωνης ημων και ειδεν την ταπεινωσιν ημων και τον μοχθον ημων και τον θλιμμον ημων

I have not eaten of it in my mourning, neither have I removed any of it while I was unclean, nor given of it for the dead. I have listened to Yahweh my God’s voice. I have done according to all that you have commanded me.

και ουκ εφαγον εν οδυνη μου απ αυτων ουκ εκαρπωσα απ αυτων εις ακαθαρτον ουκ εδωκα απ αυτων τω τεθνηκοτι υπηκουσα της φωνης κυριου του θεου μου εποιησα καθα ενετειλω μοι

You have declared today that Yahweh is your God, and that you would walk in his ways, keep his statutes, his commandments, and his ordinances, and listen to his voice.

Thou hast avouched H559 (HiphPerf) the Lord H3068 this day H3117 to be thy God, H430 and to walk H3212 (QalInf) in his ways, H1870 and to keep H8104 (QalInf) his statutes, H2706 and his commandments, H4687 and his judgments, H4941 and to hearken H8085 (QalInf) unto his voice: H6963

τον θεον ειλου σημερον ειναι σου θεον και πορευεσθαι εν ταις οδοις αυτου και φυλασσεσθαι τα δικαιωματα και τα κριματα αυτου και υπακουειν της φωνης αυτου

Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and listen, Israel! Today you have become the people of Yahweh your God.

και ελαλησεν μωυσης και οι ιερεις οι λευιται παντι ισραηλ λεγοντες σιωπα και ακουε ισραηλ εν τη ημερα ταυτη γεγονας εις λαον κυριω τω θεω σου
