Now Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news came about Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel; and his nurse picked him up and fled. As she hurried to flee, he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.

και τω ιωναθαν υιω σαουλ υιος πεπληγως τους ποδας υιος ετων πεντε ουτος εν τω ελθειν την αγγελιαν σαουλ και ιωναθαν του υιου αυτου εξ ιεζραελ και ηρεν αυτον η τιθηνος αυτου και εφυγεν και εγενετο εν τω σπευδειν αυτην και αναχωρειν και επεσεν και εχωλανθη και ονομα αυτω μεμφιβοσθε

Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, fell on his face, and showed respect. David said, “Mephibosheth?” He answered, “Behold, your servant!”

Now when Mephibosheth, H4648 the son H1121 of Jonathan, H3083 the son H1121 of Saul, H7586 was come H935 (QalImpf) unto David, H1732 he fell H5307 (QalImpf) on his face, H6440 and did reverence. H7812 (HithImpf) And David H1732 said, H559 (QalImpf) Mephibosheth. H4648 And he answered, H559 (QalImpf) Behold thy servant! H5650

και παραγινεται μεμφιβοσθε υιος ιωναθαν υιου σαουλ προς τον βασιλεα δαυιδ και επεσεν επι προσωπον αυτου και προσεκυνησεν αυτω και ειπεν αυτω δαυιδ μεμφιβοσθε και ειπεν ιδου ο δουλος σου

Till the land for him—you, your sons, and your servants. Bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth your master’s son will always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

Thou therefore, and thy sons, H1121 and thy servants, H5650 shall till H5647 (QalPerf) the land H127 for him, and thou shalt bring H935 (HiphPerf) in the fruits, that thy master’s H113 son H1121 may have food H3899 to eat: H398 (QalPerf) but Mephibosheth H4648 thy master’s H113 son H1121 shall eat H398 (QalImpf) bread H3899 alway H8548 at my table. και εργα αυτω την γην συ και οι υιοι σου και οι δουλοι σου και εισοισεις τω υιω του κυριου σου αρτους και εδεται αυτους και μεμφιβοσθε υιος του κυριου σου φαγεται δια παντος αρτον επι της τραπεζης μου και τω σιβα ησαν πεντεκαιδεκα υιοι και εικοσι δουλοι

Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant will do.” So Mephibosheth ate at the king’s table like one of the king’s sons.

Then said H559 (QalImpf) Ziba H6717 unto the king, H4428 According to all that my lord H113 the king H4428 hath commanded H6680 (PielImpf) his servant, H5650 so shall thy servant H5650 do. H6213 (QalImpf) As for Mephibosheth, H4648 said the king, he shall eat H398 (QalActPtc) at my table, H7979 as one H259 of the king’s H4428 sons. H1121

και ειπεν σιβα προς τον βασιλεα κατα παντα οσα εντεταλται ο κυριος μου ο βασιλευς τω δουλω αυτου ουτως ποιησει ο δουλος σου και μεμφιβοσθε ησθιεν επι της τραπεζης δαυιδ καθως εις των υιων του βασιλεως

Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. All who lived in Ziba’s house were servants to Mephibosheth.

And Mephibosheth H4648 had a young H6996 son, H1121 whose name H8034 was Micha. H4316 And all that dwelt H4186 in the house H1004 of Ziba H6717 were servants H5650 unto Mephibosheth. H4648

και τω μεμφιβοσθε υιος μικρος και ονομα αυτω μιχα και πασα η κατοικησις του οικου σιβα δουλοι του μεμφιβοσθε

So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. He was lame in both his feet.

So Mephibosheth H4648 dwelt H3427 (QalActPtc) in Jerusalem: H3389 for he did eat H398 (QalActPtc) continually H8548 at the king’s H4428 table; H7979 and was lame H6455 on both H8147 his feet. H7272

και μεμφιβοσθε κατωκει εν ιερουσαλημ οτι επι της τραπεζης του βασιλεως δια παντος ησθιεν και αυτος ην χωλος αμφοτεροις τοις ποσιν αυτου

When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.

And when David H1732 was a little H4592 past H5674 (QalPerf) the top H7218 of the hill, behold, Ziba H6717 the servant H5288 of Mephibosheth H4648 met H7125 (QalInf) him, with a couple H6776 of asses H2543 saddled, H2280 (QalPasPtc) and upon them two hundred H3967 loaves of bread, H3899 and an hundred H3967 bunches of raisins, H6778 and an hundred H3967 of summer fruits, H7019 and a bottle H5035 of wine. και δαυιδ παρηλθεν βραχυ τι απο της ροως και ιδου σιβα το παιδαριον μεμφιβοσθε εις απαντην αυτου και ζευγος ονων επισεσαγμενων και επ αυτοις διακοσιοι αρτοι και εκατον σταφιδες και εκατον φοινικες και νεβελ οινου

Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that belongs to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I bow down. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) the king H4428 to Ziba, H6717 Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. H4648 And Ziba H6717 said, H559 (QalImpf) I humbly H7812 (HithPerf) beseech^§ thee that I may find H4672 (QalImpf) grace H2580 in thy sight, H5869 my lord, H113 O king. H4428

και ειπεν ο βασιλευς τω σιβα ιδου σοι παντα οσα εστιν τω μεμφιβοσθε και ειπεν σιβα προσκυνησας ευροιμι χαριν εν οφθαλμοις σου κυριε μου βασιλευ

Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king; and he had neither groomed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.

When he had come to Jerusalem to meet the king, the king said to him, “Why didn’t you go with me, Mephibosheth?”

And it came to pass, when he was come H935 (QalPerf) to Jerusalem H3389 to meet H7125 (QalInf) the king, H4428 that the king H4428 said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Wherefore wentest H1980 (QalPerf) not thou with me, Mephibosheth? H4648

^[19:26] και εγενετο οτε εισηλθεν εις ιερουσαλημ εις απαντησιν του βασιλεως και ειπεν αυτω ο βασιλευς τι οτι ουκ επορευθης μετ εμου μεμφιβοσθε

Mephibosheth said to the king, “Yes, let him take all, because my lord the king has come in peace to his own house.”

And Mephibosheth H4648 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the king, H4428 Yea, let him take H3947 (QalImpf) all, forasmuch H310 as H834 my lord H113 the king H4428 is come again H935 (QalPerf) in peace H7965 unto his own house. H1004

But the king spared Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Yahweh’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

But the king H4428 spared H2550 (QalImpf) Mephibosheth, H4648 the son H1121 of Jonathan H3083 the son H1121 of Saul, H7586 because of the Lord’s H3068 oath H7621 that was between them, between David H1732 and Jonathan H3083 the son H1121 of Saul. H7586

και εφεισατο ο βασιλευς επι μεμφιβοσθε υιον ιωναθαν υιου σαουλ δια τον ορκον κυριου τον ανα μεσον αυτων ανα μεσον δαυιδ και ανα μεσον ιωναθαν υιου σαουλ

But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.

But the king H4428 took H3947 (QalImpf) the two H8147 sons H1121 of Rizpah H7532 the daughter H1323 of Aiah, H345 whom she bare H3205 (QalPerf) unto Saul, H7586 Armoni H764 and Mephibosheth; H4648 and the five H2568 sons H1121 of Michal^§ H4324 the daughter H1323 of Saul, H7586 whom she brought up H3205 (QalPerf) for Adriel^§ H5741 the son H1121 of Barzillai H1271 the Meholathite: H4259
