Therefore Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.

and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.

He waited yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.

Pharaoh commanded men concerning him, and they escorted him away with his wife and all that he had.

But the men reached out their hand, and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.

οτι απολλυμεν ημεις τον τοπον τουτον οτι υψωθη η κραυγη αυτων εναντιον κυριου και απεστειλεν ημας κυριος εκτριψαι αυτην

When God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.

και εγενετο εν τω εκτριψαι κυριον πασας τας πολεις της περιοικου εμνησθη ο θεος του αβρααμ και εξαπεστειλεν τον λωτ εκ μεσου της καταστροφης εν τω καταστρεψαι κυριον τας πολεις εν αις κατωκει εν αυταις λωτ

Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.

Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a container of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder; and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.

He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

και ειπεν μη επιβαλης την χειρα σου επι το παιδαριον μηδε ποιησης αυτω μηδεν νυν γαρ εγνων οτι φοβη τον θεον συ και ουκ εφεισω του υιου σου του αγαπητου δι εμε

Yahweh, the God of heaven—who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, ‘I will give this land to your offspring—he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

He said to me, ‘Yahweh, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way. You shall take a wife for my son from my relatives, and of my father’s house.

They ate and drank, he and the men who were with him, and stayed all night. They rose up in the morning, and he said, “Send me away to my master.”

He said to them, “Don’t hinder me, since Yahweh has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.”

They sent away Rebekah, their sister, with her nurse, Abraham’s servant, and his men.

but Abraham gave gifts to the sons of Abraham’s concubines. While he still lived, he sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward, to the east country.

Isaac said to them, “Why have you come to me, since you hate me, and have sent me away from you?”

that you will do us no harm, as we have not touched you, and as we have done to you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace.’ You are now the blessed of Yahweh.”

μη ποιησειν μεθ ημων κακον καθοτι ημεις σε ουκ εβδελυξαμεθα και ον τροπον εχρησαμεθα σοι καλως και εξαπεστειλαμεν σε μετ ειρηνης και νυν συ ευλογητος υπο κυριου

They rose up some time in the morning, and swore an oath to one another. Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

και ανασταντες το πρωι ωμοσαν ανθρωπος τω πλησιον αυτου και εξαπεστειλεν αυτους ισαακ και απωχοντο απ αυτου μετα σωτηριας

The words of Esau, her elder son, were told to Rebekah. She sent and called Jacob, her younger son, and said to him, “Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself about you by planning to kill you.

απηγγελη δε ρεβεκκα τα ρηματα ησαυ του υιου αυτης του πρεσβυτερου και πεμψασα εκαλεσεν ιακωβ τον υιον αυτης τον νεωτερον και ειπεν αυτω ιδου ησαυ ο αδελφος σου απειλει σοι του αποκτειναι σε

until your brother’s anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send, and get you from there. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?”

και την οργην του αδελφου σου απο σου και επιλαθηται α πεποιηκας αυτω και αποστειλασα μεταπεμψομαι σε εκειθεν μηποτε ατεκνωθω απο των δυο υμων εν ημερα μια

Isaac sent Jacob away. He went to Paddan Aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.

And Isaac H3327 sent away H7971 (QalImpf) Jacob: H3290 and he went H3212 (QalImpf) to Padanaram H6307 unto Laban, H3837 son H1121 of Bethuel H1328 the Syrian, H761 the brother H251 of Rebekah, H7259 Jacob’s H3290 and Esau’s H6215 mother. H517

Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan Aram, to take him a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a command, saying, “You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;”

ειδεν δε ησαυ οτι ευλογησεν ισαακ τον ιακωβ και απωχετο εις την μεσοποταμιαν συριας λαβειν εαυτω εκειθεν γυναικα εν τω ευλογειν αυτον και ενετειλατο αυτω λεγων ου λημψη γυναικα απο των θυγατερων χανααν

When Rachel had borne Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.

And it came to pass, when Rachel H7354 had born H3205 (QalPerf) Joseph, H3130 that Jacob H3290 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Laban, H3837 Send me away, H7971 (PielImpv) that I may go H3212 (QalImpf) unto mine own place, H4725 and to my country. H776

εγενετο δε ως ετεκεν ραχηλ τον ιωσηφ ειπεν ιακωβ τω λαβαν αποστειλον με ινα απελθω εις τον τοπον μου και εις την γην μου

Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field to his flock,

And Jacob H3290 sent H7971 (QalImpf) and called H7121 (QalImpf) Rachel H7354 and Leah H3812 to the field H7704 unto his flock, H6629

αποστειλας δε ιακωβ εκαλεσεν ραχηλ και λειαν εις το πεδιον ου τα ποιμνια

Why did you flee secretly, and deceive me, and didn’t tell me, that I might have sent you away with mirth and with songs, with tambourine and with harp;

Wherefore didst thou flee away H1272 (QalInf) secretly, H2244 (NiphPerf) and steal away H1589 (QalImpf) from me; and didst not tell H5046 (HiphPerf) me, that I might have sent thee away H7971 (PielImpf) with mirth, H8057 and with songs, H7892 with tabret, H8596 and with harp? H3658

και ει ανηγγειλας μοι εξαπεστειλα αν σε μετ ευφροσυνης και μετα μουσικων τυμπανων και κιθαρας

Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.”

Except H3884 the God H430 of my father, H1 the God H430 of Abraham, H85 and the fear H6343 of Isaac, H3327 had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away H7971 (PielPerf) now empty. ει μη ο θεος του πατρος μου αβρααμ και ο φοβος ισαακ ην μοι νυν αν κενον με εξαπεστειλας την ταπεινωσιν μου και τον κοπον των χειρων μου ειδεν ο θεος και ηλεγξεν σε εχθες

Jacob sent messengers in front of him to Esau, his brother, to the land of Seir, the field of Edom.

And Jacob H3290 sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 before him H6440 to Esau H6215 his brother H251 unto the land H776 of Seir, H8165 the country H7704 of Edom. H123

I have cattle, donkeys, flocks, male servants, and female servants. I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find favor in your sight.’ ”

^[32:6] και εγενοντο μοι βοες και ονοι και προβατα και παιδες και παιδισκαι και απεστειλα αναγγειλαι τω κυριω μου ησαυ ινα ευρη ο παις σου χαριν εναντιον σου

Then you shall say, ‘They are your servant, Jacob’s. It is a present sent to my lord, Esau. Behold, he also is behind us.’ ”

The man said, “Let me go, for the day breaks.” Jacob said, “I won’t let you go unless you bless me.”

He said to him, “Go now, see whether it is well with your brothers, and well with the flock; and bring me word again.” So he sent him out of the valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him”—that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.

ειπεν δε αυτοις ρουβην μη εκχεητε αιμα εμβαλετε αυτον εις τον λακκον τουτον τον εν τη ερημω χειρα δε μη επενεγκητε αυτω οπως εξεληται αυτον εκ των χειρων αυτων και αποδω αυτον τω πατρι αυτου

They took the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father, and said, “We have found this. Examine it, now, and see if it is your son’s tunic or not.”

και απεστειλαν τον χιτωνα τον ποικιλον και εισηνεγκαν τω πατρι αυτων και ειπαν τουτον ευρομεν επιγνωθι ει χιτων του υιου σου εστιν η ου

He said, “I will send you a young goat from the flock.” She said, “Will you give me a pledge, until you send it?”

Judah sent the young goat by the hand of his friend, the Adullamite, to receive the pledge from the woman’s hand, but he didn’t find her.

And Judah H3063 sent H7971 (QalImpf) the kid H1423 H5795 by the hand H3027 of his friend H7453 the Adullamite, H5726 to receive H3947 (QalInf) [his] pledge H6162 from the woman’s H802 hand: H3027 but he found her H4672 (QalPerf) not.

απεστειλεν δε ιουδας τον εριφον εξ αιγων εν χειρι του ποιμενος αυτου του οδολλαμιτου κομισασθαι τον αρραβωνα παρα της γυναικος και ουχ ευρεν αυτην

Judah said, “Let her keep it, lest we be shamed. Behold, I sent this young goat, and you haven’t found her.”

When she was brought out, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, “I am with child by the man who owns these.” She also said, “Please discern whose these are—the signet, and the cords, and the staff.”

αυτη δε αγομενη απεστειλεν προς τον πενθερον αυτης λεγουσα εκ του ανθρωπου τινος ταυτα εστιν εγω εν γαστρι εχω και ειπεν επιγνωθι τινος ο δακτυλιος και ο ορμισκος και η ραβδος αυτη

In the morning, his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called for all of Egypt’s magicians and wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. He shaved himself, changed his clothing, and came in to Pharaoh.

But Jacob didn’t send Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, with his brothers; for he said, “Lest perhaps harm happen to him.”

Send one of you, and let him get your brother, and you shall be bound, that your words may be tested, whether there is truth in you, or else by the life of Pharaoh surely you are spies.”

If you’ll send our brother with us, we’ll go down and buy you food;
