“ ‘As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the middle of Babylon he will die.

[As] I live, H2416 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God, H3069 surely in the place H4725 [where] the king H4428 [dwelleth] that made him king, H4427 (HiphPtc) whose oath H423 he despised, H959 (QalPerf) and whose covenant H1285 he brake, H6565 (HiphPerf) [even] with him in the midst H8432 of Babylon H894 he shall die. I live-an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Doth he not-in the place of the king who is causing him to reign, Whose oath he hath despised, And whose covenant he hath broken, With him-in the midst of Babylon-die?

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 [As] I live, H2416 surely mine oath H423 that he hath despised, H959 (QalPerf) and my covenant H1285 that he hath broken, H6331 (HiphPerf) even it will I recompense H5414 (QalPerf) upon his own head. H7218

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I live-Mine oath that he hath despised, And My covenant that he hath broken, Have I not put it on his head?

I will spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.

And I will spread H6566 (QalPerf) my net H7568 upon him, and he shall be taken H8610 (NiphPerf) in my snare, H4686 and I will bring H935 (HiphPerf) him to Babylon, H894 and will plead H8199 (NiphPerf) with him there for his trespass H4603 (QalPerf) that he hath trespassed H4604 against me.

And I have spread out for him My snare, And he hath been caught in My net, And I have brought him in to Babylon, And pleaded with him there his trespass, That he hath trespassed against Me.

“Now, behold, if he fathers a son who sees all his father’s sins which he has done, and fears, and doesn’t do likewise,

Now, lo, [if] he beget H3205 (HiphPerf) a son, H1121 that seeth H7200 (QalImpf) all his father’s H1 sins H2403 which he hath done, H6213 (QalPerf) and considereth, H7200 (QalImpf) and doeth H6213 (QalImpf) not such like, H2004

And-lo, he hath begotten a son, And he seeth all the sins of his father, That he hath done, and he feareth, And doth not do like them,

As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he will die in his iniquity.

[As for] his father, H1 because he cruelly H6233 oppressed, H6231 (QalPerf) spoiled H1497 (QalPerf) his brother H251 by violence, H1499 and did H6213 (QalPerf) [that] which [is] not good H2896 among H8432 his people, H5971 lo, even he shall die H4191 (QalPtc) in his iniquity. H5771

His father-because he used oppression, Did violently Plunder a brother, And that which is not good did in the midst of his people, And lo, he is dying in his iniquity.

“But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.

But if the wicked H7563 will turn H7725 (QalImpf) from all his sins H2403 that he hath committed, H6213 (QalPerf) and keep H8104 (QalPerf) all my statutes, H2708 and do H6213 (QalPerf) that which is lawful H4941 and right, H6666 he shall surely H2421 (QalInf) live, H2421 (QalImpf) he shall not die. H4191 (QalImpf)

And the wicked-when he turneth back From all his sins that he hath done, And he hath kept all My statutes, And hath done judgment and righteousness, He doth surely live, he doth not die.

None of his transgressions that he has committed will be remembered against him. In his righteousness that he has done, he shall live.

All his transgressions H6588 that he hath committed, H6213 (QalPerf) they shall not be mentioned H2142 (NiphImpf) unto him: in his righteousness H6666 that he hath done H6213 (QalPerf) he shall live. H2421 (QalImpf)

All his transgressions that he hath done Are not remembered to him, In his righteousness that he hath done he liveth.

“But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, should he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done will be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.

But when the righteous H6662 turneth away H7725 (QalInf) from his righteousness, H6666 and committeth H6213 (QalPerf) iniquity, H5766 [and] doeth H6213 (QalImpf) according to all the abominations H8441 that the wicked H7563 [man] doeth, H6213 (QalPerf) shall he live? H2425 (QalPerf) All his righteousness H6666 that he hath done H6213 (QalPerf) shall not be mentioned: H2142 (NiphImpf) in his trespass H4603 (QalPerf) that he hath trespassed, H4604 and in his sin H2403 that he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) in them shall he die. And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, And he hath done perversity, According to all the abominations That the wicked hath done, he doth-thus he liveth, All his righteousnesses that he hath done are not remembered, For his trespass that he hath trespassed, And for his sin that he hath sinned, For them he doth die.

When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in it, then he dies in his iniquity that he has done.

When a righteous H6662 [man] turneth away H7725 (QalInf) from his righteousness, H6666 and committeth H6213 (QalPerf) iniquity, H5766 and dieth H4191 (QalPerf) in them; for his iniquity H5766 that he hath done H6213 (QalPerf) shall he die. H4191 (QalImpf)

In the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, And he hath done perversity, And he is dying by them, for his perversity That he hath done he dieth.

Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he will save his soul alive.

Again, when the wicked H7563 [man] turneth away H7725 (QalInf) from his wickedness H7564 that he hath committed, H6213 (QalPerf) and doeth H6213 (QalImpf) that which is lawful H4941 and right, H6666 he shall save H2421 his soul H5315 alive. H2421 (PielImpf)

And in the turning back of the wicked From his wickedness that he hath done, And he doth judgment and righteousness, He his soul doth keep alive.

Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live. He shall not die.

Because he considereth, H7200 (QalImpf) and turneth away H7725 (QalImpf) from all his transgressions H6588 that he hath committed, H6213 (QalPerf) he shall surely H2421 (QalInf) live, H2421 (QalImpf) he shall not die. H4191 (QalImpf)

And he seeth and turneth back, From all his transgressions that he hath done, He doth surely live, he doth not die,

Cast away from you all your transgressions in which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit. For why will you die, house of Israel?

Cast away H7993 (HiphImpv) from you all your transgressions, H6588 whereby ye have transgressed; H6586 (QalPerf) and make H6213 (QalImpv) you a new H2319 heart H3820 and a new H2319 spirit: H7307 for why will ye die, H4191 (QalImpf) O house H1004 of Israel? H3478

Cast from off you all your transgressions, By which ye have transgressed, And make to you a new heart, and a new spirit, And why do ye die, O house of Israel?

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

But I wrought H6213 (QalImpf) for my name’s H8034 sake, that it should not be polluted H2490 (NiphInf) before H5869 the heathen, H1471 among H8432 whom they [were], in whose sight H5869 I made myself known H3045 (NiphPerf) unto them, in bringing them forth H3318 (HiphInf) out of the land H776 of Egypt. And I do it for My name’s sake, Not to pollute it before the eyes of the nations, In whose midst they are, Before whose eyes I became known to them, To bring them out from the land of Egypt.

I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he will live in them.

And I gave H5414 (QalImpf) them my statutes, H2708 and shewed H3045 (HiphPerf) them my judgments, H4941 which [if] a man H120 do, H6213 (QalImpf) he shall even live H2425 (QalPerf) in them.

And I give to them My statutes, And my judgments I caused them to know, Which the man who doth-liveth by them.

“ ‘ “But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keeps, he shall live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

But the house H1004 of Israel H3478 rebelled H4784 (HiphImpf) against me in the wilderness: H4057 they walked H1980 (QalPerf) not in my statutes, H2708 and they despised H3988 (QalPerf) my judgments, H4941 which [if] a man H120 do, H6213 (QalImpf) he shall even live H2425 (QalPerf) in them; and my sabbaths H7676 they greatly H3966 polluted: H2490 (PielPerf) then I said, H559 (QalImpf) I would pour out H8210 (QalInf) my fury H2534 upon them in the wilderness, H4057 to consume H3615 (PielInf) them.

And-rebel against me do the house of Israel in the wilderness, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have despised, Which the man who doth-liveth by them. And My sabbaths they have greatly polluted, And I say to pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

But I wrought H6213 (QalImpf) for my name’s H8034 sake, that it should not be polluted H2490 (NiphInf) before H5869 the heathen, H1471 in whose sight H5869 I brought them out. H3318 (HiphPerf)

And I do it for My name’s sake, Not to pollute it before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them forth.

Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands,

Yet also I lifted up H5375 (QalPerf) my hand H3027 unto them in the wilderness, H4057 that I would not bring H935 (HiphInf) them into the land H776 which I had given H5414 (QalPerf) [them], flowing H2100 (QalActPtc) with milk H2461 and honey, H1706 which [is] the glory H6643 of all lands; H776

And also, I, I have lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, Not to bring them in to the land that I had given, Flowing with milk and honey, A beauty it is to all the lands,

“ ‘ “But the children rebelled against me. They didn’t walk in my statutes, and didn’t keep my ordinances to do them, which if a man does, he shall live in them. They profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

Notwithstanding the children H1121 rebelled H4784 (HiphImpf) against me: they walked H1980 (QalPerf) not in my statutes, H2708 neither kept H8104 (QalPerf) my judgments H4941 to do H6213 (QalInf) them, which [if] a man H120 do, H6213 (QalImpf) he shall even live H2425 (QalPerf) in them; they polluted H2490 (PielPerf) my sabbaths: H7676 then I said, H559 (QalImpf) I would pour out H8210 (QalInf) my fury H2534 upon them, to accomplish H3615 (PielInf) my anger H639 against them in the wilderness. H4057

And-the sons rebel against Me, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have not observed-to do them, Which the man who doth-liveth by them. My sabbaths they have polluted, And I say to pour out My fury upon them, To complete Mine anger against them in the wilderness.

Nevertheless I withdrew my hand and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

Nevertheless I withdrew H7725 (HiphPerf) mine hand, H3027 and wrought H6213 (QalImpf) for my name’s H8034 sake, that it should not be polluted H2490 (NiphInf) in the sight H5869 of the heathen, H1471 in whose sight H5869 I brought them forth. H3318 (HiphPerf)

And I have turned back My hand, And I do it for My name’s sake, Not to pollute it before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them out.

For when I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There they also made their pleasant aroma, and there they poured out their drink offerings.

[For] when I had brought H935 (HiphImpf) them into the land, H776 [for] the which I lifted up H5375 (QalPerf) mine hand H3027 to give H5414 (QalInf) it to them, then they saw H7200 (QalImpf) every high H7311 (QalActPtc) hill, H1389 and all the thick H5687 trees, H6086 and they offered H2076 (QalImpf) there their sacrifices, H2077 and there they presented H5414 (QalImpf) the provocation H3708 of their offering: H7133 there also they made H7760 (QalImpf) their sweet H5207 savour, H7381 and poured out H5258 (HiphImpf) there their drink offerings. And I bring them in unto the land, That I did lift up My hand to give to them, And they see every high hill, and every thick tree, And they sacrifice there their sacrifices, And give there the provocation of their offering, And make there their sweet fragrance, And they pour out there their libations.

Then I said to them, ‘What does the high place where you go mean?’ So its name is called Bamah° to this day.” ’

Ezekiel 20:29 “Bamah” means “High Place”.

Then I said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, What [is] the high place H1116 whereunto ye go? H935 (QalActPtc) And the name H8034 thereof is called H7121 (NiphImpf) Bamah H1117 unto this day. H3117

And I say unto them: What is the high place whither ye are going in? And its name is called ‘high place’ to this day.

“ ‘ “That which comes into your mind will not be at all, in that you say, ‘We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.’

And that which cometh H5927 (QalActPtc) into your mind H7307 shall not be at all, that ye say, H559 (QalActPtc) We will be H1961 (QalImpf) as the heathen, H1471 as the families H4940 of the countries, H776 to serve H8334 (PielInf) wood H6086 and stone. H68

And that which is going up on your mind, It is not at all-in that ye are saying: We will be as the nations, as the families of the lands, To serve wood and stone.

I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.

And I will bring you out H3318 (HiphPerf) from the people, H5971 and will gather H6908 (PielPerf) you out of the countries H776 wherein ye are scattered, H6327 (NiphPerf) with a mighty H2389 hand, H3027 and with a stretched out H5186 (QalPasPtc) arm, H2220 and with fury H2534 poured out. And I have brought you forth from the peoples, And assembled you from the lands In which ye have been scattered, With a strong hand and with a stretched-out arm, And with fury poured out.

I will accept you as a pleasant aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered. I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

I will accept H7521 (QalImpf) you with your sweet H5207 savour, H7381 when I bring you out H3318 (HiphInf) from the people, H5971 and gather H6908 (PielPerf) you out of the countries H776 wherein ye have been scattered; H6327 (NiphPerf) and I will be sanctified H6942 (NiphPerf) in you before H5869 the heathen. H1471

With sweet fragrance I do accept you, In My bringing you out from the peoples, And I have assembled you from the lands In which ye have been scattered, And I have been sanctified in you Before the eyes of the nations.

You will know that I am Yahweh when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.

And ye shall know H3045 (QalPerf) that I [am] the Lord, H3068 when I shall bring H935 (HiphInf) you into the land H127 of Israel, H3478 into the country H776 [for] the which I lifted up H5375 (QalPerf) mine hand H3027 to give H5414 (QalInf) it to your fathers. H1

And ye have known that I am Jehovah, In My bringing you to the ground of Israel, Unto the land that I did lift up My hand To give it to your fathers,

There you will remember your ways, and all your deeds in which you have polluted yourselves. Then you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

And there shall ye remember H2142 (QalPerf) your ways, H1870 and all your doings, H5949 wherein ye have been defiled; H2930 (NiphPerf) and ye shall lothe H6962 (NiphPerf) yourselves in your own sight H6440 for all your evils H7451 that ye have committed. H6213 (QalPerf)

And ye have remembered there your ways, And all your doings, In which ye have been defiled, And ye have been loathsome in your own faces, For all your evils that ye have done.

“ ‘You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

And thou, profane H2491 wicked H7563 prince H5387 of Israel, H3478 whose day H3117 is come, H935 (QalPerf) when H6256 iniquity H5771 [shall have] an end, H7093

And thou, wounded, wicked one, Prince of Israel, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end!

I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it.” ’

I will overturn, H5754 overturn, H5754 overturn, H5754 it: and it shall be H7760 (QalImpf) no [more], until he come H935 (QalInf) whose right H4941 it is; and I will give H5414 (QalPerf) it [him].

An overturn, overturn, overturn, I make it, Also this hath not been till the coming of Him, Whose is the judgment, and I have given it.

while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day has come in the time of the iniquity of the end.

Whiles they see H2372 (QalInf) vanity H7723 unto thee, whiles they divine H7080 (QalInf) a lie H3577 unto thee, to bring H5414 (QalInf) thee upon the necks H6677 of [them that are] slain, H2491 of the wicked, H7563 whose day H3117 is come, H935 (QalPerf) when H6256 their iniquity H5771 [shall have] an end. H7093

In the seeing for thee of a vain thing, In the divining for thee of a lie, To put thee on the necks of the wounded of the wicked, whose day hath come, In the time of the iniquity of the end.

Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, I will judge you.

Shall I cause [it] to return H7725 (HiphImpv) into his sheath? H8593 I will judge H8199 (QalImpf) thee in the place H4725 where thou wast created, H1254 (NiphPerf) in the land H776 of thy nativity. H4351

Turn it back unto its scabbard, In the place where thou wast produced, In the land of thy birth I do judge thee.

You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

Thou art become guilty H816 (QalPerf) in thy blood H1818 that thou hast shed; H8210 (QalPerf) and hast defiled H2930 (QalPerf) thyself in thine idols H1544 which thou hast made; H6213 (QalPerf) and thou hast caused thy days H3117 to draw near, H7126 (HiphImpf) and art come H935 (QalImpf) [even] unto thy years: H8141 therefore have I made H5414 (QalPerf) thee a reproach H2781 unto the heathen, H1471 and a mocking H7048 to all countries. H776

By thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast been guilty, And by thine idols that thou hast made thou hast been defiled, And thou causest thy days to draw near, And art come in unto thine years, Therefore I have given thee a reproach to nations, And a derision to all the lands.

“ ‘ “Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.

Behold, therefore I have smitten H5221 (HiphPerf) mine hand H3709 at thy dishonest gain H1215 which thou hast made, H6213 (QalPerf) and at thy blood H1818 which hath been in the midst H8432 of thee.

And lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of thy dishonest gain that thou hast gained, And for thy blood that hath been in thy midst.

She gave herself as a prostitute to them, all of them the choicest men of Assyria. She defiled herself with the idols of whoever she lusted after.

Thus she committed H5414 (QalImpf) her whoredoms H8457 with them, with all them [that were] the chosen H4005 men H1121 of Assyria, H804 and with all on whom she doted: H5689 (QalPerf) with all their idols H1544 she defiled H2930 (NiphPerf) herself.

And she giveth her whoredoms on them, The choice of the sons of Asshur, All of them-even all on whom she doted, By all their idols she hath been defiled.

“Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians on whom she doted.

Wherefore I have delivered H5414 (QalPerf) her into the hand H3027 of her lovers, H157 (PielPtc) into the hand H3027 of the Assyrians, H1121 H804 upon whom she doted. H5689 (QalPerf)

Therefore I have given her into the hand of her lovers, Into the hand of sons of Asshur on whom she doted.

Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.

And she multiplieth her whoredoms, To remember the days of her youth, When she went a-whoring in the land of Egypt.

She lusted after their lovers, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.

For she doted H5689 (QalImpf) upon their paramours, H6370 whose flesh H1320 [is as] the flesh H1320 of asses, H2543 and whose issue H2231 [is like] the issue H2231 of horses. H5483

And she doteth on their paramours, Whose flesh is the flesh of asses, And the issue of horses-their issue.

“Therefore, Oholibah, the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:

Therefore, O Aholibah, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am stirring up thy lovers against thee, From whom thy soul hath been alienated, And have brought them in against thee from round about.

“For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God; H3069 Behold, I will deliver H5414 (QalActPtc) thee into the hand H3027 [of them] whom thou hatest, H8130 (QalPerf) into the hand H3027 [of them] from whom thy mind H5315 is alienated: H5361 (QalPerf)

For thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am giving thee into a hand that thou hast hated, Into a hand from which thou wast alienated.

These things will be done to you because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.

I will do H6213 (QalInf) these [things] unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring H2181 (QalInf) after H310 the heathen, H1471 [and] because thou art polluted H2930 (NiphPerf) with their idols. H1544

To do these things to thee, In thy going a-whoring after nations, Because thou hast been defiled with their idols,

For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols. They have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through the fire to them to be devoured.

“Furthermore you sisters have sent for men who come from far away, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you washed yourself, painted your eyes, decorated yourself with ornaments,

“ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece without casting lots for it.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the city of blood, A pot whose scum is in it, And its scum hath not come out of it, By piece of it, by piece of it bring it out, Not fallen on it hath a lot.

‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

“Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’

Because that Tyre hath said of Jerusalem: Aha, she hath been broken, the doors of the peoples, She hath turned round unto me, I am filled-she hath been laid waste,

Her daughters who are in the field will be slain with the sword. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’

They will take up a lamentation over you, and tell you, “How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who lived there!”

And have lifted up for thee a lamentation, And said to thee: How hast thou perished, That art inhabited from the seas, The praised city, that was strong in the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who put their terror on all her inhabitants!

Now the islands will tremble in the day of your fall. Yes, the islands that are in the sea will be dismayed at your departure.’

“For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘When I make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep on you, and the great waters cover you,

Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war who are in you, with all your company which is among you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.

Thy riches, H1952 and thy fairs, H5801 thy merchandise, H4627 thy mariners, H4419 and thy pilots, H2259 thy calkers, H919 H2388 (HiphPtc) and the occupiers H6148 (QalActPtc) of thy merchandise, H4627 and all thy men H582 of war, H4421 that [are] in thee, and in all thy company H6951 which [is] in the midst H8432 of thee, shall fall H5307 (QalImpf) into the midst H3820 of the seas H3220 in the day H3117 of thy ruin. Thy wealth and thy remnants, Thy merchandise, thy mariners, And thy pilots, strengtheners of thy breach, And the traders of thy merchandise, And all thy men of war, who are in thee, And in all thine assembly that is in thy midst, Fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall,

“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am shown as holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.
